“Nonesuch has been one of our favorite sports since it opened. This evening we had a party of 12 for my son’s 8th birthday (his choice of location). Even though they don’t take reservations, we called ahead on Thursday to let them know we would have a big group coming. We waited just a couple of minutes for the table, our food and drinks were amazing and the service was fantastic. We have some particular eaters in our party and all were very happy. This experience made me love Nonesuch that much more as I can fully appreciate that serving a big group this well is not easy! Thank you to our server and the team tonight!“

“Food was absolutely wonderful, tacos were some of the best I have ever had, shrimp seasoned and grilled perfectly. Fries crisp and hot. My friends raved about their food as well. Our waitress was friendly and very accommodating. Will definitely be back!

Parking: Location was a little tricky to find coming from the Maine Mall. The entrance to the restaurant was not marked.

“We had a lovely lunch here to celebrate a birthday. The chef created dishes that looked—and tasted—outstanding. One person in our party remarked that it was the best burger she has ever had. The clams melted in my mouth, the drinks were great, and the dessert was decadent. The space is bright with a spectacular view. We could see Mt. Washington and the beach from our table.“

“We just left there after having the fried whole belly clams. Absolutely delicious! It’s the cutest place to hang out and have some great seafood. The staff is friendly too! We had gone to another(big)place in the area the night before and we were very disappointed . Luckily we found the Salty Bay! today! I love the seating out back with the beautiful view and the Tavern on site where they serve drinks is great. Nice set up! We’ll be back!“

“Personally, I’m not a big fan of leaving reviews after dining at a restaurant, but I’m going to make an exception for this place. The food I had here could easily rank in the top 10 meals I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Everything was so flavorful, fresh, and well-made, yet fairly priced. The only downside is that I live too far away from Portland; otherwise, I would visit this place very often. I want to say thank you to the owner and staff for such a wonderful experience. I’ll do my best to plan another trip to Portland just to come back.“

“We were on a weekend in nearby Maine when we realized North Conway was closer than the restaurant's in our town so we head over knowing how great this place was from a previous visit. They did not disappoint, service was excellent and the food was great again! Loved it!“

“The ambiance and the food were amazing. The service could have been better, but I recognize they were slammed on a Saturday night. We had a reservation and still had to wait 25min for our table, however, there is a very nice full service bar/lounge area to wait so it wasn't a deal breaker. “Last month our flight to Portland was delayed a considerable amount of time due to weather issues and it looked as though we would not be able to make our 5p.m. reservation. My daughter called from the tarmac in Boston where we were rerouted and refueled and explained the situation. The hostess, Susie, was very understanding and compassionate And said that even though our table was booked for another party a 7, we should come in and she would see what she could do. We got there late but Susie greeted us warmly and told us not to worry about being rushed that she had arranged things so no one would be inconvenienced. The atmosphere was warm and cozy; the food so very delicious and our waitperson, Anika, was the best. Atmosphere, impeccable service, food and warmth all rate 5 stars and another visit next time we are in Portland.“

“Every time I go to a new city I try to find a nice place to have a cigar and relax. This place is JUST the spot for that. You can have coffee or liquors depending on what you want with your cigar, and the people are lovely. Wonderful atmosphere and the perfect way to kick off a vacation.“

“Our Garden Suite was awesome! Super comfortable and well appointed, awesome soaking tub, the nicest robes, great views and quick walk to the beach. Loved how dog friendly it is. Dog bowls, dog blanket, dog towel, ball, poopie bags and a giant biscuit greeted our pup. Dogs are even allowed in the tavern. Hot chocolate and cookies in the lobby at night. Chocolates in the room. Free use of the steam room and experience shower in the spa for guests. Staff is great! That’s just to name a few things that makes the Inn by the Sea great! We can’t wait to go back!“

“This little hole in the wall restaurant was a great surprise. It's a short walk from the main area of OOB and is located right on the beach. The tables are literally set in the sand. Beyond that is dune grass and the ocean. I had the best tacos in my life! They featured cole slaw, pulled chicken and sweet Thai chili sauce. Delicious!“

“Oh My God what a gem this place is! First off when you walk in it smells incredible. I had the Godmother grilled cheese. It was so good I couldn't hold a conversation......or maybe it was their margaritas!! Anyway the sandwich was unbelievable and the "secret sauce" on the side for dipping is something I didn't think I needed but ended up wanting to be buried in!“

“Just returned from our first time in Old Orchard Beach and Birdie's was BY FAR our best meal there. This is REAL home cookin'. Homemade iced tea, mashed potatoes that taste like your momma made 'em and a lovely and attentive server named Jody(?) that made us feel very taken care of. No frills or ocean views, but I'm shocked that this place doesn't have better reviews. I regret not having every meal there.“

“This is a very big and specious restaurant with a gaming area, we came here dinner. I got the fish and chips, the Haddock was absolutely delicious. My friend got the steak and cheese which looked amazing and was yummy too. I had a Margarita and it was made just right, not watered down. We did not check out the pool tables but looked like it would have been a wonderful fun experience. Maybe next time. They have parking in the back of the restaurant, the street parking spots are always full. There’s a public parking garage about 3 minutes walk across the street. Overall, good restaurant, highly recommend.“
