Okay so place looks like an absolute dump on the outside but step inside and be amazed. Gorgeous bar along with everything else. Service is top notch. Drinks are amazing but expensive. Food is amazing and unique, not even too over priced. Haven't stayed for the burlesque show but definitely plan on it at some point. Other than the wait you won't be disappointing at this place.
This dinner was amazing! It's been a month and we are still talking about the food and atmosphere. If your here to have deep long conversation it's not the best bet as the live music is loud. The cocktails were perfect. The vibe of this place is hip and very dark. Our table was lit by one candle. Can't wait to come back!
This place is Legit! Truly feels like a speakeasy. Jazz music, good food, even better drinks, an authentic, historical venue that has maintained its ambiance. Oh, and at 11PM, they have a tasteful burlesque show that is a lot of fun, and will transport you to another time.
OMG!!!! I am writing this review as I sit in Skulls rainbow room, stuffed to the gills! Food and atmosphere is nothing short of amazing. My wife and I are here on our 20 year anniversary and we could not have chosen a better place to celebrate. Very friendly staff and impeccable service. Thank you and we'll definitely visit again!!!
Hit the mark on every aspect of "fine dining". Incredible atmosphere, incredible service, the food was amazing. For the restaurant experience alone, it was worth visiting. I also attended the burlesque show, the I'll me that was western themed. No nudity beyond what a typical burlesque show has. Very classy, very entertaining and fun, and worth the stay. The entire experience was great down to the dancing, singing, and engaging the crowd.

The service was outstanding and the food was simply amazing. I will not cover appetizers. For the main course we had the barrel-cut steak and the dover sole with mashed potatoes and seared mushrooms. All of those were exquisite on every level, accompanied by, I repeat, unprecedented service and a great selection of wines. The interior is screaming but elegant. It can be described as "art-deco-chic". The hall is very large. There's a terrace with a fireplace outside as well. On a side note, the music selection didn't fit that well, at least at the time we were there. The live band was great, but perhaps a soothing jazz or some mellow vocals would feel more in tone.
During our 34th wedding anniversary celebration trip to Nashville, we made the wise decision to splurge and eat at Jeff Ruby's. Boy are we glad we did. We didn't have a reservation, but it worked out great because the patio seating is first come, first serve and it was a beautiful night to sit outside. Our waiter (Kevin) and the entire wait staff were polite and attentive. I even got escorted to the restroom when I asked for directions. THAT was a first!. The cocktails were lovely, the food was incredible (side dishes are enough for two or more). The wine recommendation was spot on! Kevin gave us some insights about local music spots (Skull Rainbow Room) which was also wonderful. i highly recommend Jeff Ruby's Restaurant and offer a very sincere THANK YOU for a wonderful evening.
The service is impeccable. My wife and I enjoyed the professional chats and recommendations. As for the food, Our hats off to the chef. We've tried many steakhouses around the world and this is by far the best. We will most definitely be back. Much love from Ontario, Canada.
It wasn't the greatest experience. Our server ignored us most of the evening. I ordered a mixed drink, may as well have been a straight shot of mixed liquor. So they replaced it and the next one reminded me of cough syrup. They did however give us a free dessert that was fantastic on the house for our anniversary. The sushi was spot on the steak was amazing!! The atmosphere was really relaxing. Apart from those minor issues it's very nice indeed.
Good food great ambiance. Place is good for a date or office party. It's a classy place

Loved Henrietta Red! Very pretty, bright white decor. A group of 5 friends and I came from New York and it was our first time in Nashville. We made reservations and we were happy to try this place. I don't eat Oysters but my friends had a happy hour tray of them and seemed to enjoy them. Our waiter was very helpful and friendly and the person delivering our food cheered with us when we did since we were excited about the food. The wood fired bread is amazing, and we split the Peach Salad and the Ricotta and Tomato salad. I got the Trout and it was delicious and we also got the Malted Chocolate to split with two friends. if you are into Chocolate, this is a good choice! Highly recommend this place.
My husband and I went last Sunday and the experience was horrible. We did love where we were seated, which was outside. Plus the weather was nice that night. Our waiter seemed as if he didn't want to serve us but was very eager to serve everyone else. He would check on the other tables, even the one right next to ours but would act as if we weren't there. He he served us a dozen half shelled oysters with no sauces. He messed up my order and gave me some type of red snapper appetizer when I asked for the dinner. I asked about the cauliflower steak and decided that I didn't want it but he ordered it anyway. He never apologized and I still had to pay for the stuff that I didn't order. It also took over an hour to get our food. We'll never go back again.
Everything about Henrietta Red is perfection. The decor, wine list, menu, service --are all top notch. With so many new restaurants cropping up at a steady clip, it's rare to go back again and again to the same spot, but this one will stay in heavy rotation. Each dish was better than the next and our server was knowledgeable, helpful and spot on with clearing plates, filling wine glasses and making recs. SO thankful to have this beautiful place in Nashville.
Henrietta Red will deliver a delight! A chic and welcoming ambiance at the bar set the stage for the delightful surprise that Chef Julia Sullivan soon delivered thereafter. Our night started with the Wabash Cannonball and the Little Deuce Coupe off the Cocktail - both were delicious. Our cocktails were followed by the delivery of the Wood Fired Bread, Chilled Corn Soup and Peach Salad. All three of which were delightful. Soon after our starters a beverage that goes by Wabash Cannonball was delivered followed by the Ricotta & Tomatoes and what was easily the star of the show - The Cauliflower Steak. The Cauliflower Steak is ridiculously delicious, it continued to amaze us even after the plate was wiped cleaned. My understanding is that we had accidentally stumbled onto the most popular dish at H.R. and it would come to us as no surprise - the Cauliflower Steak alone will be brining us back. I would be lying if I said we stopped there because there was a dessert. Did we need a dessert? No. Did we order one? Yes, and it too was devoured. We ordered something that I couldn't find on the menu when referencing it today, but it consisted of olive oil ice cream, fresh watermelon, fresh basil, angel food cake and some other ingredients wickedly combined with witchcraft to give your taste buds an amazing workout. Enough said. Henrietta Red has easily snagged a spot on one of my top ten favorite Nashville restaurants...proceed and eat well my friends!
We went here for our five-year wedding anniversary and we couldn't have been more pleased. Service was excellent and the food was outstanding. Definitely a top-three dining experience in our five years in Nashville. They knew it was our anniversary and went out of their way to make it even more special for us. The space is beautiful and full of natural light. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.

I enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was top notch. I especially enjoyed my server Christy, she was impeccable! My wife and I went there to celebrate our anniversary and they made it feel special. My only complaint is that the food is skimpy! I ordered the lamb and it was expensive about $40.00, but it was the size of two chicken nuggets! It was good but such a skimpy portion. Otherwise, it was a pleasant experience.
The food was fantastic, popping with flavors from appetizers to desserts. Everyone at our table raved about every dish, and every dish was passed around. My favorites were the scallops and olive oil almond cake. The staff (especially our server Mary) was as great as the food. Everyone greeted us coming and going. I couldn't recommend this place more.
Walked in on a late Saturday with a friend - and we were promptly seated at the bar. Good beginning and great service from start to finish. Food was absolutely delicious. Definitely our favorite restaurant during our time in Nashville. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!
We went in after hours and they were still open. Food was delicious. I ordered the vodka pasta it was delicious and cooked perfectly. Staff was extremely friendly. Will definitely visit again.
This review is a year overdue. Has anyone else ever gone to a restaurant so that they could have some more cauliflower (with truffle oil)? During a few days spent in Nashville last July, seeking good dining between business engagements, I and two serious "foodies" made a second trip to Etch just for that reason. We laughed at ourselves for that motive, but we went! And, reading other reviews, I recall and affirm that staff was extremely knowledgeable of ingredients and preparation, and patiently, amiably answered many questions.

Fantastic experience! We started with the smoked salmon app and it was great. For dinner my wive ordered the hot chicken and it did not disappoint. I ordered 8oz of the wagyu steak. Wow! I smiled with every bite! So good. Best steak I have ever had. Amazing! Laura was our server and she was a delight. We'll be back!
Sorry upfront about the long review. However, want to explain why 5 stars. First time at this place, but have eaten at many, many contemporaries (Ruth's Chris, Flemings, Capital Grill, etc). Great experience! Setting is somewhat intimate, but can get loud, depending on adjacent tables. Ample seating available. Reservations required for our visit. Dress of patrons pretty much all over the map...dress coats, slacks, shorts, open-toed sandles, you name it. About the only thing I didn't see was a T-shirt, which is good because this place has too much class for that. Waiter (Sheldon) was on his game...gave us time to look over the extensive.menu and wine menu, but didn't neglect us. That is a fine line in the service industry, and Sheldon nailed it. We ordered all the wine at the.beginning (appetizer wine and meal wine), and he brought out the appropriate wine at the right time. Again, all over it. Food was top-notch, which you would expect when paying $50 bucks for a steak. However, my experience has proven time and again that is not always the case. Special mention for the lobster tail...Probably one of the best I've ever eaten, and I lived in Massachusetts for 6 years and have eaten my share. Lobster was slightly sweet, cooked perfectly, just melted in your mouth, which is very hard to get right. Well, we'll done! Overall, just a wonderful dinner experience. Cheers!!
Exceptional food in hearty portions but wasn't hot when brought to the table. If you pay that much for a steak, it should be hot. The lobster mac n cheese was very tasty. Very nice atmosphere.
We love eating dinner at the bar at Bob's when we're in town for work. You have to try the Nashville Chicken - it's worth the wait. They make a great Old Fashioned.
Good decision to go here last night. The prime bone in ribeye blackened, medium, goes down as my #1 or two best steak ever. Service was impeccable.
