“My fiancée and I had a really lovely Valentine’s dinner at Romolo. The interior was cozy, especially with the soft lighting and local art along the interior. It was lively for the holiday, but not cramped.
We started with drinks and the Fritto Misto(not pictured) which was excellent. I had the Rigatoni Lucanica for my entree. The sauce and fennel sausage had a nice heat to them from the banana peppers. It was unique compared to most Italian pasta dishes. My fiancée had the Costolette D’Angnello, which was on a whole other level. The lamb was cooked perfectly at medium rare, very tender and not gamey in the least. The polenta and greens were savory, as well.
They had a special dessert for the evening, Spumoni gelato covered in dark chocolate and pistachio crumbs. The appetizer and entree portions were generous, but we couldn’t say no to such a tempting dessert. The service was warm and attentive from all staff. We’d love to come back and try the pizza next time. Thank you for such a memorable evening!“

“I honestly don't know why it has taken me so long to write a review for Alpino because my husband and I love this place so much! It has become my restaurant of choice to celebrate my birthday for many reasons. I love that they keep the beautiful patio open even during the hottest of days (which is usually what it is for my July birthday), they have the best seasonal menu additions that use local ingredients, and their laid back yet elegant charm is exactly what we always look for. The food is amazing! We love unfussy food that lets the quality ingredients shine and the raclette with a touch of honey just makes me grin from ear to ear (not to mention the tomato soup that is out of this world). The Frulingzauber "spring magic" cocktail is my favorite of all time. I would drink one every day for the rest of my life if I could. Of course, none of this would matter if the people weren't wonderful at Alpino, but they are just as warm and inviting as the food. I loved that they all signed a birthday card for me when we were there last. This is definitely a gem of a place that you don't find everywhere.“

So much attention to detail and making sure my group was comfortable throughout our stay. The chicken alfredo is okay but nothing that stands out from another Italian restaurant. Although two of my group members loved the octopus! They couldn’t stop talking about how good the sauce was and ordered bread specifically to keep trying it. “It's been a while since our last dine in experience as we've been carrying out for a while (they do a great job of grab-and-go). However for Mitch's birthday we decided to dine-in and couldn't have enjoyed a better experience. Mitch had his fave, chicken parmigiana with Angel hair pasta and I had Chicken Olivia - my favorite with artichokes. It was served with sweet pea risotto and roasted veggies. Yum! For dessert Mitch's birthday cannoli was delish. And we added their unique 20 layer cake- that we'll have leftover cake for the rest of the week - so big!! Next visit won't be so long!“

“This review is long overdue.. this is definitely one of mine and my husband’s favorite places to eat. The consistency of the food and service along with the continuity of the staff says so much. Last night I reluctantly tried the steak siciliano because I was raised with my grandma cooking this and I couldn’t imagine eating someone else’s.. let me tell you, it was phenomenal! By far, our favorite menu item and we’ve eaten everything here! Please keep up your standards of food and service here, you guys do it best! The drinks were good and paired really nice with the Tuscan chicken I had that was beyond fresh and very filling. My mom had the lemon chicken, as she described the chicken was very juicy and tender to a T. The portion of the pasta given makes everything great, from the taste and flavor while, if need you could take it home! “Tonight I attended a wedding at C & G and could not be more impressed, and also pissed at myself for not patronizing this welcoming restaurant sooner. I’m lactose intolerant and allergic to chicken. The staff was incredibly accommodating and gracious. This is not often a feeling I receive when bringing up food allergies. The food & drinks were so incredibly tasty and the views were unreal. The Train station, spires of St Anne’s and the Ambassador Bridge all in one shot. Turn to the left and you have the beautifully landscaped Roosevelt park to stroll through after enjoying the back porch. I’m so blown away, and so happy my friend finally got me here! “Oh MAN Rocco's is the place I have searched for in vain until last year when I tried them for the first time. Since that first meatball sub I have had almost every sandwich on the menu and so far not one has disappointed! Today I had the Corner Deli and was transported to Italian paradiso! In case you non-Italians did not know, ciabatta is the Italian baguette and Rocco's bakes many fresh loaves several times per day! Usually it is still warm from the oven even if you get a cold sandwich! There is no better sandwich bread in my progenic-Italian opinion! They are in Midtown on Cass just East of Mack. Try them if you have yet to do so. You will thank the gods!“

“Took my wife for her first time Valentine day we enjoyed the show , not sure what happened with server’s we were given dessert before dinner , dinner was chicken risotto mine was under cooked so I ask could they redo it they was like sure but when it came out it was worse so no dinner for me or my wife, wofe doesn’t like to send food back but I could tell hers was too she only ate the chicken.“

“New menu was amazing. We had the potatoes, the scallops, burrata, and mushroom with shiitake dish. Burrata was hands down my favorite, thing. Perfect combination!! Highly recommend everything I got and the service was perfect, I mean like I finished my water and by the time my glass hit the table it was refilled. This was actually my second time, I’ve been before for a friends birthday and we had a different menu…..the pomegranate ribs were mouthwatering delicious. “The girl at the register is very nice and pleasant on the phone. The pizza was fantastic but the menu online needs to be updated. Every pizza on the list increased 35-45% in price which equates to $6-7 extra per pizza. The large cheese pizza is $19 not $13 the pepperoni is $22 not $15.“

“We ordered a huge catering order. We needed to feed 50 people, this could have fed 80 or more. We had so much leftovers for people to take home- and they loved the food.
