“This is quite possibly some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. Everything tastes incredibly fresh and authentic, and you can tell there’s real care put into the food. The flavors are outstanding, and every dish we tried was impressive. I’ve had Chinese food at plenty of places, and this one genuinely stands out. In my opinion, it’s easily the best Chinese food in the Triangle area. Absolutely worth checking out — highly recommend!“

The fried rice is actually fresh. Flavor is lighter, but there's so much good sauce, u can easily mix it with the rice.

“Very busy even on weekdays, that’s a good sign that the food is legit. We ordered crispy pork belly, pot frog, stir-fried string bean, tea egg and hot and sour soup. Everything was fine except for hot and sour soup, the taste was weird and salty. A bit disappointed since it’s my favorite soup. I will try the noodles next time.“

“I ordered the Pu Pu Platter and Hunan Beef online. It took a little more time than what was expected and the server was really nice and explained the longer wait so it wasn't that big of on issue.

I got my order and everything was correct for my order. The price was on average with other chinese restaurants.

The Pu Pu Platter was decent for all the fried appetizers and I was really looking to see how they have their shrimp toast. The wings and BBQ ribs were the best part. The shrimp toast could of been better and I'll try some again in the future to see if it was just a one off.

The Hunan Beef was very flavorful. The beef had a smokey taste that wasn't overpowering and the vegetables weren't too sweet and firm as I expected. I think the dish was really balanced and I think I'll ask for it to be spicier next time.

I would definitely order from here again and try something different next time.“

“A little bir more of a limited selection than your average buffet, BUT SO REASONABLE 👏 for the price. The food actually tasted like food, unlike some other buffets where everything tastes like salt or all the same.

The service was quick and very kinda and compassionate and the waiter/ess would often check in to refill your drink or make sure all the food was good.

Out of what they offer, they def covered fairly seafood, chicken, veggies, rice and noodles, soups, suces, American and Chinese cuisine, and desert/fruit. No ice cream.

No hibachi or sushi when I visited, and no salad options, but what they offered tasted great and sometimes less choices is better ya know?

“This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. It is also convenient to my home. I have ordered several dishes and have not been disappointed. They will also accommodate a special request with the item(s) you select. Their chicken wings are well seasoned and are not fried hard. Some restaurants can overcook their wings to such a hard consistency, which is NOT enjoyable.“

“Fist time diners on our way to see relatives and we needed a quick bite. Very clean with nice piano background music. The staff is very friendly and the food was served quick and hot. The spring rolls, egg drop and hot n sour soups are good. The shrimp fried rice and chicken n broccoli are great. Too much food to eat at once. Very reasonably priced as well for all that food.“

“I haven't been here before and wanted to see how their Hunan Beef was compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area.

I ordered the Hunan Beef and a large order of the BBQ Spare Ribs. The meat and vegetables were perfectly cooked and not too stiff or too mushy. The sauce was very watery and not what I had expected. It was good overall, and I wish the flavor was was concentrated.

The BBQ Spare Ribs were my favorite from this order. They were tender and there was plenty of meat on the ribs. The sauce was not too greasy or salty and made it easier to eat. I ate it along side the steam rice and it was just was filling without losing any flavor.

The pricing was good compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area and they only accepted cash. I would definitely order something different next time and ask from som recommendations.“

“I have been eating at this place for 15 years, maybe longer. I remember when the young woman that takes your order was like 5 years old and would bring you napkins and utensils while you waited for your food.
The food is always hot, flavorful and fresh. As a vegetarian it is nice to find a place with lots of meat free options that are not just veggie fried rice.
If you are looking for an elegant setting and lots of ambiance, you might want to look elsewhere. This is a strip mall place. Since Covid, i have always gotten take away from here. So funny that after all these years, they ask every time to make sure you know that you are ordering from the China Star in Roxboro rd, not Hillsborough Rd.
Family owned and operated, easy convenient and safe location, great food with excellent vegetarian options and very reasonable prices. Pretty dang rare these days.“

“It's not a place to sit down and eat it's a place for takeout. The staff are friendly and very accommodating they will modify your order to your liking. I wouldn't expect vegans or gluten-free individuals to find many options here but definitely vegetarians.“
