“I am a coffee enthusiast, who is getting a bit more into snob territory, and I have Hyperion to blame. I found Hyperion years ago by chance, and said “This is the best coffee I’ve ever had. I never even knew coffee could taste THIS good!” Now I’ve gone and bought coffee from several places, beans and drinks too. As I write this, I actually have 6 bags of various different coffee beans from places, each unique vendors… except for the two I got from Hyperion. I’ve yet to find ANYONE who has beaten them. Some have come close, some may have them beat in other ways. But ultimately, Hyperion makes THE best coffee I have ever had. I have tried to find someone who can best them and have not found them. I cannot recommend Hyperion enough. They ignited a passion for me, and continue to provide the utmost excellence in coffee. Oh, and they finally sold the banana guava beans! I’m SO excited to see how they turn out at home!“

You grab your own tray and tongs and then are able to walk through and check out all the pastry selections. As a student at UofM I will be frequenting it whenever I need a coffee near State St.This time I got an earl grey tea latte (9/10, the milk was a little too foamy, but it tasted subtle and sweet, enhanced by a little simple syrup) and their seasonal special, the maple star anise latte (10/10, the flavor combination created a caramel-like texture, the milk was perfectly hot and textured well, and the espresso tasted like it was dialled-in that day).The only improvement that needs to be made is that the front door handle is loose and finnicky.“

“I'm a big fan of the Misfit group, which also runs Social Misfits and The Foolery in Grand Rapids, where I live. I knew they had a coffee shop in Ann Arbor but hadn't been in to check it out until recently. I was in between shifts and needed a pick me up as well as a spot to get some work done, and Misfit Society was the perfect spot. I was able to get a metered street parking spot right out front, and was welcomed in right away. The menu includes some fun latte options like a PB&J latte! I asked for a recommendation and went with the powder puff latte, which has orange & cinnamon-cayenne syrup. The latte was really good and I liked that the syrup actually had a bit of a kick to it. I didn't taste a ton of orange but I enjoyed this unique latte. They also serve some food and pastries, and there is plenty of room to spread out and work. Outlet arrangement didn't seem super optimal, but I'm sure you can plug in near a table if you ask nicely. I hung out for a couple of hours and even had to take a work call - luckily it wasn't very busy. I did notice that the wifi seemed a little slow at times, but I was still able to use Yelp and email, etc. I loved that the music was quiet and ambient. I'm really glad I got to check out the third member of the Misfits family and will definitely be back in the future.“
“I am a raw vegan and very sensitive to anything that is not pure and natural. I found Arbor Tea and ordered some organic green decaffeinated tea. I fasted for three mornings testing it. Today is the fourth day and I am so excited to wake up looking forward to drinking it again. I have had no adverse reactions to it at all. It balances me out all day and I sleep so much better at night. Arbor teas are tested for heavy medals, etc...and their packaging is excellent made with non toxic material. I live in Arizona but I when I came back in town yesterday had to come back for the Ruben. Even brought two of my friends with me and they loved it. The service from two months ago was okay but not like before. The two people who made my experience great was not there but hope when I come back in town to see them again. But two months ago with it being my first time there the service is excellent. Went in and the black chick that was there was always smiling and very friendly. When she did not know something she made it clear she did not know and talked to the manger John I think his name was and he explained everything to the max and was very clear. They were the perfect team and her smile made me really feel welcomed there and glad that I choose to come in. Definitely will be back as long as I there is a friendly smile as warm as hers there.
