“People here are very nice but it seems they are so used to their script and laying it on so thick that when a person walks in and just wants to see a menu they get confused.I am in town on a business trip and I have some dietary limitations so I wanted to see if they had menu items that fit my diet and my expense limitations. It seemed like I made the woman's head explode when I asked to see a menu and after the fact she kind of made me feel like she thought there was something wrong with me.The rest of the experience was nice but the older ladies there lay it on pretty thick with their interactions with you. The younger ladies seem to be a bit more real with you. I don't fault these ladies for working super hard for their tips and I applaud them for doing so because it must be super exhausting for them because the level of effort they put in to it is extreme.The prices are reasonable, the people there are nice, and the food is good so I would definitely recommend this place.“

“We were excited to try the Tavern tonight for the first time. We were a bit underwhelmed. I only got 3 scallops for a $45 entree (even Disney will give you 4 for the same price). Additionally, the fries and baked cookie had a burnt aftertaste from the oven. For $150, we thought it was significantly overpriced for what we got.“

“I gave it 4 instead of 5 because the waitress wasn’t the best. She didn’t even give us plates with our appetizers ? we got no refills, no straws and the food was cold. Idk the atmosphere was good but the service could have been a bit better. I feel like she saw she didn’t get a tip when I was paying because she said “hope you enjoyed my service” and by that point there wasn’t a need in discussing it.“

“Really yummy :)) everybody inside was friendly and welcoming in a very genuine way that makes you feel very cared for. The ribs were soo well cooked and the pulled pork was tender (reminds me of being home w my dad who always makes ribs for us). I always love mac & cheese but especially here. “Our first time here and it was great! Our server Genesis was sweet, bubbly, and attentive. The food was fantastic! Had burrata salad (off menu special), the Tiger rolls, and brisket dipper. Other than the au jus being a little too salty (which is prob normal, I don’t like things that are too salty) would eat it all again it was so good! And the servings are huge, we have enough leftovers for two more meals. The cocktails were also terrific- it’s hard to find a Vieux Carré outside the French Quarter but they make a good one! Sazarac was also delicious. Will be recommending this place to others and will definitely be back!“

“My spouse and I celebrated here. She had the Shrimps and Grits and the Berry Goat cheese salad. I had the Grilled Salmon and Lobster and sausage gumbo. The waitress and the chef were very courteous and pleasant. We had the bread pudding with better pecan ice cream, and the death by chocolate cake and ice cream. It was a blessing?“

“We stayed at the Cheshire hotel and were fortunate to have Basso on the premises! We met a friend here the first night of our stay. The restaurant is in the basement. The atmosphere was inviting with gas lit wall lights, a center bar with booths and high tops. Autumn was a wonderful server. She was so pleasant and informative. We really enjoyed having her as our server. Happy hour is from 4 to 6. We tried the fried meatballs, which were great. The lemon ravioli and the shrimp pasta dish were both delicious. Prices were reasonable. When you dine, the food taste and quality are top priority, but when the food is phenomenal and the service and atmosphere are just as good, it makes the experience memorable. We ended up returning on our second night! Julie was our server and we really enjoyed her, too. She was helpful and interested in our satisfaction! We tried the Brussel sprouts, an heirloom salad with delicious bread. Our entrees were the butcher steak and the burger. The steak was wood fired and super tender! The burger was delicious. The fries and shishito peppers were very good. We highly recommend this hidden gem and thank Autumn and Julie for making our stay in St. Louis so memorable! “We had an amazing dinner tonight at YaYa’s! The sea scallops were exquisite and are the best we’ve had in St. Louis. The salmon salad and gnocchi were delectable, as were the cocktails. The icing on the cake was being served by the one and only, Andy Samberg!! I can’t believe he works here! The service was amazing as was his comedic nature! Everything about this place was top notch.!! We absolutely will be back! BEST.NIGHT. EVER!! ☺️“

“We have been using AofE for many years now for our office lunches. Our order has been correct every single time! It is always fresh and delicious! Their desserts are YUM!Our board members always comment on how much they look forward to and enjoy the lunches provided at our meetings. They communicate well during the ordering process. “We realize it was Valentine's Day, so that may have been the culprit here. But... we were encouraged to order all our courses up front, which we won't do again. Each subsequent course arrived long before we were finished with the previous one, leading to a crowded table and a sense of being rushed, which wasn't what we were seeking for a VD meal.... Food delicious, wait staff lovely, all else good. But timing of the courses was oblivious to the pace of consumption.“

“The food was below par but everything else was great. I got a table right away and was served by Kaitlyn. If you are able to request being in her section, do it! I was never worried about waiting to oder and when I did, my drink came very soon after. I got the garlic French dip and I think it's over priced for how little good lean meat you get. A few bites had too chewy of fat. Half of the homemade chips were crispy so that was nice, but I would've loved every chip to be able to break in half and not bend.Still, you should go and give this place a shot!“

“This is my absolute favorite breakfast spot, I've tried almost everything on the menu and it's always insanely delicious. Their salsa fresca is especially good, as well as their sausage gravy. They are super busy on weekends, so get there by 8am if you want to be seated immediately.Kid-friendliness: We went around 8:15am and brought our toddler, there were at least 5 other families with very young kids.“

We enjoyed a novel quiche , and a large portion of avocado toast.The desserts are on display as you are waiting to order, and we were tempted by a chocolate caramel pastry with a nut crust.Parking is easy, and prices are reasonable.“

“Ice & Fuel is my go-to spot for what I feel is the best burger in STL. The cooked-to-order freshness is outstanding. With fresh, crisp vegetables and sides, it's hard to beat. If your cardiologist is more forgiving than mine, get a side of onion rings! Drinks are cheaper than most places and the pours are perfect. The staff is always courteous and attentive. Frequent visits and you'll be remembered - that's a great part of going here. My one complaint: It is loud. Very loud. Between 5 and 7 you're probably not going to have a few cocktails and catch up with friends. If yelling people is your thing, you'll love it! Overall Ice & Fuel is a great, underrated beer and burger joint. Check it out!“

“Old school bar/restaurant! Smell of cigs and cold beer can get any better reminds me of childhood because I was born in 70's Wed and Saturday the best fried chicken you ever ate! You get mashed potatoes and green beans. The fried mushrooms are bomb with the horseradish dip. Cheeseburger is strong! The Willy onion rings are fabulous. It ain't fancy but the food/cold drinks are the main attraction. Sits by a train track hear the whistle! Service is fast and friendly! Family owned.“

“I really enjoyed this place. Turned out to be a great weather day and I think many folks decided to go out for lunch. They were unexpectedly swamped, but handled it. The wait for food was 20 minutes, however still very well executed. We had the wings, which were smoked and then transferred into hot wings, yum. Smokey, juicy, and tender with a nice heat in the sauce. My wife had the SLU High Brisket sandwich and I had the Foxhole cheesesteak. Both sandwiches had smokey, tender, and juicy meats with crispy onion straws and fried jalapeños. She ordered sweet potato fries which I tasted and wished I ordered over the regular crinkle cut fries from the freezer that I thought were meh at best. With really good sandwiches, I would offer equal quality sides, this would be my only fault for not awarding 5 stars. Still, even though they were inundated with guests, service was great and I would highly recommend you visiting there.“
