“Long post ahead, warning! I walked in around 9 pm and the hostess didn't bat an eye at my dining alone, and didn't say anything about it, which I appreciate. I was seated right away with no problems and immediately got a chance to look over the menu. I will admit, it took a little bit longer than expected for my waiter to come over, but as a lone diner I sort of expected that. I looked like I was waiting for someone, I'm sure. The look and feel of the place was very upscale, but they didn't have any problems with me walking in wearing a nerdy t-shirt. I was seated in this cute little booth for 2 with curtains on the side so, if I wanted a more private dinner, I could have it. It was a cute touch! The restaurant also offered patio dining and since it's by the creek, that would have been a downright charming experience were it not the usual Maryland summer. Despite having a bar, the restaurant was respectably quiet and low-key, making it an easy dining experience. I wasn't in the mood for something wild, and this place really hit the nail on the head. My first waiter Kevin, however, was the picture of polite helpfulness. He answered all of my questions, made some wonderful suggestions, and was incredibly pleasant to talk to. I was delighted to find out that this place takes part in DC restaurant week, so I was able to take part in that promotion. Under a suggestion from Kevin, I ordered a glass of their moscato (I wanted something light and sweet), and the wine was so good I brought home a whole bottle. Not really on them, but it does reflect their excellent selection. Dinner itself was delicious. The red pepper soup was refreshing and flavorful, without being too filling. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection and was flavored in the perfect way to make the actual flavor of the meat shine. The potatoes were both light and fluffy, but also had the little chunks of potato that I prefer in my mashed. The best part was desert. About halfway through my appetizer, Kevin introduced my other waiter, Maddy, who took over after he went home. She was as much of a delight as he was, and made possibly the best recommendation of the night. Desert was this blackberry tart that I did not have room for but could not put down. Gooey and crumbly all at once, with a warm center that was almost caramel-y even though it was fruit based. Topped with a light cream to balance it all out, it was absolutely delicious. I will be thinking of that tart all day tomorrow. The prices on the menu were a little high, but I wouldn't go so far to say they were unreasonable. If I had wanted a cheaper option, I could have gone to any chain restaurant ever. In the grand scheme of downtown Frederick, with it's many small businesses and one of a kind dining experiences, I think this was reasonable. For reference, a lot of meals were between $20 and $30, but a good steak is almost always $30+. Despite the price, I had an exceptional dining experience, and would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for upscale dining, without the upscale requirements.“

“Stopped after a day of soccer games. We ordered two pies to share with our party of 4 - Supreme Italiano and a Margeritha. Pies were huge!!! Freshly made in a wood fire oven. Great service and value!! Spacious indoor and outdoor seating!! Highly recommend!!!“

“The crab cakes lacked seasoning. Same for the cream of crab soup. The French onion soup was too salty, while not unusual, it wasn't expected for this level of restaurant. Our wait staff was excellent. And the atmosphere is also excellent. It was our first time for dinner. We'd been numerous times for lunch and will limit ourselves to lunch in the future.“

“We used to frequent this restaurant often when we lived in Frederick. We returned for my 70th birthday dinner. As usual, Rich did an outstanding job, not only with our meals but also with meals designed for our vegan/vegetarian children. Trish, our server , was also excellent. “This place is a hidden gem! The owner is the one who took care of my order and he was the sweetest man! He recommended the lamb schwarma and the falafel. And they were incredible!! Seriously the best Mediterranean food I’ve had! I really appreciated that the owner explained that he makes all of the food to order and nothing it “ready to eat” because he wants to provide the freshest, best food to his customers. There’s a great shared courtyard area right out front with picnic tables. Highly recommend! And the owner gave me a taste of the baklava - it is sooooo good!“

Service was slow to order a beer and desert was almost cancelled because of time and the glazing did not arrive with one of the deserts and getting a side cup never arrived. The waitress was new and very helpful and will get better with experience. The only disappointment was their Military Discount? They only allow 10% for "active" Military making one feel that veterans just don't qualify? And the 10% you receive is only on the members main meal. So for a $60.61 meal the discount was $1.49? I give the discount I receive back to the wait staff and left a $15.00 tip.“

We ordered half slab platter small side of P/salad side corn bread and added on brisket, $38+tax. when I get home and I see the saddest meatless sticks that they call ribs. Each with more bone than meat and highly disappointing!! we added the $8 brisket which was also very small. $40 should go much further and this is a rip off!! This place must give the full-sized ribs to the dine-in guests because you get screwed when taking out! if I checked my food before paying I wouldn't have paid. u would have gone to Buffalo wild wings next door!! very disappointed“

“Outstanding! I am up here for work from Florida, and as many times as I have been to Frederick, I can't believe I have not eaten here sooner. The atmosphere is wonderful! There is nothing better than the smell of smoked BBQ filling the air. Ample parking, and I love the location. The food is fantastic! I had the potato salad, sweet potatoes, and 2 meats (Arkansas Brisket which are burnt tips and Hot Links). The platter comes with pickled onions, pickles, and cornbread. It did not disappoint. Plus the original BBQ which comes with it, had an interesting flavor. Sweet and vinegary, with a little heat, which was nice. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for some good BBQ.“
