“Came on a Saturday at 2pm and was a little sad to see that they didn’t have any of the vegan loaves of bread, but did get a baguette (contains egg) and it was realllllly good. Everyone knows that gluten free bread is not the same as gluten-filled bread, but this baguette had a nice amount of crunch to the outside and it was perfect with soup. Wish they had more vegan options available as not everyone in our family can have dairy and eggs. But absolutely will be back to hopefully snag some more gf goodies again soon!“

There is a free parking lot right across the street, usually has a few open spaces.

The street also has parking spaces along both sides.

“Came upon this charming little bakery after walking around Lake Bde Maka Ska during a recent visit to Minneapolis and so glad we did.

We almost missed it, as it's in a nondescript office building and from the outside looks like a dentist's office. But once you step inside, it's warm and charming and full of friendly people and excellent baked goods.

I'm a particular fan of Kouign-amann, and wherever I find it, I have to try it. Black Walnut's is lovely - flaky and sweet and buttery without being greasy. They have a classic and a Raspberry Passion Fruit which is definitely worth the extra calories. I also had a Croque Monsieur, so I can say their bread is also lovely. The coffee and service were both good and the pastry case left us wishing we'd be in Minneapolis longer. Looking forward to trying the excellent looking Pan de Suisse next time.“

“The best cookie shop in all of downtown. They are always so flipping soft and sweet (well the ones i choose are) and it's really hard to have just one. My favorites are the chocolate chip and the double chocolate sea salt. Delicious. And they are a staple of downtown, I remember coming here in the late 90s when I was still in high school, they know what they're doing.

Parking: Plenty of parking, but its all paid. Its cheaper if you can find street parking.“

“12/10 recommend. I spotted Mel-O-Glaze out of the corner of my eye and decided I needed to turn around and try it. Their signs were so enticing! Let me tell you… they are not kidding. Best donuts ever! And I have tried a lot of donuts. The apple fritters are out of this world. Doughy, cinnamony, soft, flaky, a slight crunch of glaze. Do yourself a favor and get two (I will be next time!) I’d show you the fritter but I already ate it all. So here’s a peek at the chocolate frosted.. YUM! Will definitely return anytime I’m near 🍎🍩“

Heather’s pies were delicious and her customer service was exceptional! She even gave us one of the pies for free as a congratulations gift to our family! “Great selection of baked goods, as well as breakfast and food options! They have such a large variety of treats. You can find yourself easily taking home a lot if not careful.

I'm not the biggest fan of the coffee, simply due to the limitations offered. There isn't really any speciality drinks offered, so if you're good with the expected kinds of options (i.e. espresso, mocha, tea, black, etc;) it should be no problem.“
