Briann got us started with beverages. Kabir reserved our food order and off we went to the great outdoor dining area.

“Arriving we were met with friendly smiling hosts. We were offered inside or out but decided we didn’t need to wait for out when we could sit in the lounge which was basically open air (the wall opens onto the deck). Beautiful view of the river and tugs. Our waitress Mikayla (sp?) was super sweet and attentive. We never waited for a drink refill or to order more food. She was knowledgeable about the menu both food and drink. The food was amazing. Highly recommend the fish and chips and we ate our weight in oysters. Ten out of ten recommend ✌🏻❤️“

“Jill is the best!! Never fire her!! And make sure she gets a rise!! Jill was our server and she was amazing!! The food was GREAT, I got the fisherman’s platter and shared it with my friend and it was still enough for a meal!! If you are ever in Portsmouth you had better come here!! Without Surf Portsmouth New Hampshire couldn’t survive!! Also, it’s smart to get a reservation before going!! We came off the road and they still got us in under 5 minutes!“

“This was our first time here in 8 years since it changed from Maxwell’s to Pepper’s. Maxwell’s was a place we visited frequently when in Ogunquit, and we even had my 50th birthday there. We were very apprehensive about going to Pepper’s, and we did not know what to expect! Wow and cool were the first 2 words I thought of when we entered! The place we came to know and love changed, but it was a great change with an awesome bar! Then, we had some drinks, an appetizer, and then our food came. All of it was great, and all the servers and bartenders are wonderful! We definitely recommend the Firecracker Shrimp and Calamari for appetizers, and the whole belly clams and teriyaki tuna for main courses! Everything was fresh and delicious! We are looking forward to our next trip to Ogunquit, and Pepper’s will definitely be on our dining list!“

“oh wow... what a find! We were looking for a seafood restaurant when passing thru the area and the name caught our attention. We had an amazing dinner! We both chose the seafood fettuccine, which was heavenly - incredible pasta and sauce topped with succulent seafood. Desserts were lavender creme brulee and white chocolate cake...Holy cow! Dinner and service were both top-notch.. and we can't wait to return!“

“Dockside is one of my favorite wedding venues to photograph! I've shot many weddings there and I've loved every one of them. The staff is top notch, the grounds are beautiful, and view is unmatched, and during your reception you'll probably be visited by a nosy great blue heron. He's popped up at most of the weddings I've shot there. There are so many wedding venues in Southern Maine, you probably can't do any better than Dockside.“

“Wonderful old-school, Old-Maine place - "Lobsters in the Rough" like we used to have. Ambience - totally relaxed, right on the water. Food - Menu has good variety, the lobsters come in daily, cooked just right. The view across the river to Portsmouth is like no other, plus the river traffic and bridge openings, lobster boats, big ships, tugs, you name it. River breezes tend to keep things a little cooler. I'll be back.“

“Chauncey Creek is always excellent. Now that I live outside the US, I make sure to schedule my visits during the open season. The food (steamers and lobsters) was perfectly prepared and delicious. Even the sides (coleslaw, corn on the cob and onion rings) were amazing. The setting on Chauncey Creek, with a view toward Portsmouth Harbor really adds to to the ambience. And the stars are all super welcoming, efficient and friendly. This is our go-to destination for exceptional seafood in a classic, rustic setting.“

“I have been eating there for years. I went the other night because I was craving scallops. I got my usual scallops and tried to substitute o-rings for fries. The girl told me it wasn't allowed. No substitutions. I was willing to pay for the upgrade. No go. I live in the area and there are a lot of other options which I'll be trying.“

“We live on Cape Cod, but we travel up to Ogunquit area a few times each year and it’s never ever a trip until we get to Billy‘s chowder House. It’s awesome. Love the food, friendly atmosphere just a blast to be there not to mention the rum punch.“

I tried a bite of my boyfriend’s clam chowder as well which was also delicious but the bisque was 🤤😍 We will definitely be back!!!! Our waitress was very attentive and so sweet!!! “I had the haddock sandwich with french fries and they were absolutely delicious. I’ve eaten there several times in the past and have never been disappointed with the food. The staff was friendly and very attentive, and we received our food promptly. I must say, however I don’t appreciate the preset minimum tip starting at 20%, that seems rather high for food served in a cardboard basket… The next time I go—- I’ll use the custom tip percentage and assign the appropriate amount…“

“The food was delicious the staff was kind and accommodating although it is labeled as handicapped accessible and that is a bit of a stretch, the supposed ramp out front is more of a sidewalk hill it’s very steep and took 2 of us to get my sons wheelchair up over the curbing and inside. Then they sat us outside on the patio which we were ok with except for the fact to get there we walked down the road to the end of the property to go through the fencing they had to remove the boards of the fencing to access and took 3 of us to push and pull at the same time to get into. It was extremely tight maneuvering to get settled comfortably at the table. (My sons an adult 34 yr old man) we did have a nice dinner once we got settled I just wish they’d had smoother handicap access if the wheelchair person was alone they wouldn’t be able to get in“

“We came in for an early lunch. Had the place to ourself for a while. Food was amazing. I don't generally care for fried seafood. It's almost always over cooked. Browns was the exception. My scallops were perfect. Still juicy and flavorful not dried out. We'll be back again and again and again. The chowder here is one of our favorites 😍“
