“A friend and I visited this Perkins in Golden Valley since we’re now 56 and had never ordered off the 55+ menu.

I ordered the chicken fried steak off the 55+ menu, which includes two sides. Had the fruit cup and buttered corn. Chicken fried steak was great. All the fruit except the few grapes tasted good, and the corn was spot on.

We also grew up a mile from this location, so it was fun to visit.“

“This is a great place. The owners are cool and fun to talk to. The baked goods are very high quality and affordable. A lot of other bakeries have stuff that tastes like bland butter mixed with sugar but this place has very good flavor. Not too sweet, high quality ingredients. If your tastes buds have graduated past American grade school cafeteria fare, then you might want to avoid what this chain puts out. Bonus points for the self service menu screens cuz no one is going to help you and for the one employee declaring to another how they have the solution to end taxes.“

I just started reading abbys books and they are wonderful read. She also brought my daughter and I sone cupcakes. The strawberry crepe. Is amazing. My daughter and I are hoping to come next spring to get a signed copy of the book that comes out next spring.“

“We were in town this weekend and this place was close to our Airbnb, and let me tell you it did not disappoint! The staff were so friendly and accommodating, it felt more like stepping into someone’s home for a meal than it did a quick trip to a restaurant. “I don't normally write reviews unless I get bad service. But I find this Perkins in Maple Grove MN to be Awesome. This is my families Perkins of choice passing by two others much closer Perkins just to go to the Maple Grove location. Our server Taylor was attentive, polite and very in tune to our groups needs. She is and example of what a waitress or waiter should be. The food was great and the building / bathroom cleanliness was expletory. My hats off to the manager and staff of the Maple Grove Perkins just south of 694 on Hemlock Lane.“

“I recently visited Tous Les Jours to try their pastries and desserts, and it was a really enjoyable experience overall.

Everything looked fresh and visually appealing, almost like a bakery display you’d want to try everything from. I tried a few of their pastries and desserts, and they were light, soft, and not overly sweet, which makes it easy to enjoy more than one item without feeling heavy.

The croissants were especially good — buttery with a nice flaky texture. Their cream-filled pastries were smooth and balanced in flavor, and the cakes had a nice airy texture that pairs well with coffee or tea.

WE had 5 dozen cookies and 4 dozen bars, and at this point, even with only about 80 people, there's maybe a handful of each left and they will be gone before the end of the day. I will definitely order from them for personal and work events again. Andrea was so nice and helpful in getting us set up with such a large order and all of it was so good. The cookies are massive and soft and fresh and the pumpkin streusel bars were tender and flavorful. Really cannot express how happy we are with the service and quality.“

“I love this place! The bakery is fantastic, but I have to practice self control and not go in there every time I come to the grocery store. The grocery store side of the place is a colorful, beautiful, place that just makes me happy when I walk inside. They sell an array of items from cooking vessels, utensils, dishes, to a whole isle of inexpensive spices, fresh produce, meats, and many things specific to Central and South American cooking and cuisine. They have a breakfast/lunch counter with a seating area where you can order an array of authentic cuisine including tacos, beans and rice, burritos and more.“

But after trying Nickola's Bakery cinnamon coffee cake, I can safely say that I have found a superior favorite. Without any doubt a 5 star product from a 5 star bakery. “Right as you walk in, you greeted by all the wonderous aromas of both sweet and savory freshly baked items. I had a very hard time deciding what I wanted. I had missed the information that it was a French Asian fusion bakery, but the signs were there. Red bean buns, instructions on how to use tongs and trays correctly, but the best part was the gentlemen at the counter. They were very welcoming and polite, told me to skip the tip screen (it's rude to tip in asian cultures) and then asked for my tongs with both hands. I was almost gitty with the opportunity to use my Japanese to thank him politely. He automatically responded back in Japanese and then took a step back and smiled wide as he noticed what happened. We had a small conversation and I finally sat down to eat my lunch with my daughter. My daughter and I cleaned our table and returned our trays and with a happy smile the gentlemen wish us a good day and to see us soon. If you have never traveled to Japan, this café will only give you a glimpse, but still, it was a wonderfully surprising bonus to my day. I highly recommend a visit and to visit often!“

“I debated leaving this review, but I think others might feel the same. I’m giving 4 stars because I don’t want to tank the overall rating but honestly, that doesn't reflect my personal experience or that of my friends.

Charging $5 for a single cookie just feels... off. Even accounting for overhead, the actual cost to make one cookie is way* less than $5. That kind of markup feels excessive- especially right now, when so many of us are being nickel-and-dimed from every direction.

I was genuinely excited to have a cookie shop nearby to satisfy those “I just want one good chocolate chip cookie” cravings. But at $5 each, the cookie would need to be exceptional. Instead, it tasted more like something factory-made than homemade, and my friends and I even wondered if they’re baked in-house at all.
Disappointing, to say the least. A more reasonable price could turn this place into a local gem. Right now, it just feels like a missed opportunity.“
