“We went to Old Pony Martini Bar and loved the atmosphere! It has the feel of a great old neighborhood corner bar, casual, friendly, and welcoming. The service was excellent, and our hamburgers were delicious with hot, crispy French fries. There was nothing better than an ice cold beer on a hot Sunday afternoon. It made for a perfect afternoon. We’ll definitely be back!“

“Been here several times over the last couple of years, it feels like the best place locally to get fresh pasta in GP, especially in the Village/Hill. The food is fresh, flavorful, unique, cooked perfectly, everything you'd expect and want for the cost. They do have a good happy hour that's changed around a few times, it used to be better for drinks and they are ending it earlier at 5pm but it's worth checking out. It can be difficult to get service when it's busy and you're sitting at the bar, plus on a couple of occasions I've seen people get loud and out of hand without any intervention by the management.“

Still, having to eat separately while her food was redone took away from what should have been a special night“

What makes Willow even more special is the shared experience. Being a couple visiting from California—drawn into Detroit to see family but clearly discovering something extraordinary—only reinforced the sense that this place is a destination. Not just locally, but nationally.

“My friend and I had lunch at Coriander Kitchen and Farm yesterday 6/23. We came back because we enjoyed our first visit last year so much! However, at this visit the food was not so good. I ordered fish and chips and my fish was overcooked and the french fries were not hot. My friend ordered smelt which were awful and greasy which we sent back. We asked for lemon which never came to the table and our waiter seem to be the only one there and they were busy so I don't think we got the attention that we were due. I know this establishment can do better, so I will be going back. But yesterday's service and food were awful.“

Most people grabbing coffee in town are in and out with things to do. The person greeted us promptly and made a perfectly warmed hot chocolate for my son which he very much enjoyed. He loved the latte art so much. My mother and I had Carmel lattes and they were the best I’ve had honestly ever. They were very good conversation while making the drinks as well. “We stopped here for lunch to try something different. We tried several items on the menu. The samosas were excellent. The eggplant dish and the chicken marsala were also very good. The fish, not so much. We felt that the ingredient to sauce ratio was off. There was not a lot of protein in any of the dishes. The naan was good too. Lunch for 6 with 3 drinks and 2 coffees, was 220.00. So, very expensy. The atmosphere is neat and there's a pool table.nservice was pretty good too. I would go again. I forgot to take pictures 🫤“

“There's a thing about eastern market. It's alive during the day during market hours and then, it gets quiet. Pocket change was exactly what we were looking for to keep the vibes going! Just on the outskirts of downtown in eastern market. This little high end dive bar keeps dancing. Weekend DJ's and one of the only rooftop bars in the area. The incredible ambiance on the second floor feels like a hidden oasis of what seems to be the biggest spin and twirl of eastern market. I went with a few friends to celebrate a birthday to only feel like we were dancing the night away with the locals of the community. Great cocktails, incredible bar staff.. just ask for a spagett, and you'll feel like one of the locals!

They throw pop ups with surrounding vendors and if you need a late night snack the down stairs has some inedible tasty bites.“

“First time we stopped in they were closed for a wedding until 630. Went back after 630 and were able to get right in. Its mostly standing room only if you dont have a reservation. But that does come with a small table. Views were amazing and the service was awesome! Got the Cana de Carba and it was almost the best thing ive ever eaten!
