“This was not a planned trip. 495 was backed up, so I went looking for an Hmart. Inside is this little gem, Momo's Bakery. I wish I would have done 2 things different. 1) Taken pictures. 2) Bought more!!

Oh my goodness gracious! I got the custard, strawberry cream and regular cream (vanilla). Should have bought more of everything. This place is not close to where I live, but if I am back in that area, I will stop again and definitely buy more.

On top of it, the lady who helped me was super sweet. 5 🌟 all around!“

“It's been a while since I've been in the United States and I finally ate at McDonald's. This is a small stall in a shopping mall and it looks pretty clean. I ordered French fries, chicken nuggets and a McChicken burger. The French fries are as delicious as ever, and the chicken nuggets are okay. The McChicken burger is not as delicious as the ones in Asia, but McDonald's is really cheap. You can buy it occasionally to satisfy your cravings. .“

The manager and staff are so kind, they truly check in on you and make sure you are taken care of.

The food is fresh and so delicious! The drinks are good as well!

“I came to try this bakery after seeing it promoted on Instagram as an authentic Asian-style bakery. I miss the Japanese bakeries I would frequent often when living in Japan a few years ago, and this one definitely brought back those memories. The interior is cute and on display were a variety of Asian-style baked goods and some minimal seating. I got the ube twist and melon pan. The ube twist was really delicious — I’d highly recommend it. The melon pan was disappointing; I expect a crunchy cookie crust on melon pan and this one was sticky and soft. The bread itself was super plush and soft and amazing, so it would be great if they could improve upon it with a crunchier cookie crust. The bread items were $3-4 each, so not the cheapest, but I was happy to support a local Asian bakery.“

“This is hands down the best coffee shop in DMV. Their coffee is excellent. I’d recommend their matcha, their Honey cinnamon latte, and their cold brew. Bring a friend, bring some work, bring your dog, this place is adaptable for everyone. The neighborhood really comes together here and it has become a place of community.“

“We had the best time at KooKoo DC last night. They accommodated a table of 14 for my spouse's birthday and never let us feel like an imposition. The food was so fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced - I did a double take when we got the bill. I even felt like we went all-out with apps, drinks, and desserts! The owner was also so kind - we just felt so cared for the whole time and can't wait to visit again.“

“This is my favorite neighborhood café - I have never been disappointed by a visit. The staff are very welcoming and their coffees/lattes are great. The kouign amann is my favorite item (I’ve been missing it recently), but all of their pastries are delicious and baked on site. I appreciate their efforts to expand their gluten-free options as well!

The café only has a few tables and gets crowded on the weekends, but is well worth a visit.“

“I have heard a lot of great things about this place, so my boyfriend and I decided to try it today. We ordered two unsweetened matcha lattes, one with whole milk and one with oat milk, to really taste the quality of the matcha. While waiting, I noticed they store their matcha in clear containers, which isn’t ideal since light exposure can cause oxidation and affect the flavor and color. On the plus side, they whisk each drink fresh to order. I also noticed the straws weren’t individually wrapped, so we chose to sip through the lids instead. The oat milk version was really disappointing, the oat flavor completely overpowered the matcha, and it just tasted like green oat milk. They might want to consider an oat milk that pairs better. The whole milk version was better, it’s earthy and nutty with subtle umami notes, but not very creamy or sweet. It was slightly astringent and left a bit of dryness in my throat and mouth. Overall, we would rate their matcha 7/10. It’s not bad with whole milk, but there are definitely better matcha options out there.“

“I only had a small black coffee and a cheese bread, but the lady behind the counter provided me excellent service. The coffee was very good and the cheese bread was good as well. It was a pleasant atmosphere as I had my coffee and bread while reading at one of the tables inside.“

“I ended up at the Weathon location just by chance while waiting for an appointment in the area. The place is a counter with few tables located in the Civic Center/Library Hall. Coffee is really good, pastry was fresh and the lady at the counter was polite and kind. Highly recommended“

“Went in for a coffee fix this morning, and they did not disappoint. The shop itself is very beautiful and I loved their comfy seating. My go to is an iced cafe latte with vanilla and it was so delicious. Gentleman recommended the tiramisu to us which was also wonderful and we took to finish at home. “What a welcoming little Ethiopian coffee shop! Once a market, Dire Coffee opened in 2020. Family-owned, Dire Coffee serves Ethiopian coffee beans in all different ways- black coffee, lattes, and more. I ordered the Pumpkin Spice Latte. It came out hot and strong. The woman behind the register, who's the wife of the owner, asked how sweet I wanted my latte. She was very kind!

To eat, they have a variety of food. I ordered one sambusa and it was filled with lentils. It hit the spot!

The space itself is small, but comes with many places to sit. There's a small parking lot out front.“

“I’m fairly new to road biking and had just bought a new to me road bike from FB Marketplace. I had sent an email through their contact form which Laurie answered and gave me enough reason to bring my bike to Proteus. I brought my bike in this past Saturday. The first person that greeted me was Paul. He checked over my bike and let me know that my bike was really in great shape and made a few minor adjustments that he didn’t charge me for. He replaced my seat and clipless pedals with flat pedals. Literally everyone in that shop made me feel comfortable and welcome. Laurie, Jeff, Duncan, Andy, Paul, yall are amazing and made me feel at home. I live in DC, but Proteus is my go to bike shop now!“

“The bread was divine. The manicotti was pretty good. It has cold crab on top. The server told me beforehand, which wasn't a problem, but I just don't get it. Seems like the dish would have been better and more composed with warm crab. The salad on top didn't taste like much and didn't add anything other than texture to the dish. The pasta and seafood were both cooked to perfection. Service was great.“

“Located in the former Colada space, this is a good place to grab some breakfast or lunch. Menu has a lot of variety. You can get salads, bowls, wraps and plates. We stopped by for breakfast and enjoyed their take on breakfast sandwiches. The croissant sandwich was good, but a little too thin to hold the ingredients. I did like the sauce that came with it.

My daughter enjoyed her Perfect Egg sandwich. These are pretty substantial sandwiches. I wish they had mocha coffee, but they didn't. Will come back to try their salads or bowls. Nicely decorated as well with lots of outdoor seating in the back.“

“This is a great cocktail bar that also happens to have pretty good food! The only thing holding this review from being 5 stars is that the owner needs to assign more staff to the Saturday evening shift. There was 25-30 customers between 6:30 and 8pm on a Saturday, but only TWO employees working outside the kitchen. No host, no busser, no server. Just ONE waiter and ONE bartender during prime time dinner hours. The bartender was serving food instead of bartending and the waiter was frantically trying to take orders from 10+ tables. No one was bussing (dirty tables were left unattended until new customers arrived) and you had to find the waiter or bartender in order to get a seat. I hope the owner or manager sees this because I felt so bad for the two staff trying to run the front house of this restaurant on a Saturday night. They were doing their best and deserve more help so they can provide better service to customers.“

I was in a rush as I had a bus to catch and she quickly rung me up and got me a bag to hold my delicious pastries. Great customer service! “I had a wonderful experience at Paris Baguette. The bakery was clean, welcoming, and filled with an amazing selection of pastries, cakes, breads, and coffee. Everything looked fresh, and the quality definitely matched the presentation. “This restaurant is amazing! From the food, atmosphere and service is perfect. The owner was working and was beyond kind and caring. I had never tried Indian food. So the owner walked me through what he would suggest and what it all came from. I ended up getting a dosa which was the best food I have ever had. When it came out the cook explained all of the masalas it came with.

I also asked for recommendations for desert and drink to bring home to my roommate. They suggested a chai, mango lasi, pineapple kessari and gulab jamun. Everything was to DIE for.

I felt so well taken care of. The owner is a wonderful person. I can not suggest this place enough!!! If you are looking for some of the best food from even better people, look no further. This will be the place for you!“
