“I never order corn tortillas. I have always been a flour tortilla kind of guy. Corn tortillas tend to fall apart while taking bites of your tasty taco. I will never eat corn tortillas, unless they’re from Nixta. They offer the best tortillas I have ever had! Amazing texture, taste, and most important, strength. We got their takeout box for NYE and everything was amazing! The chipotle salsa needs to be bottled. When I ordered, the site said it served 2-4. They weren’t lying. We had tacos on NYE and NYD. 1000000% recommend.“

“The BBQ pork bahn mi sandwich was an absolute delight! The mix of tender pork, fresh veggies, and crusty bread was just heavenly. It's a must-try for anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal. Vellee really nailed it with this sandwich!“

“Grabbed a late lunch here with a few friends before a concert and it was so delicious! It's a make-line style build your own type of restaurant and the line workers pushed the line through at a good speed. I ordered a steak bowl which had a good ratio of meat to toppings.I wish I could have gotten a margarita, me and one of my friends were bummed because one of the main reasons we came was to try the frozen margaritas. Yet they were out of it completely.. There are also canned seltzers but I opted for a limeade that was tart and refreshing. I was also in awe of the beautiful artwork and snapped a quick pic of my favs.Vegetarian options: Friendly for meat lovers and veggie lovers“

“I have lived in this area for a long time and seen countless restaurants try and fail to make this building work and it for a while was generally regarded to be a cursed location.I moved away 3 years ago but was diving by and noticed it wasn't the old BBQ place (which was half decent). Stopped in and picked up some tamales to go (pollo verde and birria). They had some ready right by the door so it was easy in/out. Reheated great and really hit the spot.I think I'll be going out of my way to come back here.“

“Really excellent food, and friendly and fast service. I accidentally left my credit card when we ate there, realized it two days later, called, and they'd found it and held it in their safe and we're able to return it to me. Would highly recommend this place, though it gets a little loud inside when it's busy.“

“I love the ambiance at this place. It's great for both date nights and/or group fine dining experience. My favorite is their Salsa sampler/flight. Food and drinks are a bit on the pricey side but I'd say it's pretty worth it. Great service too.“

“I'm a fierce and loyal Mexican foodie. I'll drive or walk thousands of miles for an excellent taco, burrito, etc. ENTER el taco riendo. Recommended by one of the workers at a thrift store daughter and I shopped at. Off we go! Wow! First, it's literally a hole in the wall and man, I'm feeling lucky! Always, always the best places! We order and of course, over order. The guacamole is chunky with tomatoes, garlic and cilantro-the avocado flavor is perfectly balanced! Smooth taste with the obvious homemade chips! SWOON! My tostado is Mexican style with onions, cilantro and Carne. The meat is uber tender and falls apart in my mouth as it melds with the corn tortilla and other ingredients. The taco? ☺️ WOW. the best one I had was at a beach shack on cozumel. This is 2nd. Again, Mexican style. The onions don't overpower the rest and never leaves a hot taste. THE SALSA? 2 kinds. The red one is a soft burn (like LA Estrella) but stays foe your next bite. The green is mild and feel your tongue do a happy dance! My Modelo Especial was icy cold-PERFECT! Daughters tamale was soft, doughy and so flavorful with the chicken it was insane (at least she shared unlike hubby). This place may look shabby but it's very clean. The service is quick and food is inexpensive. We ordered a boatload of food and it was a total of 30.00!!!! If you're a Mexican food snob, this place will NOT disappoint!“

“There is nothing better than good food with great company. Tromperia El Zac is located off Rice St. There is quite a good amount of parking behind the building, but it may be difficult for those with mobility issues. Our family stopped in and snagged a variety of delicious items. Al pastor tacos are a must try! We also tried the quessbirra tacos, carnitas burrito, and tinga tostada. Food was made fresh, and service was quick. Prices are a bit steep but absolutely worth every penny. We will be placing this on our must have again rotations.“

“Wow...what an IMPRESSIVE dining experience! It's been a long time since we have enjoyed a night out so much. Food 'Molcajete Mexicano' was packed full of flavor and Jorge (bar tender) who waited on us was EXCEPTIONALLY kind; made us feel more like family vs patrons. And the margarita 'Texas Jumbo' was super delish! All of the staff we encountered were incredibly gracious and prompt to respond to any request. We will be back! Bravo El Loro!“

“Brito’s in Monticello is fantastic. Each burrito comes with a warm, homemade tortilla. The portions are huge and all the toppings are fresh and delicious. The service is fast and the price is super reasonable. Better than Chipotle, Q’doba or Bluestone! My husband and I are obsessed- we go here all the time and are never disappointed!“

“Oh my gosh! This is absolutely my favorite Taco place. I ordered the Quesabirria and it was to die for! The quality was high and the price was reasonable. The juice to dip it in was delicious as well.Service was quick, and there was no wait to order. Plenty of seating and it certainly looks like an authentic Mexican restaurant - good food with mediocre decor. I will absolutely be back! Weekly?! We’ll see!“

“Great late night eatery. My husband and I stopped here after a comedy show to get something in our bellies, and we were not disappointed. Drinks were refreshing, I had the baby cita mocktail. We shared the chips & signature salsas and queso. Loved the crispiness of the chips. He had the sandwich cubano while I had the chicken tamal (delicious!!!) and the grilled steak taco. Wasn't a fan of how the taco was presented, it looked very sloppy, but tasted great. All the food was flavorful and tasty! Would recommend. :)“

“Went to try the birria tacos. Our group decided to share a few items for more variety. Had never had pupusas, we tried three flavors. Birria tacos were amazing. Pupusa were also very good, liked adding the slaw and sauce for more depth. The flautas were huge servings. Beans were the best I’ve had in the cities. Tasted just like my friends moms beans from Mexico. Ended the evening with the churro which were also incredible. Fresh with a hot sweet center. Great prices, very clean and inviting sit down restaurant and couldn’t beat the service. Beautiful back drop for photos at the front. Can’t wait to come back.“

“We came to El Aguila for a late dinner, hungry and looking forward to settling down for a good meal. The restaurant was empty, quiet and calm. We were seated quickly, and served complimentary crispy chips and spicy salsa while we looked over the menu. The menu was pretty extensive, with many options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The prices were quite high, around $15-$20 per item, definitely a bit much but we decided to give it a chance. We ordered a burrito and a combo that had papusas and tamales, a good amount of food to share. The food came quickly and was hot, delicious, and well-presented.We left happy with our order, though feeling like it may have been a bit overpriced. We hope to come again some time and try breakfast perhaps. ?“

“I'm impressed Overall, I've heard nothing but rave reviews about Mrs Taco and was excited to check it out. The space is quite small but well laid out with a little bar at the entrance, exposed kitchen beyond that and table/booth seating opposite. It's decorated nicely. Not over the top, cheesy/cheap, like some similar restaurant. One thing I love is the variety on the menu. This is not a "Mexican" restaurant. While they have Mexican cuisines, there is a heavy focus on El Salvadoran and Guatemalan fare as well. The service was excellent. Fast and friendly. The owner, Vanessa, walks the dining area and checks in with every guest. She really creates an intimate experience. The food was awesome. Everything was authentic, fresh, and homemade. I highly recommend checking this place out.“

“Sadly overlooked and sorely underrated. Best place in MPLS for tacos and nachos. I can’t say for sure how “authentic” it is but that makes no difference to me. The food is solid. Nachos are fantastic. All the tacos are good. I feel the market is flooded with tasteless Mexican food but this place is an exception. The service is kinda odd though. Everyone is very friendly but there seems to be no service plan or guidance or control or system (for lack of better terms). I always stand around looking aimless waiting to be seated. And if you need a beverage refill it’s gonna be a while. However, because of the nachos they could punch me in the face every time I walked in the door and I’d keep coming back.“

“Google Maps had me turned around a couple of times, but I am so glad I persevered.I am Twin Cities based. For reference, on business, I eat hundreds of meals in restaurants, in scores of cities around the world each year.I was craving Mexican and picked this quite randomly by Google review alone, late on a Sunday afternoon.I had second thoughts when I pulled up, nobody was there. But I persevered again on review alone. My Torta ( al pastor ) was absolutely perfect. The sauces that accompanied were on a different level of fresh and balanced flavor dynamic.I just wanted some Mexican.I didn't dream I would be thrilled.I sit here and look at the empty plate and contemplate.Should I tell everyone or keep this one to myself?I am beyond puzzled as to why I could be the only one here with food this great.I am only telling you for selfish reasons.I want to see them THRIVE even if I have to stand in line next time. This is absolutely as good as it gets at this price point.Homemade. From scratch. The family business vibe makes me realize the great value.Do yourself a favor!!!“

“We love all taco, we usually go to the food truck located in crystal but we decided to try the taqueria. We ordered our usual favorites and waited 10-15 mins for our food. This location is located in Brooklyn Center where the checkers & Rally used to be. There is a drive through and a spacious free parking lot. The decor is beautiful but the seats aren't super comfortable. Although the food was great I prefer the food truck, because it just tastes better to me. Regardless we're always going to support one of our favorite place to get tacos!!“

“We had breakfast here and thought it was good, but could have been a little better. My wife really liked her chilaquiles, but thought it could have used some eggs, more chicken (she had to search to find it) and maybe a few chips on the side so there could be more crunch. I had the mushroom cemitas sandwich and really enjoyed it. There was a good heat to the sandwich and it was very filling. I also had the spicy hot chocolate which was very rich and tasty. The service could have been a little better as we saw our order get finished and had to ask the server if we were supposed to pick it up ourselves after five minutes of waiting, and then he brought it to us.“

“My coworkers and I pop in here when we meet up for drinks after work. The food is solid and the drinks are always good. It's kinda hidden where it is right now, but with the buildings that are popping up around it it should get more traction. They have a patio for the summer and a clean space to eat and drink inside.“

“Been to this place several times and it has never disappointed when I'm craving Latin cuisine. The service is spectacular and give great suggestions if you want to try somewhere new. Can be a bit loud at night and unfortunately for our server and my kiddos it was a bit embarrassing to have some fifty year olds talking like sailors yelling orders at the poor server. We gave her a big tip and she said it made her night. She apologized for those guests. Was not her fault at all as she did a wonderful job. Ambiance is pretty much like every other bar and Latin restaurant. The chips and salsa are ok as the salsa is not my favorite, but that is the only thing that is mediocre. It's also complementary so can you really complain lol? My go to is the carnitas which is so full of flavor and absolutely delicious. This time I went with on a suggestion by our server the Sopes. They let me pic a couple different meats to top it too. I went with the Al pastor and birria shredded beef. Absolutely lovely and the pineapple in the Al pastor was so fresh. Amazing! My wife got the ceviche and said the flavor was good and her only complaint was that the shrimp was over cooked. So a bit of a downer their and not raw fish like most. So ok but not their best. My mother in law got camarones your way with the spicy sauce. This if you like spice it was a home run. Delicious flavor and large quantities of everything. Very good. My son got the carne asada burrito and it was huge. He loved it. His only complaint (he could live off beans) was that there was not enough beans. He said it would also be better if they were black beans instead of refried. My little 8 year old food critic lol. No joke of you are looking for good quality Latin food that is reasonably priced this is a great place to go. Never been disappointed.“

“This location has been consistent with food and service. I haven't had a dish that was just ok; everything has been good and well prepared. Even the frijoles are delicious. I usually don't bother finishing them at other restaurants, but I go for them first here and will try to steal some from another plate. ? “Pretty good food! Most items on the menu were the same standard selections you see at every Mexican restaurant. I asked for suggestions and they recommended the burrito or chicken torta. I went for the torta and wasn't disappointed. Tasty and fairly filling. Service was quick and staff was friendly. The building is an interesting layout. The bathrooms are down the hall in the basement and there is an attached grocery store with a very limited selection of items. Like just the essentials and some candy. Prices are reasonable too.“

“Visited Centro this weekend and had a delightful experience! I indulged in their special limited-time crunch wrap, complete with chips and avocado, which were absolutely delicious and filling. My husband and friend tried the tacos, tasty but quite small – not quite enough if you're very hungry. Known for its lively atmosphere and Mexican-inspired cuisine, Centro is a great spot whether you're popping in for a quick bite or settling in for a meal with friends. Highly recommend for anyone looking for flavorful, modern twists on classic dishes!“

“The food is very good. However today, 4-12-24; There is an older gentleman on a cane. They were mopping the floor all around him.Despite the good food, they made it very unsafe for this older gentleman. Why would they actually mop the floor when there's a disabled person who's obviously having trouble walking. Was this person supposed to sit there for 2 hours while the floor dried??It was really rude and inconsiderate. When he left he was very nervous it was grabbing tables to hang on to walking on a wet floor.“

“The prices here are very good and they have a good variety of options available (including ground beef tacos which most taco trucks don't have). The 3 meats I tried (steak, chorizo and ground beef) all tasted good but in my opinion, there are better options available nearby in the taste department. The super hot sauce (pictured) is amazing though. I love spicy food and this really made the tacos taste great. If the meat was better, it would have been perfect!I got 5 tacos and 2 Mexican Cokes for $21 so pretty cheap compared to other places.“

“This food truck sits in the corner of the parking lot of the former Kohl's/current temporary USPS. From what I can tell, it's open everyday from lunch to late night. Whenever I drive by it seems to be open! You can park basically right next to the food truck - super convenient. There's not places to sit but you can take it somewhere else or sit in your car! I went for the first time recently and ordered 2 mulas and a mandarian Jarritos all for $10. They take cash and card. The food came out really quickly. I've never had a mula before and I really loved it! I got lengua and asada. It was generously filled with the meat and was also cheesy with a crisp but soft tortilla. It came with 3 different salsas which were spicy but so good! Overall really solid Mexican street food. Looking forward to future trips here!“

“So I walked into the place and looked at the menu and set up and immediately my mind was like because I can't leave a restaurant that I've already walked into. BUT I am so glad that I ended up ordering. The set up is assembly like chipotle, but the food actually has flavor and taste unlike chipotle. For some reason they sell boba which was unexpected but it was pretty good. Mangonada was good too. Birria was so so but all in all it was a nice find for north suburbs. Very chill and clean place with a patio.“

“Brooklyn Center needed this spot. Great versatile menu for all tastes and moods. Got takeout street tacos- two pollo tinga and one Al pastor. The pollo tinga were a little dry but a squeeze of lime and two flavorful salsas on the side fixed that right up. The Al pastor taco was bomb, would do all 3 of that next time. Didn't get to try beans or rice as I had a short lunch break but looked good.“

“This place looks like your typical Latin American restaurant, but it's secretly better!First of all, the staff are incredible! This is likely because it's a family-owned and operated restaurant rather than a chain. For example, one time they accidentally made too many margaritas, so we got some free drinks without even asking!Secondly, the menu here is more diverse than your typical Latin American restaurant. For example, this is the first time I've had a whole grilled Tilapia (the Mojarra Frita) since I was in Guatemala, and it was fantastic! The dish may look intimidating/unsightly to the average American, but trust me, it's delicious!Third, the prices are reasonable. The only "downside" is that the restaurant ambiance/atmosphere is just average, which really isn't that big of a downside.Parking: Large, free parking lot.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair parking available.“
