“The food is delicious, the service is stellar, the ambiance is somewhat energetic but generally not loud, and the community engagement from this establishment is impressive to say the least. Every year, we look forward to the annual Yule Ball in East Grand Rapids and Jose Babushka's turns into the Leaky Cauldron where menu items are substituted with fun names, bust out amazing decorations, and they serve butter beer (both with alcohol and non-alcoholic varieties). Always a great experience here and I never regret dining at Jose Babushka's.“
“The calamari was perfect, the mussels were average, the crab cakes were good but all finely shredded no lump crab, some what disappointed with that. Salmon was perfect, tartar sauce just ok,( we like a more tart sauce with fresh dill, capers, and pickles) as was the green beans and rice. Great Caesar salad and dinner rolls. Samantha our waitress was spectacular. We would definitely go back again.“
“I love coming to pursuit of happiness! Their staff is always welcoming, bubbly, and knowledgeable. The cocktails and toasts keep me coming back every time. The atmosphere there is very fitting for East Town. If you’re looking for a new go to spot, this is it!“
“Love West Side Social! Easy waitlist to place your name on instead of waiting in line at the restaurant. They do a great job being friendly, serving great foods and offering specials weekly. I am a vegetarian and their homemade veggie burgs is absolutely delicious!“
“Food - Our absolutely favorite spot in town! Hands down, top 3 burger contendor in GR. Amazing staff - kind and friendly, all good at mixing up a drink! You have to try a "Rob bomb". Atmosphere - This team really knocks it out of the park. Always an awesome vibe with lots of live entertainment! All in all, an amazing establishment. Definitely what Grand Rapids needs!“
“I love it here!!! I was surprised the first time that I came when they were new, that we had no wait. They greet you outside to check ID's and to let you in only if there is space. There was no table available for us, but there was room at the bar. We gladly accepted. The bartenders were phenomenal - very attentive and helpful, made good drinks, obviouslyyyyy! I tired the PVPD and absolutely loved it. Very beautiful drink and very delicious. The drink names are fun and playful, and very fitting for the place.I can't wait to come back for food. It looked good, and if it is as good as the drinks, I am sure I'll be impressed. The atmosphere is great - I love all the neon going on, it is very lively and kind of gives club vibes, but it is a pretty small, intimate place. Overall, I'd recommend!!Parking: There are plenty of paid parking lots in the area, but there is also a lot of street parking, some metered, but mostly free.“
“Was there March 21 for lunch. Terrific food and service. The chicken satay salad was great. They had a fantastic selection of dark beers. The Good Moed being my favorite. Good service despite being busy with March Madness. Highly recommend it.“
“Nicest workers EVER! Was on a trip to the Grand Rapids area and stopped on a recommendation from my daughter. They were closed but they served us anyways knowing we had intentionally come there. The blueberry lavender lager was delicious as well as their sour. Thoroughly enjoyed them on the patio. Thank you Speciation for your hospitality! Will stop again next time we are in the area (during regular business hours!)“
“Fun activity. Didn't know what to expect but this was cool. They have beverages but food apparently needs to be catered in. No outside drinks allowed. We were greeted and given an explanation of the game. Great outing for groups or even just a few people.“
“Awesome dive bar in GR. Matty was our server and he was seriously one of the best waiters my husband and I have ever had. Little dark inside, don’t remember seeing windows, but plenty of seating at the bar and tables. They had great drinks and drink prices. Pull tabs too! We will definitely “
“Everyone knows what a Beer Flight is, but a Pizza Flight?? Yes please, take my $$$!The beer is always outstanding here, but honestly it's the pizza flight that brings me back over and over again. The fact I can pick 6 different kinds of pizza and not have to settle for one flavor is the best thing ever.I personally think my favorite is the Coney Dog pizza. Why is this not common everywhere. Outstanding! Can't wait for my next trip to Grand Rapids.“
“The food is amazing! The staff are divine. Troy is so knowledgeable and friendly! Jay, Allison, Chris and Brandon made it an excellent experience! it's our sixth time here and it never disappoints. get the house ramen and pork shoulder l, it's the best!“
“Not sure what Trophy Dad is saying, but I was there that same night and seen no issues. Everything he said could be further from the truth. I know the bartender personally and he wouldn't and wasn't doing anything of the sort. It is a very busy place and the workers are always hustling and bustling due to the amount coming in and out. Actually seen the manager out on the floor talking with folks all while helping run food and manage the entire place. Either this guy was at the wrong place or has larger problems in his own personal life and felt the need to take out his problems here. Always have a great experience at this place and love the atmosphere. I'm sure no one will miss the guy, lol.“
“We just love the Vestal Inn and can always expect VERY good food, These folks have a rare Quality and that is they care about you and want you to return. Everyone that we have talked to will try it and so that is what e classify as the "DOMINO EFFECT" as they in return , do the SAME exact thing. KINDA FUNNY! Their Chili dogs are my very Favorite! This place is also our Neighborhood "Comfort Center", however we have friends come as far as Dorr, North Muskegon, Croton and are regulars as well! xoxo- Bonnie H.“
“I enjoyed a delicious oat milk latte and a snickerdoodle cookie. My son had a kids hot chocolate. Friendly staff, warm and inviting atmosphere and tasty drinks. Everything you’d want in your neighborhood coffee shop! Can’t wait to try the cocktails!“
“My first visit, I tried their Sesame Chicken Poutine for the Michigan Street Poutine Challenge. Wish I could've gotten the gravy to go, lol. TastyAlso got the Shot of the Day: American Tea & it was cocktail sized.Had a nice time dining & talking to the bartender/chef.“
“Really wonderful food! I see why the Reuben is a GR winner! Our server was busy but efficient and friendly….A bit loud but fun and friendly atmosphere!Parking: Big lot behind building but was full when I stopped. Street parking was available though:)“
“Me and the family wanted to munch down on some deep dish pizza. So, I flipped out the old Google and typed in "Best Deep Dish Pizza near me" and let me tell you what, they sure knew what I wanted. Big Bob's is by far the best deep dish I have ever had and I went to Chicago once in 1981 to watch A Richard Pryor and Robin Williams lookalike ladies wrestling competition. So I definitely know a thing or two about good pizza, the deep dish variety. The cheese, the sauce, the amount of toppings, and did I mention the cheese? Good. Cause there's a buttload of cheese. Also, they aren't a big place, so you feel super comfy eating like a deranged, feral beast in the corner because you will not be able to help yourself from wolfing this food down quicker than a pack of dogs on a 3 legged cat. So, all in all, make sure you get your next 14 pizzas from Big Bob's, because they know pizza. I only have one negative to say, and that's that there was a very loud, and sliiiightly annoying toddler in the place while we were eating and I wish they could've done something about it. The fact that it was my toddler is completely irrelevant I feel.“
“Charlie's has to be one of my favorite places to eat ever. Super friendly staff, Charlie herself comes by every single time. Wait staff and bartenders are all great. Tracy was our server tonight, possibly the best service we've ever had! The food was also great, especially the mussels and the potato skins. Fried pollack is hand breaded. Smelt battered in house too. Kids Mac and cheese, Charlie brings candy for the kids. What's not to love? If we could, we'd go every week.“
“While drinks in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids have kind of gotten out of control, you can always count on Putt Putts for a good drink at a reasonable price and a low-fuss atmosphere. If you want to just grab a drink with friends, you can't go wrong.“
“First time having dinner @ Terra! Excellent all around. Fabulous dinner, service, and attention to detail!! From the custom menu to two wonderful appetizers- roasted carrots & mussels (see the picture of the menu)Three of us had: Rigatoni Bolognese, Braised Cider Short Ribs, and Seared Scallops!! Outstanding. Even the coffee and dessert! This is another gem in Grand Rapids!!“
“Fast service, friendly staff, and clean. Kid friendly. Not too loud. Menu is fairly basic, but not a bad thing. Enjoyed out meal!Kid-friendliness: Several kids there, including ours. Not out of place, despite being more of a bar. Restrooms were clean.“
“My favorite time to visit is during the Summer when the beach and outdoor tables are open. They bring in live palm trees, very tall, from Florida . They have live bands often and tiki torches. It’s a great experience to sit in the sun, look out over the lake and take in the sunset with my love… not to mention forget your in Michigan lolParking: During the summertime the parking lot fills up fast. They have staff attendants directing cars to a back parking lot as well.“
“Cocktails were amazing, service was good, atmosphere was great. Food was tasty but maybe a little on the heavy side for cocktail appetizer food, eg totally smothered in buttery oily goodness sauce that requires cutting and avoiding drippage on white clothes. Tasty but out of context! I'll be back for more Old Fashions for sure.“
“I can’t say anything bad about a place with tasty margaritas and tasty tacos. There can be a little bit of a wait sometimes, but that’s to be expected when the food is good. You can also order your food to go. They have a nice outdoor section in the summer and have heated igloos out there during the “
“Love coming here especially as it is conveniently located in heartside-downtown Grand Rapids. They have a great happy hour with their california fries and brussels being my favorite. Servers and bartenders always really friendly and never seem impatient or flustered, great service and clean atmosphere. Burgers and cocktails are also great. Although they recently took the chicken and rice bowl off the menu which was my absolute favorite so that was a bummer. They also validate parking in the studio park ramp which was nice before I lived in the area.“
“My little terrier mutt and I love the Pack! The staff are welcoming and friendly with humans while still keeping a vigilant watch on the dogs and their play dynamic at any given time. I honestly prefer visiting during the work week when there are more dogs than people present. I’m confident that doggy daycare here is as good as it gets!Weighing in at 11 lbs, my 8 month old puppy is among the smaller members of the Pack. I am an anxious individual and “helicopter” pet parent, but they have managed to make me feel comfortable leaving him to order quite reasonably priced cheese bread and non-alcoholic beer. The staff make an effort to learn the quirks of each dog and pay attention to behavioral cues that even their owners can miss. In my experience, they are always gentle and fair. The Pack staff consistently demonstrate that they value building relationships with the dogs and humans alike to ensure a hospitable and safe (not to mention clean and playful) environment.“
“Very relaxed no frills dive bar. Don't expect fancy cocktails or a large beer selection, but if you just want a quiet place to grab a beer and chat with folks it's a great spot. The drinks are cheap ($8 for a pitcher of Foster's) and they only take cash but there is an ATM inside. One of the oldest bars in town!“
“We had our first ever charity event here tonight and the ENTIRE staff went above and beyond to make sure the rescue was taken care of. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! We are truly speechless at the amount of support these amazing folks have given us tonight. 10/10“
“Anchor Bar is the quintessential dive bar for Grand Rapids. If you haven't been, you definitely should! Cheap drinks (made strong as they should be) with good music and shows on TV. Plus great service and a surprisingly good Old Fashioned. AND dog (and cat!) friendly! Being downtown on Bridge, parking is limited to mostly paid lots or the few (paid) parallel parking spots.“
“Best cocktail bar in Grand Rapids. They know what they do. I hate reviewing places like this, because they are already better than me. Staff is next level. On several visits the bartender has made off-menu drinks based entirely on my feedback. Atmosphere, music, everything, probably better than anything I would dream up. Doesn't hurt Dr. Bird is easily a top five spirit under $30.“
“The bartenders Mike and Dan are the best, we just moved to the area and were looking for a place to get a few drinks and received the warmest welcome. These guys run a tight ship. Service was incredible, atmosphere was great. Looking forward to spending a lot of time at this place. Cheers ?“
“MY NEW FAV LOCAL! Their Slim Jim has lg stack of smoked juicy ham. The loaded tater tots are crispy. The pickle wontons are also very good. Take out service is quick. Def will keep coming back. I can't wait to try more of the menu items!“
“There were 10 of us dining at Olive's tonight. Wonderful service from Alec; the place was hopping but he was cool, calm, and patient. The food and drinks were wonderful and I felt the bill was very reasonable. We love having this great neighborhood spot.“
“It's a local watering hole (meant in the beat way) and the cutest little dive bar. It has well poured drinks that won't break the bank and is open until 2am. It's super chill, not judgmental, and the type of place where everyone knows everyone else. There is no food but you can bring in outside food.“
“Best food I've ever had at Anna's--Cheddar Cheese Cajun Shrimp and Grits. Thought I'd been transported to San Chez Bistro, it was that good. Get it while you can--it's a special, not a regular menu item. Blew my favorite Breakfast Lasagna right out of the water.) Hubby thought his Traditionalist breakfast was the best he'd ever had, too. And service by Lauryn was stellar--knowledgeable, friendly and attentive.“
“From the moment I first set my eyes on the Ballroom I knew my dream wedding was possible! I cannot even describe how gorgeous the venue is and how every little detail is so beautiful and elevated with the lighting options and color choices! The staff was incredible to work with. They made every bit of my dream come true and helped cater to all my wishes and needs. The whole planning process was quite easy and filled with no nonsense, I couldn’t be happier with how everything came together and worked out! I highly recommend the Mckay Ballroom to anyone wanting an elegant and stunning venue that people will never forget! It gives such a feeling of fanciness and glamour that makes you almost feel like royalty or at least as close as you can get in west Michigan. The ballroom really is something to behold! Also the bridal suite and rooftop room were so convenient and cool looking, just an additional element of wonder and ease. Overall a spectacular venue and wonderful staff! 11/10 would recommend“
“Went to HopCat on St. Patrick’s day weekend during Irish on Ionia. The place was crazy busy but our bartender, Kasey was efficient, patient and so kind. She never made us feel rushed even with how much she had going on. Great service! Thank you Kasey!! ?“
“OMG - went to test out the Beer City Bread Company tonight. A-MAZ-ING food. The prices were very reasonable (we were there for happy hour) and the portions were very generous. Amazing pretzel bites, bruschetta and dips for appetizers. The grainy mustard for the pretzels was unbelieveably smooth and tasty. Mom enjoyed the flavor of her French Dip sandwich. My pulled pork green chili nachos were superlative. No sharing Mom's creme brule (she said it was too good to share) and I enjoyed part of the warm Whiskey Carmel Business cake with walnuts (too full for the ice cream and full slice - but happy to take it to go). Our server Joselyn was on top of it all and very friendly! Prior to our departure we enjoyed some live music too. Totally enjoyable dinner.“
“Overall, this place was pretty good. I got the frozen margarita flight and those were really tasty, but pretty strong and sour. I also got the taco flight which was a little underwhelming. I think something else on the menu would have been better, so I'll be back to try a different entree item. We also got salsa, guacamole, and queso, and all were quite good. Service was pretty fast, but we were there with a larger group on a Sunday at lunch time, so I'm not sure how that is when they are busier. Overall, good food and drinks, so I'll be back at some point.“
“Lot's of bars in Creston Heights with lengthy histories, but Vinny's has changed the least in the last 50 years. Generally, a friendly neighborhood patronage. Reasonably priced drinks. No food, but one of the best Mexican restaurants in town is right next door.“
“I saw a show here which was amazing but the drinks were good. I asked for the closest thing to bud light feeling like an idiot but he gave me something I drank three of and didn't make me feel like one. Thanks guys.Parking: There is a lot with roughly 10 spaces then parking lots around the block that have a ton. I wouldn't use those because it's another business but I could of without issues that night.“
“Cool place to go for sure! Walking distance from JW Marriott about 10, 15 mins easy walk. Nice place cool people, younger crowd but a mix of older too. Fun placeKid-friendliness: Not so much at night, not sure about the day but probably not kid friendly, Id assume. Definitely not at night.“
“Bar food done right - and they have daily specials, like $8 for a burger and fires/tots/onion rings with a draft pint. That is a steal in an economy where most burgers are $16 and fries are extra. Food is good and the drinks are strong. Service is always super quick and friendly. They have pool tables and various games, along with live music on weekends and a comedy show on Wednesdays. There is a small lot in back for parking, or some street parking.“
“PLEASE SUPPORT THIS BAR!! I NEVER been here before, tell today. And the moment I walked I was greated. And unfortunately I wasn't there for drinks, I was in search of a friend who shouldn't be alone right now. And only thing I new was he was at a bar. So I expland to the bartender, asking if he was or by chance here. Unfortunately not, but the bartender she stopped what she had going on and called a few Bars that where open at 1030am to help find him as if it was her friend. Nothing but great vibes, great people, and great bartender. Wish I would have asked her name to give her credit in this review. This place deserves the love. Please stop in play pool get drinks eat have fun.“
“Ganders just hosted us for my husband’s 50th birthday party. We had a group of 30 and the staff were so beyond accommodating and helpful! Sarah and her staff helped us to be ableTo truly enjoy our time with family and friends, and with excellent service, and made payment easy for everyone. Thank you Ganders staff! So grateful for your service today!“
“Excellent customer service and the food is absolutely delicious! Parsley is a hit with my entire family (kids range from 15 months, 4 years to 13). My husband and son love the rice bowls and the littles an myself love the house salad with chicken shawarma. The steak is juicy and tender and also is a family favorite.Kid-friendliness: My kids love the regular adult entrées, garlic sauce, pita and the French fries.“
“We had the absolute best time at metro! The music was great, the drinks can’t be beat, and the staff is beyond words. Thank you for making my bachelorette party one to remember!! We had the best time with you guys! I would recommend to anyone!“
“Haven't been in a while but glad we came in. Service was beyond excellent, food came out fast. Was delicious. A couple of us noted that while the plate was very hot our entrees weren't as hot. Still warm and good though. I'm not really a salsa person but the kind they served with nachos was yummy.“
“Had the fried green tomatoes, chicken biscuit, and the buttermilk chicken salad. The food was excellent and the portions were very generous. Our server, Keegan, was extremely friendly and attentive. Struck up a conversation with the host on the way out and he was a super nice guy as well. This place is doing it right, will definitely be back soon.“
