“If you are a Kpop fan and love with the Korean culture then this is the place for you! It’s one of the few places in Michigan where we Kpop fans can gather and connect with each other! I was just there and the cafe allowed Kpop fans of ASTRO to do a vigil memorial for the death of Moonbin! I wanted to do something to say my goodbyes to the artist and I seriously appreciated that they provided that space for people to do that and other Kpop events! “I came to Umai Café in Troy for my birthday because I really wanted to try their soufflé pancakes — and they did not disappoint! They were light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. We also tried the sando, which was just as good — flavorful and satisfying.

The café itself has such a cozy, welcoming vibe, and the staff were very kind. The only small hiccup was that the posted hours said they open at 11:30, but they didn’t open until 12:00, so keep that in mind if you’re planning an early visit.

Overall, it was a wonderful birthday treat, and I’ll definitely be back to try more from their menu!“

“My experience at The Espresso House was excellent overall. We found this spot online, and it is truly a hidden gem. The atmosphere was very masculine and spacious, with large televisions showcasing different soccer games. Very cool to have if you’re a soccer fan. The service was also amazing. The man who helped us was not only welcoming, but also very kind and patient. Regarding our drinks, they were delicious. My caramel latte had just the right amount of sweetness. I would definitely recommend this cafe if you are looking for a nice drink.“

There is also a little extra parking on the street if you find the lot full (which it often is). there’s a Tim Hortons just next-door with all of their windows covered in brown paper. (They are actually closed)

“Monarch Market Cafe has become a staple of Huntington Woods, MI. As a resident of the neighborhood, promoter of small businesses and an avid coffee lover, this is my go to spot for a delicious latte or a quick bite to eat. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff are super friendly and their diverse menu has something delicious for everyone. I wholeheartedly recommend stopping in to experience this amazing, local cafe.“

“Been here a few times already but I love coming back with new people to try it. We got the classic cotton cake and the ube cotton cake. The ube is my favorite and the flavor blows me away every time. The cotton cakes are so light and fluffy. We got a cotton candy frappe and a cookies and cream frappe to go with the cotton cakes and those were a bit disappointing. They weren't really blended well and tasted like a melted vanilla ice cream with a hint of the flavor. Not frozen at all. They looked pretty though.
Side note to mention that the bathroom door button lock had fallen off and the employee helped me find it and put it back on but they are aware it needs to be fixed.
I plan on continuing to come back to this place as the cotton cakes never disappoint“

“This is a family owned resturant in Highland Park. The food is fresh and made to order. The service is welcoming and feeling your being serviced by a member of your family. There is no indoor seating but when the weather is nice the small outdoor seating space is very nice. Highly Recommend. 😀“

“This is my go to loacal bakery from savory to sweet they have it all they make bread fresh all day long and at some of the best prices as well. There prices are amazing as well. “I’ve been driving past this place everyday for the last year and just recently stopped in and haven’t stopped since. I am always greeted when I walk in and the women are super helpful. My first time she explained the entire menu to me and all the options. Even told me what bagels just came out of the oven. And when I tell you it was UNREAL I mean it! Egg and sausage sandwich on Asiago was so fresh and so tasty. I’ve gone a handful of times since and ever single time I walk out in a better mood. Elaine’s has amazing bagels and their hazelnut coffee is unmatched. You got yourself a regular. I recommend this place to anyone!“
