“-Vinai MN- My friend and I wanted to try Chef Yia's restaurant due to being homesick and wanting hmong food. We were met with such great service and sat where we could see the work area. Chef Yia was so kind and started us off with a complimentary appetizer, rice Curry balls. We ordered and the food came so fast. As soon as I took a bite, my eyes started to get teary because it tasted like food from home. I started fanning myself to not cry which Chef Yia saw and asked if the food was too spicy. We then started to explain that we were not from MN and were feeling a bit homesick and how the food reminded us of home. Chef Yia then said, here let's do this. He returned with a pot of beef soup that consisted of mushrooms, bamboo shoots, beef and green onion and white rice and shared that this dish was one of those dishes that we would eat at gathering and events. We we so shocked and so at loss with his kindness and compassion. We both took a bite and immediately lighted up. It tasted like my mom's cooking 💓. As we were nearing the end of our meal, Chef Yia told us not to stuff ourselves too full and surprised us with a complimentary dessert which further awed us. We were so lost at words for Chef Yia's kindness, generosity and comfort. We chose the Lava Cake and it was soooo good! I normally don't like sweets but we devoured this 😋. 1000/10 would recommend.“

“I hosted a welcome drinks event for ~80 guests at Norseman the night before my wedding and was incredibly impressed by the quality of the service, drinks, and overall atmosphere. We had originally reserved the outdoor patio space, but unexpected sideways rain forced us indoors. The staff at Norseman was exceptionally gracious and accommodating and helped us transition inside, which we all greatly appreciated.

Our guests had a wonderful time, and many commented on how much they enjoyed the DJ and the overall experience. I would highly recommend Norseman for any private event, and I'm confident both my husband and I (and many of our guests!) will be back in the future.“

“I cannot express how much I love this place! The food, the drinks, the service- it’s all wonderful. I never would have gone into this place but I read it was associated with Petit Leon which I’ve loved, so I gave it a try. No, it is not a Mexican restaurant as I assumed ( Tijuana is in Mexico. Right?) The food has a more Asian origin ( Mapo rigatoni, scallion pancake..) and it’s delicious! The drinks were fresh and flavorful. It’s my new favorite place. Love the neighborhood, love the vibe.“

For the owners— I’d suggest reducing the serving size of the Picada Columbiana, but keep the same price. It is SO much food (and so yummy), but easily could serve 3-4 people. Also, would be fun to do a version with no fries, but with rice and beans! We ordered them on the side, and they were perfect with the meats.“

I got a signature cocktail that was gin based and had great flavor! Green beans (8/10), Arrabiata pasta (9/10), bread w bone marrow marmalade (7/10 - we would’ve skipped the marmalade), pork chop (8/10), mushroom chicken (10/10). We enjoyed the fresh ingredients in everything! We’d likely come back here again, as the menu rotates often.“

On line there were a couple of items that I didn't see on the actual menu while at the restaurant. We were given the lunch menu at the front door, this really confused me, later Addison eventually figured it out. The rest of the experience was nice. The comedy acts were funny, except for the second to last guy, that totally bombed, as part of his act was to call all women bitches. He was poorly prepared, and otherwise was not funny at all, and should not be invited back.“

Innovative & delicious cocktails, awesome steampunk decor, great atmosphere, and Katie & the rest of the crew who are absolutely smashing it. “I have only eaten one thing repeatedly and it is excellent, their burger. I can’t speak to anything else on the menu. Service is fine, but sometimes laid back to the point of indifference. Atmosphere might be a little too trendy and hip for some people, but the space is attractive and well situated especially when going to see a show at Latte Da.“

“Flora Room is a gorgeous cocktail bar located behind and beneath Chef Del Prado's steakhouse Porzana. Fortunately, I arrived at 5:30 PM on a Saturday, which was early enough to avoid a line and a velvet rope. I don't wait in line for anything unless I'm at a pharmacy, bakery, post office, or airport. Lines at restaurants and bars strike me as pretentious or bad management, and I don't tolerate either. However, I'm old, and at my age, nothing is worth waiting for unless it's a necessity.

I found a seat at the beautiful and expansive bar and looked around at the Del Prado design. The colors might be different, but Flora was reminiscent of Minari and Noma. All three add to the Twin Cities' cachet. However, I was taken aback by the attire I saw around me. People were dressed in shorts, T-shirts, and sneakers. It's friggen Saturday night Minneapolis. Have some class!

Flora Room was a lovely cocktail lounge, perfect for wooing, but don't expect to strike up a conversation with any of the bartenders. At these Del Prado joints, the staff must be trained not to engage. I'm out alone and enjoy talking. Bartenders used to be part of a lounge's attraction when I grew up in NYC. They learned your name, knew what you did, and gave you a hearty welcome. That, I guess, is not part of the culture in Minneapolis. Well, at least not at the Del Prado restaurants and bars. Chef Del Prado is from Argentina, and certainly, Argentina is one of the warmest and friendliest countries in the world, so I don't get it. I now live up the block from the Flora Room. I'm a neighbor and would like to be treated like one. Neighborly and the Flora Room are distant concepts.“

Rolled eyes when we didn’t order alcohol and said “I guess” when my mother (who has memory issues and was there celebrating her birthday) asked for ice water. Then yelled at her (literally) for grabbing a pitcher of water off an empty table. Never checked on us once. The guy delivering the food gave a better experience just dropping it off than we had with her the entire time. I waited table for fifteen years and never once rolled my eyes at someone. Her tone and facial expressions were beyond rude. If she can’t act like she’s nice she might need a new job. The rest of the staff was BEYOND friendly so she really gave off a rotten apple vibe.“

A group of college buddies and I decided to re-create our wonderful happy hour days there under its new name, the Cabana Club.
I got there early, around 4 o'clock, to reserve a table for 6 - 8 people. They were totally unwilling to work with me, saying that they needed at least half my group to be able to give me a table. Then, when half my group showed up, they still would not give me a table for six. Make up your mind! We ended up with six people, crammed around a table for four. Not the end of the world but ...
That being said, they had a good crowd on a Tuesday night. Just keep it in mind that they won't accommodate your group unless they all show up on time. Unrealistic.
Once we had a table, our server, Matt, was outstanding. HH beer at $5 was a good deal and the HH Smash Burgers were very good. Still an outstanding location.“

The ambiance is what sets this place apart. The open dining room concept works because of what I’m assuming used to be a bank. There’s something about the architecture that gives it a completely different vibe than most Minneapolis restaurants. It doesn’t feel downtown at all—it genuinely feels like you’re in New York. That’s rare for Minneapolis.

The starter bread is fluffy and beautiful. I’d honestly recommend pairing it with the burrata appetizer. They’re a perfect match. The bread that comes with the burrata is dry and hard to chew, so definitely go with the starter bread instead. It’s honestly like a hug with the burrata. The balsamic vinegar taste on the burrata is incredible.

I got the 14oz prime ribeye cooked medium well and it was so flavorful on its own. The juiciness is unmatched. 10/10 steak.“

“This place is a solid dive bar that takes you right back to the '70s. It's not fancy, just good drinks at great prices. The place is super relaxed, and the crowd is friendly and laid-back. It’s in the heart of downtown. This bar is an adults type place, though—wouldn't recommend bring the kids. If you're looking for a no-frills spot to grab a drink and relax, this is it. I love the no-menu deal and even though I was a bit boring and asked for an old fashioned, it was probably the best old fashioned I’d ever had with decent whiskey. The service is exceptional and has a very nice vibe to it. Drinks were about $21 after tax which could be worth it if you want the best.“
