“I was very apprehensive about trying this place but once I got inside all my worries subsided and I was blown away by the number of drinks they offered and the amount of food they served, the portions are enough for two people to share! The wings are the best I've ever had, the beer is cold and the live music is great. What really makes me happy is the age of the patrons who frequent this establishment, 40-50 years old, not the younger crowd, my wife and I are regulars at the North Oak location“

“Had to leave a review because the bartender working during the Mexico game was LIT. 🔥 My homies and I were impressed. We never seen a bartender grab two bottles at once and pour shots that fast while still keeping everything cool. She was making so many drinks in no time it was fun to watch.

She was also hella cute 😂 and somehow managed to take a ton of orders at once without losing track of anyone. Even though the bar was packed she kept checking in letting people know she’d be right back and apologizing for the wait. You could tell she cared about everyone getting taken care of.

The whole crowd was waiting for HER to take their orders and once we saw her working, we understood why. She killed it.

We’ll definitely be back to see her again. I tried asking for her Instagram, but she was way too busy. 😂 If anyone knows it, help us out lol! I told her I would leave a review just for her 😂“

“I was lucky enough to host my company Christmas party in the popup holiday bar this year. I CANNOT say enough great things about the venue, food, drinks and staff! Everything was incredible and such a great value! The staff was on point. From the beginning Alexa, the event coordinator, and Adam, the general manager, made the whole process so seamless and amazing. We barely lifted a finger and all of our guests were blown away by how beautiful and fun everything was! We will 100% be having our Christmas party here every year from now on. “🚨GUACAMOLE CHANGE! We’ve been coming to Ponaks for 30 years. The guacamole has aways been one of our favorites. Today we ordered it and immediately noticed something was different. We asked the server and he confirmed that they have changed their recipe, and it’s for the worst. They’ve added “filler” by putting pico and other ingredients into it. It’s not even close to what it was. I hope they don’t start changing their food and Margaritas!!! There is a reason people keep coming back year after year! Please dont mess with perfection Ponaks!“

“Absolutely loved the food and atmosphere here! Went twice during our stay in downtown KC. Food and service were great both times! I cannot rave enough about the N/A options and mocktails. They also have gluten free Mac n cheese pasta which made my day!! Highly recommend the Elote Ribs, Nachos and Current burger!“

“The food was great but I wouldn’t come here on an evening of you want good service. My husband and I did a tasting tour near by and wanted something to eat before we headed back to the Air BnB. Immediately you could tell how the experience was going to be when we didn’t order drinks right away and didn’t see our server again for about 15 minutes. She was very obviously more interested in paying more attention to customers that ordered drinks right away. She didn’t give her name otherwise I would I mention here. We only got one water and she didn’t come back to us again. We went to go to the hostess to try to pay our bill, ended up stopping her as she was leaving the bar. I give 2 stars out of 5. That’s only because the food was really good. I don’t think I would come back here. Maybe during the day would be better but I don’t know if I’d come here again anyway.“

“This is a small, local bar that is playing sports on a few TV's which I guess makes it a sports bar. But give it a chance. The owner was extremely nice and yet was bantering with the locals like a salty sailor. The wings were surprisingly good, their house sauce was spicy and tangy. And the locals were also friendly. This is not a chain place, but if you want a beer and good wings this is the place to go.“

“We stayed at the hotel attached to Old Chicago. We were able to finish the night at the bar. They were closing out and the ladies there still allowed us to come in and have a drink. They made sure we had cold beer and didn’t try to rush us. It was a wonderful end to our night. Thank you!“

“This place had great staff, service, food and fresh tasting margaritas and salsa. The tamales are the highlight—the masa is light and fluffy, not heavy or dry like most places, and they’re stuffed with meat that actually has flavor. The salsas are the real kicker; mild was great and the hot has a kick but so fresh you’ll keep dipping even when your mouth is watering. To top it off, the margaritas actually taste like tequila and fresh lime, not that sugary bottled mix. They’re strong, simple, and hit the spot perfectly.“

I am at KUMed, so taste buds are way off but everything seemed so salty. they also had no recall of my soda which I ordered online because it red soda. when my son came back with diet whatever I almost flipped him over. “We came in at about 5pm on a Thursday evening and everything was incredible! Our service was friendly, attentive and speedy. We tried some of the happy hour appetizer specials and their Thursday burger specials, and some of the taco plates. All the food was absolutely delicious; hot and fresh and cooked to order!

“I had I think the most delicious chicken and pear salad I’ve ever had in my life here. There was a couple of conferences going on inside the hotel so the restaurant and bar area was crowded and there was only one staff person waiting on everyone. I don’t know what the situation was in the kitchen however, even though I had to wait for a service, I knew they were doing their best and when my salad came, it was so delicious. I also ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and it was a very generous pour maybe making up for the lack of help that day. It did help me enjoy my lunch very much. I would go there just to go there even if I wasn’t attending anything at the hotel.“
