“I’m going to post the same review I gave on Yelp - this is a 5 Star place! After a day in DC, my family decided to try Soul Thai on our way home. What a terrific Experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was some of the best Thai we have ever had. The Pad Thai was amazing. The Hang Over Noodles (Drunken Noodles) was exceptional. And the red curry was by far the best I’ve had in the area. The ambiance was quite pleasant as well. Initially we were sat in an area that was a little noisy for our taste, but they graciously moved us to a much quieter section. The owner, Nancy came over after our meal and was very appreciative of our comments on the meal. She shared with us that she personally picks the freshest ingredients she can find to ensure the quality of the food. I would highly recommend Soul Thai to everyone. We will be coming back soon. My main complaint with most DC places is that the food is NOT spicy enough. Not the case here! I got the drunken noodles tonight and hands down they were the spiciest best I've had in the area! “A great new restaurant in Rockville serving delicious Laotian and Southeast Asian food. We ordered the Bermuda triangle appetizer which was a large portion of crispy spring rolls. For dinner, we had a the Vientiane beef jerky, beef Panang curry, and the dancing pork belly with Chinese broccoli. All the dishes were so flavorful, but the curry and pork belly were exceptionally good. Portions were large and service was quick and attentive. Their menu is very large so we look forward to being able to try more dishes our next time.“

“Surprisingly excellent Thai spot in Chevy Chase, with a limited but happily opinionated menu with some classic items as well as street food fare. We enjoyed the Beef massaman ( Slow-cooked beef in Massaman curry with potatoes, onions, and peanuts); it was a warm, nourishing comfort curry. Alongside the Baa Mee ( egg noodle, five spice roasted chicken, bok-choy, fried garlic,
peanuts, spring onion, and cilantro), it was excellent combination of flavorful noodles and a rich creamy curry. Service was excellent and the space was modern and vibrant. Acoustics were poor however, as the amplified din made it very difficult to carry on a conversation. Really the only note for the restaurant.“

“I recently ordered through Postmates from this location for delivery. I got the spring rolls, mango sticky rice, and curry puffs.

The spring rolls were really good, they had I think glass noodles along with the veggies inside. They are quite small so they give you 4 of them.

The curry puffs are an item I have gotten from multiple restaurants and theirs were on the small size but they give you 3 instead of the usual 2. They were a bunch more spicy compared to others and it was too spicy for my liking. This is the only time I haven't finished an order of curry puffs due to taste. The cucumber-vinegar sauce also wasn't very good. It wasn't vinegary enough, basically tasted watered down and this is a crucial part of the dish, so I was a bit disappointed.

The mango stick rice was incredibly good! The mango was perfectly fresh and ripe! They give you a decent portion of sticky rice with coconut and such on top. If for no other reason I'll be ordering from them again just to get more of this and to try other dishes!

A suggestion: one thing that would improve my experience and enjoyment is if the store had a sweet plum type sauce that wasn't spicy that was made in the restaurant with good natural ingredients. Many of the prepackaged sauces have ingredients I'm unable to eat due to food allergies. I would pay more, and order more often if I really liked the sauce. One example in the market is Chipotle makes their Polynesian sauce that I buy in the large bottles because it's the only sweet and sour type sauce I can eat and use it for all stores nuggets because they make it themselves without all the artificial ingredients. I also order coconut shrimp from red lobster as opposed to other places because I love their pina colada sauce.... just a thought. There are a lot of us who can't eat the artificial stuff. Msg is another one that commonly is a problem for those with migraine and it would be great if you had a good alternative. I think restaurants underestimate the value of a good sauce from scratch.“
