After taking our Grandchildren for pics with Santa, we stopped at Charlie Gitto's and were WOWED by Melissa and her teammates. Our four grandkids; ages 13 to 1, were all treated with respect, acknowledged and included, and able to see for themselves what kind of great service they should both provide in their future careers and expect from the providers they choose. The food was great, (veal, steak, seafood pasta, calamari, mocktails and cocktails, apps to dessert all was wow.) The table was perfect for our needs. The kids weren't trapped in a booth so if they needed they could have gone to restroom... but they were never bored or impatient. Everything was timed perfectly. Our Middle fella could watch the kitchen while he anticipated his dessert. Melissa coordinated the food runners, bussers etc all while making sure we had all we needed for a wow evening. Seriously.. management... listen.. I don't know her but If I thought I could hire Melissa away... I'd try. Do what you need to keep her and people will keep coming back. My wife and our grandchildren were all very happy to have a dinner we won't forget. Bottom line... the kids talked more about dinner than they did about Santa. “Bartolinos South is our favorite nice restaurant. Not only is the food consistently wonderful but they always work to please you. We celebrate all special occasions there. Recently we reserved their front room which holds a max of 16, I believe. They went out of their way to make the setting perfect (even bringing in a small table for our use). Our waiter, Karen, was discreet in providing us perfect service without interrupting our shared conversation/memories as we were toasting a dear friend on her birthday. I can’t say enough about how flawless they made our luncheon. Bartolinos will remain our favorite not only for the quality of the food but for their personal attention.“

“Paul Manno’s is the one thing I miss more than the Cardinals baseball games since retiring in 2004. I took my brother there a few years before that, and he said it was the best Italian he had anywhere in the country, and he traveled a lot. I always recommended Paul’s whenever new people came in our flower shop, and EVERYONE agreed with my brother and me. I hounded Gourmet Magazine until they reviewed them. Good enough for MNF Aikman, Buck & Collingsworth! My number one choice in the country.“

“We have always enjoyed our dining experience at Roberto’s. The food is great, service is great and the atmosphere is great. HOWEVER, they need to improve in two areas. Every time I have asked for a little horseradish. They don’t have any. So next time, I’ll bring my own. The other is the amount of sour crème provided with your huge potato is inadequate. I asked for a little more and they charged me an additional fifty cents! I can’t believe that I’m paying $240 for a meal and they want to ding me fifty cents for a dollop of sour crème. How petty.“

The Rolls served hot in a basket with butter is easy to overindulge in. The calamari was cooked perfectly. If you like risotto, try the risotto with lobster. Veal Parmesan is excellent. “We reserved the big room for a family party of 24. Our servers, Rachel and Harrison did a fabulous job! They were patient (we're a loud bunch!), checked on us without being a nuisance, and accommodated some late-comers with adding onto the end of one of the big tables. The food was fresh, delicious and brought out hot (not lukewarm)! Some of our party even ordered dessert! Xavier did a great job of bussing the table and grabbing extra drinks, etc. Considering how many people we had, I felt like it was a good deal price-wise as well.

“We recently moved “locally” and Our trying out new restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised with “A’mis” Took Our four kids there for lunch today. The ENTIRE dining area was full, yet the short staffed staff did not miss a beat. Drinks filled, food brought out, they did forget silverware but They were SO busy and also so on top of it! Truly impressed as a former server and hostess back in the day. My kids finished the cheese sticks in less than 5 minutes. The fettuccini was amazing, and so was the New York style pizza. The house dressing is good as well. On top of that the wait staff was so friendly and kind to Us. You sometimes sadly get dirty looks bringing 4 kids under 13 into a restaurants alone, even if they are well behaved! We will be back!!! Thank-You!“

“I was recently in the Clayton, MO area for a work trip and decided to try this place out for lunch with a colleague since it was walking distance from my company’s corporate office… I was definitely not disappointed. The food was excellent!

The two very good things that this place gets it right with their calzones are that their crusts are just perfect (not to thick, not thin, not too bread like) and just has the right amount of cheese. A lot of places tend to over do it with the amount of cheese they stick in the calzone to the point that all you really taste is just the cheese and no longer the crust or the other fillings.

The entire staff was friendly and the service was quick. They also have a wide selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The place was also very clean which is always a very big plus. They also had a good selection of salads which I will definitely try when I’m back in the area.“
