“We walked in to the Buhl Bar and where greeted by George and Aish they where both so friendly and so full of information. We provided our preferences in taste and allowed George to select and make our cocktails. He nailed our tastes and delivered the best cocktails we have had. “It was quiet when we went on Friday evening, but everyone was nice. They were sadly out of the one food we really wanted to try, but The Goat cocktail made up for it. I'm always happy to try something a little more unique that ends up tasting just as good and better than widely-loved classics. I'd definitely go back to have it again.“

“I visited this past Valentine’s Day weekend and visited again this past Saturday night. I didn’t have a reservation but still got seated very quickly. It was a hot, muggy night and the hostess said she had a seat on the patio which I was fine with. I had a magnificent server, Florence, who was kind, thoughtful to recommend a drink to the person I was with and even when our drinks were brought out within a short time, apologized for the delay (which wasn’t necessary). I wish I could give a review on the party next to us because they were extremely rude, not only not giving consideration to others being on the patio but were also incredibly rude to Florence. One woman in particular was grandstanding in front of this group and demanded to speak to a manager. Florence and the Manager were both composed and dignified in spite of a rude patron that was looking to get her bill comped (for a party of nearly a dozen people) going so far as to threatening to have everyone at her table write a terrible review. I have worked in the service industry and so have so many people I know and love so this situation had me worked up and I felt it necessary to write a review that our experience was magnificent. Don’t be an a-hole to servers of any kind just because you’re an a-hole yourself. If you give respect, you get respect. Go to The Sugar House. Be a good customer.“

“Wonderful Coffee! The hand made syrups were probably the best I ever had. I tried two lattes, one with vanilla lavender and the other with honey cinnamon and they were great! I recommend both of them with oatmilk. The owner was super friendly with my party and I and we had a very nice conversation with her while she made our lattes. Down Under is only FOUR minutes away from the TCF, walking. There is NO reason to ever get Starbucks again while I am in Detroit for Youmacon. A definite must for all the con goers to give them a try!“

“So good! The octopus was the best octopus dish I've ever eaten - it was so tender with a slight crisp and so flavorful. I didn't even get a picture before we dug into it. The pork collar was a great blend of textures and flavors - I got extra bread just to have a delivery vehicle for the peach conserva in this dish. The croquettes were a must too, they packed so much mushroom goodness in them. We got 3 small plates and 4 large plates, which was more than enough for 4 people. Will be coming back again.“

“The pizza is AMAZING! I think I can easily say this is the best Detroit style pizza I have ever had. I first discovered them at pop up they had near Campus Martius, but finally got to go to their new home on Holden. The interior is pretty small, so not best for big groups but a date night or for a party of two is just fine. I wish it was closer to me so I could get take out. We got the Packard Pepperoni and the Mclovin pizza. Both were excellent, I loved the origniality of the Mclovin which was a nod to like a big mac. Anytime I can go again, I definitely will be. Check out this gem if you want to really know what Detroit style pizza is like.“

We have dined at all of the incarnations of this restaurant going back to the original Bronze Door in the 70s - today’s dinner was by far the best meal we have ever had there! We almost did not eat there tonight based on previous experiences but they are close to home and we wanted to dine early. So glad we did! Every dish we had was superb! This was actually my second time, I’ve been before for a friends birthday and we had a different menu…..the pomegranate ribs were mouthwatering delicious. “My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at the Caucus Club, and the entire experience far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was elegant yet comfortable — the perfect balance of class and warmth.

The hostess greeted us with genuine kindness and even gave us a tour of the establishment, which was a nice personal touch. The live music added the perfect backdrop to an already beautiful evening.

For dinner, my wife had the lamb chops, and I ordered the Chicago-aged ribeye. Both dishes were seasoned and cooked to perfection — you could truly taste the quality and attention to detail in every bite.

“My friend and I had lunch at Coriander Kitchen and Farm yesterday 6/23. We came back because we enjoyed our first visit last year so much! However, at this visit the food was not so good. I ordered fish and chips and my fish was overcooked and the french fries were not hot. My friend ordered smelt which were awful and greasy which we sent back. We asked for lemon which never came to the table and our waiter seem to be the only one there and they were busy so I don't think we got the attention that we were due. I know this establishment can do better, so I will be going back. But yesterday's service and food were awful.“

I had to decide between two cocktails and she described them both in detail that helped me make my decision. I decided on one and it was perfectly up my alley and just as she described.
