“Made a reservation here a week ahead for a special occasion and was super excited to try it out. Our reservation was for 8pm and we arrived fifteen minutes early and didn’t get sat until around 8:30-8:45 but Being that I also work in the food industry and it’s Covid times, I didn’t see it as a big deal. I do wish I had snacked before hand though! They did send edamame to our table for the inconvenience once we were finally sat though which was a super nice and unnecessary gesture. Also, the ambience is lovely and super romantic. The best sushi I have ever had. So light and flavorful. We even got some dessert and I have to say the mochi doughnuts were to die for - I wish the chocolate sauce for dipping had been dark chocolate but that’s my personal preference. The only negative thing I have to say is it is a little pricey so it won’t be a regular spot for me personally but definitely a place to check out for special events or date nights.“

“Elmo's was the best place we've been to in Durham. If it was in my hometown I'd go there as well. Plenty of room. Not noisy, clean. The food was very good. I have the pasta salad on lettuce with grilled chicken. Excellent. My wife had a scrambled eggs on a burrito which she thoroughly enjoyed. Decaf coffee was a new pot just brewed for us, and bottomless. A welcome change from the $4.50 americanos with no refills and everybody else was selling us. And just as good. The portions were wre generous, also a welcome change from most Durham places.“

“I finally came to Boricua Soul after seeing them on one of the food shows. I brought my mother along and we really enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere along with the food. Mom got the shrimp sandwich with collard greens and mac & cheese while I got the Boricua Bowl with fried chicken. The greens were great and while I’m not really a mac & cheese person, this mac & cheese was hitting on all cylinders. Great down to earth business where the owners are in tune with all who walk through the doors to share their space. The fact they’re located at American Tobacco in downtown Durham right by the Durham Bulls baseball stadium makes it a must stop. Defintely coming back the next time I’m in Durham when I see Mom again.“

“Just visited RISE biscuits in Durham for a lunch sandwich and WOW - the Righteous Chicken is truly righteous. So juicy and cooked perfectly - soft, fluffy potato bun with some pickles and boom-boom sauce. This is my new go-to place when I want a chicken fix! Staff was super helpful and friendly. I ordered online and it was ready in minutes. A++++“

“I eat here every single time I’m in the area! The patacone sandwiches are phenomenal! And if you’ve never had Ecuadorian Horchata … you must try it! Forget everything you know about other horchatas - this one is a floral, citrusy tisane dream (best served hot imo). Service is always fast and friendly. Lots of seating. “For our appetizer, we had the Grilled octopus and Tzatziki. The octopus was chewy (not undercooked or overcooked) I would definitely recommend it. Tzatziki was refreshing and great as well.

The Linguine and Clams, this entree had the al dente linguine pasta with the white wine sauce and clams. Three of my party had this dish and let's just say it was all empty after dinner was done.

For dessert I had the single Banana rum napoleon. Surpringly it wasn't too sweet which is what I liked about it and the bananas were fresh as well.

The restaurant gives welcoming and classy vibes. The bathroom seemed recently updated and very clean as well. This was my second time here and let's say I will be returning to the restaurant if I am ever back in town.“
