This is likely because it's a family-owned and operated restaurant rather than a chain. For example, one time they accidentally made too many margaritas, so we got some free drinks without even asking!Secondly, the menu here is more diverse than your typical Latin American restaurant. For example, this is the first time I've had a whole grilled Tilapia (the Mojarra Frita) since I was in Guatemala, and it was fantastic! “I never order corn tortillas. I have always been a flour tortilla kind of guy. Corn tortillas tend to fall apart while taking bites of your tasty taco. I will never eat corn tortillas, unless they’re from Nixta. They offer the best tortillas I have ever had! Amazing texture, taste, and most important, strength. We got their takeout box for NYE and everything was amazing! The chipotle salsa needs to be bottled. When I ordered, the site said it served 2-4. They weren’t lying. We had tacos on NYE and NYD. 1000000% recommend.“

It's a make-line style build your own type of restaurant and the line workers pushed the line through at a good speed. I ordered a steak bowl which had a good ratio of meat to toppings.I wish I could have gotten a margarita, me and one of my friends were bummed because one of the main reasons we came was to try the frozen margaritas. Yet they were out of it completely.. There are also canned seltzers but I opted for a limeade that was tart and refreshing. “I have lived in this area for a long time and seen countless restaurants try and fail to make this building work and it for a while was generally regarded to be a cursed location.I moved away 3 years ago but was diving by and noticed it wasn't the old BBQ place (which was half decent). Stopped in and picked up some tamales to go (pollo verde and birria). They had some ready right by the door so it was easy in/out. The red one is a soft burn (like LA Estrella) but stays foe your next bite. The green is mild and feel your tongue do a happy dance! My Modelo Especial was icy cold-PERFECT! Daughters tamale was soft, doughy and so flavorful with the chicken it was insane (at least she shared unlike hubby). This place may look shabby but it's very clean. The service is quick and food is inexpensive. We ordered a boatload of food and it was a total of 30.00!!!! If you're a Mexican food snob, this place will NOT disappoint!“

Tromperia El Zac is located off Rice St. There is quite a good amount of parking behind the building, but it may be difficult for those with mobility issues.Our family stopped in and snagged a variety of delicious items. Al pastor tacos are a must try! We also tried the quessbirra tacos, carnitas burrito, and tinga tostada. Food was made fresh, and service was quick. “Great late night eatery. My husband and I stopped here after a comedy show to get something in our bellies, and we were not disappointed. Drinks were refreshing, I had the baby cita mocktail. We shared the chips & signature salsas and queso. Loved the crispiness of the chips. He had the sandwich cubano while I had the chicken tamal (delicious!!!) and the grilled steak taco. The space is quite small but well laid out with a little bar at the entrance, exposed kitchen beyond that and table/booth seating opposite. It's decorated nicely. Not over the top, cheesy/cheap, like some similar restaurant. One thing I love is the variety on the menu. This is not a "Mexican" restaurant. While they have Mexican cuisines, there is a heavy focus on El Salvadoran and Guatemalan fare as well. The service was excellent. Fast and friendly. This location is located in Brooklyn Center where the checkers & Rally used to be. There is a drive through and a spacious free parking lot. The decor is beautiful but the seats aren't super comfortable. Although the food was great I prefer the food truck, because it just tastes better to me. It's also complementary so can you really complain lol? My go to is the carnitas which is so full of flavor and absolutely delicious. This time I went with on a suggestion by our server the Sopes. They let me pic a couple different meats to top it too. I went with the Al pastor and birria shredded beef. Absolutely lovely and the pineapple in the Al pastor was so fresh. Amazing! My wife got the ceviche and said the flavor was good and her only complaint was that the shrimp was over cooked. So a bit of a downer their and not raw fish like most. So ok but not their best. My mother in law got camarones your way with the spicy sauce. This if you like spice it was a home run. Delicious flavor and large quantities of everything. Very good. My son got the carne asada burrito and it was huge. He loved it. His only complaint (he could live off beans) was that there was not enough beans. He said it would also be better if they were black beans instead of refried. My little 8 year old food critic lol. No joke of you are looking for good quality Latin food that is reasonably priced this is a great place to go. Never been disappointed.“

The bathrooms are down the hall in the basement and there is an attached grocery store with a very limited selection of items. Like just the essentials and some candy. Prices are reasonable too.“

They were mopping the floor all around him.Despite the good food, they made it very unsafe for this older gentleman.Why would they actually mop the floor when there's a disabled person who's obviously having trouble walking. The 3 meats I tried (steak, chorizo and ground beef) all tasted good but in my opinion, there are better options available nearby in the taste department. “This food truck sits in the corner of the parking lot of the former Kohl's/current temporary USPS. From what I can tell, it's open everyday from lunch to late night. Whenever I drive by it seems to be open! You can park basically right next to the food truck - super convenient. There's not places to sit but you can take it somewhere else or sit in your car! I went for the first time recently and ordered 2 mulas and a mandarian Jarritos all for $10. They take cash and card. The food came out really quickly. I've never had a mula before and I really loved it! I got lengua and asada. It was generously filled with the meat and was also cheesy with a crisp but soft tortilla. It came with 3 different salsas which were spicy but so good! Overall really solid Mexican street food. Looking forward to future trips here!“

“So I walked into the place and looked at the menu and set up and immediately my mind was like because I can't leave a restaurant that I've already walked into. BUT I am so glad that I ended up ordering. The set up is assembly like chipotle, but the food actually has flavor and taste unlike chipotle. For some reason they sell boba which was unexpected but it was pretty good. Mangonada was good too. Birria was so so but all in all it was a nice find for north suburbs. The pollo tinga were a little dry but a squeeze of lime and two flavorful salsas on the side fixed that right up. The Al pastor taco was bomb, would do all 3 of that next time.
