“I can comfortably state that this is generally some of the best ice cream in Metro Detroit. Top five. The reason is that they offer a dairy-free option that is more than tasty. In fact, I have driven six or 7 miles out of my way just to purchase when I’m in the mood for ice cream.Their choices change over the years, but generally they have had chocolate and vanilla options made out of both soy and/or rice milk. If you choose, you can then add any ingredients just like any other traditional dairy product. Although this may sound small, this is still difficult to find at a reasonable price.Even though it is approximately 1/2 drive-through and 1/2 window service, the employees move swiftly. Pricing is what you would expect within our local community, so it is fair and reasonable. “Went there for a blue moon shake and a strawberry banana smoothie. While making it, the slush machine went down. The workers were so incredibly nice and kind. They did not have creamer in the condiment station (red flag for me; I don't do mini moos). However, they offered to pour in real half and half for me, that they store behind the counter. It was a sloppy heavenly sandwich that tasted like authentic Italian beef and sausage (combo) I grew up with. Was about $15 per sandwich and worth every single penny. It's enough for two people, but why share? With flavors that good, you'll wish you ordered your own...or even another one to go! I did. I've been looking for an authentic Italian beef place since I loved to Detroit in 1980. I've finally found it. The shoestring fries are also worth the $5, so get some of those, too. It’s very small and has two windows, one for ordering and paying and one for pick ups. It’s the type of place you grew up with, because their used to be one in every neighborhood. They use guernsey farms dairy so I feel good about shopping local, plus it's really high quality. I have been getting lavender honey in the meantime, which is good but miss my pb cookie dough!“
