“First time and not the last time we dine here, God willing! 🙏🏼♥️🏁 Very busy place, but fantastic service, food, and experience! Josh answered the phone and was so helpful, friendly and welcoming! When we walked in Josh was on it, made us feel we were “regulars”, like he new us personally and Stacey, the hostess that seated us, was equally as welcoming and we were seated promptly. I don’t believe we got our kind servers name, but the beautiful young lady was on it as well. The chefs/kitchen were on par as well, hubby had one of the eggs Benedict with a side of biscuit and gravy, I had the Ranchers beef salad, one of the best beef and blue cheese salads I’ve EVER had, and believe me, I’ve had a “few” 😋🤫😊 Hubs also loved the huge coffee mugs his coffee and my Kahluah/hot chocolate(yum on this damp chilly day)were served in…this where my only complaint would be, my mug was chipped along the rim 😅 All that said, it was just a fantastic way to start our Sunday. “Our experience at Robin exceeded all expectations, from beginning to end. I was cautiously optimistic, particularly after reading an interview with the chef where he spoke about the intensity of the experience after the NYT recognition. It is clear that whatever rhythm may have been interrupted, it was definitely found in spades at our visit last night.

The service was excellent and our server provided some excellent advice on the menu that ended up being spot on. I was struggling to decide between two dishes and he took into account the heaviness/lightness of my other dishes, taste preference and the two preparations. It was much appreciated and well received.

The dirty martini was the best I’ve ever had. I had two and the second was just as good as the first.

We had both snacks and I am still dreaming about the Liver Corn Cookie. The play on sweet, salty, and textures was literal perfection. Everything was amazing, but that cookie was maybe my favorite bite at a restaurant. Ever.

We ordered the carrots, soup, dumplings, trout, mushrooms and pork steak. For dessert, I had the cheese plate and my husband ordered the ginger cake. There wasn’t a single miss. The skin on the trout was incredibly crispy and just divine. The carrots were lovely, the pork steak incredibly tender and the mushrooms were beautifully seasoned.

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough and can absolutely see myself at the bar on a random Wednesday, drinking martinis and begging for more of those cookies.“

“Been enjoying The Royale most weeks since 2015. Best bar and restaurant in town. A gem. Chill tavern vibes, DJs, local art, gorgeous courtyard, old movies, vinyl records, and a stellar menu. Owner Steve is the best. Get the fish tacos, a fresh margarita, a local beer, or whatever you’re into. Hell, I’m about to head there right now writing this review. I’m not even joking.“

“If you haven’t been to Cellar House yet, you’re missing out. It’s one of those rare spots that feels like a hidden gem — honestly surprised it wasn’t busier on a Friday night.
The bourbon selection is excellent, and they went above and beyond by making a custom Chinese Manhattan for us that wasn’t even on the menu. That kind of flexibility and attention to detail really stands out.
The food is clean, straightforward, and very well executed. The ahi sliders were perfectly seared — wouldn’t change a thing. The fries were crispy, clearly cooked in clean oil, and seasoned just right, paired with a bright, well-balanced aioli. The rigatoni had vibrant, developed flavors — highly recommend keeping it as is without adding meat. It holds its own.
Service was exceptional. We stayed about 30 minutes past closing catching up with a friend and never felt rushed. In fact, they offered another round. That level of hospitality is rare.
The patio ambiance deserves its own mention — relaxing, tucked away, and surprisingly peaceful despite being near a busy road. It’s the perfect spot to sip a bourbon or enjoy a glass of wine and unwind.
They rotate their menu seasonally, and you can tell they genuinely care about what they’re doing.
No notes, no requests — just a great experience all around. From a customer, a chef, and someone who needed a solid night to relax… thank you.“

We each ordered our food, which I had previewed the menu ahead and decided on salmon and Mac n cheese. The salmon was cooked perfectly. It was tender and moist, which is important for salmon! I should mention that I had a double chocolate almond brownie, that was tempting me at the ordering counter. 😜 The young lady at the order counter was very kind and helpful, especially since it was my first time. “The meals and service at Frankie Gs are always top notch and today was no exception. Me friend ordered the reuben sandwich and commented how good the marbled rye bread was as well as the flavor of the corned beef. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and asked the kitchen to add jalapenos. The wrap came out as ordered and was delicious. One negative: It was a cold day and supplies were being delivered through the back door. Everytime the back door opened freezing air blasted into the dining area. It might be helpful to put an intermediate door on the back hallway that could be closed during deliveries.“

Stay clear of Bill... Why you ask? He was a smug, rude & a disingenuous individual. Brought in six (6) people & spent over $300.00 with no other customers dining that day. He acted like he did us a favor. All of the other employees were wonderful.“

The wait for dessert was rather long (longer than it took to get our meal) but the fried banana bread was amazing and the value made it even better based on the huge portion. “Wife and I decided to hit the easy button after walking nine holes and grab lunch at Ruthie’s. Had been years since I’d eaten there, and certainly delivered! Sat on the patio overlooking the 9th hole, and bartender came to take our drink and food orders. Had the 2nd Shift Brooligan, which was a great IPA. We split a toasted ravioli app and the Crush Burger. Ravs we’re good, burger was absolute fire. Fries were hot and crispy, the way they should be!

Vegetarian options: They have a Black bean burger for the veggie in your life.“

“All the waitstaff, even the hosts and dishwashers, do a great job under pressure, in odd weather conditions where they led us to evacuate, suggesting menu orders, and keeping the place clean, harmonious, and hospitable. The chefs could do a lot better in pricing the menu, adding seasoning and larger portions, as well as not removing the popular dishes from the menu. The interior design is also eerie because the huge butterfly graphics do not suit the vibe but again the service here is unmatched.“

Spouse had the mediterranean salad with balsamic and I had the Charlotte (walnuts, blue cheese with fresh fruit and a delicious raspberry vinaigrette). Absolutely delicious. Reuben sandwich that we split was tasty and substantial. Derek did a great job at lunch. We would return based on his service and our food.“

The standout at my visit was the French dip—served on a crisp, well-toasted baguette with generously seasoned, tender roast beef. The au jus had real depth (beefy, not overly salty) and elevated every bite. Portion size was satisfying without being heavy, and the plating was tidy.

Service was attentive and professional—waters stayed full, pacing was relaxed, and the staff knew the menu. The patio is comfortable for a leisurely lunch, and the marble-topped tables add a touch of polish. If there’s a quibble, it’s that the sandwich could use a small side (greens or fries) to round out the plate, but the quality of the main more than compensates.

Overall, a reliable, classy spot for a casual meal or a glass of wine with elevated café fare. I’d happily return—especially for that French dip.“
