“I had just finished a hike at Panthertown and as I was coming through Cashiers I saw a long line. Then I saw the sign for “on the side bbq”, I figured I’d try it out. I tried to call in an order but you have be ordering a minimum of 5 sandwiches or 5 pounds of meat. I didn’t understand at first but once I got in line it all made since .
Do not let the line dissuade you from ordering as it moves quickly . Grab a menu and know what you want before you get to the window . This is a walk up and order spot , then take your food wherever you like to enjoy it .
I got the beef brisket sandwich with sweet bbq sauce ,Cole slaw , bag of chips and a water . You order quickly , stand to the side and before you know it , you have your order . I went to the little area not too far away and sat outside and ate . The sandwich is very good size , the Cole slaw is sweet and the chips are Lays, lol
As you approach the window, there is a reach in cooler with pints of slaw , potato salad and other sides and some desserts . You can grab them and pay at the window
I will definitely be back for more and to hike more if the amazing trails in the area“

“Absolutely the best restaurant in Cashiers. Best service and amazing farm to table cuisine. Great wine selection and cocktails. My favorite cocktail there is the dirty martini with blue cheese olives. Husband likes the chicken livers appetizer, which is a pretty large portion. I love the soups. Fresh bread and salads with entrees. The seafood pasta is delicious with a lemon blanc sauce. We have never had a bad meal at The Orchard. Make sure to request Joe for service and always make a reservation. As the restaurant is well known for its great food and service so it gets booked pretty quickly. Joe is a true gem. Love love this place.“

“I failed to take photos, but my party of 5 loved everything we had! I personally had one of their quiches. (Spinach, onions, tomatoes, bacon, feta, and cheddar cheeses.) The crust was so buttery and flaky…perfection! The waffles were also a favorite at our table.“

I called the restaurant and one of the servers was nice enough to mail my card to my house. Not too many places would do that. I'm very grateful to the employee. I won't hesitate to stop again.“

“Everything was great here. Starting with the service. No waiting for waitstaff; muliple vists by all the servers. Even the proprietor touched base several times. The drinks were well made with top shelf ingredients. The food was intriguing, chef used imaginative combinations. I had the 4th Street Burger and Street Corn (outstanding) and my wife had the 205 Wedge Salad (what a great surprise). The ambiance was just what my wife and i were looking for; and the setlist was killer too. We will be back. Awsome night. Thanks“

“Great find off the main drag (downtown) in Highland's. The owners are lovely (married couple in their 80's) and had a sandwich shop back in the day in Highlands. We got the burger and gyro sandwich. Burger was juicy and the gyro meat was tender and plentiful. Worth a stop for sure.“

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Lunch Experience at Prime in Highlands! Our lunch at Primary in Highlands, NC, was simply outstanding. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the host and restaurant manager, which set the tone for a wonderful meal. We started with perfectly cooked Oysters Rockefeller, followed by a fresh and flavorful green salad. My husband had the chimichurri marinated chicken sandwich, which was the special of the day, while I opted for the 14-ounce New York strip. Although I couldn’t finish the entire steak, it was perfect for sharing, and it was cooked to absolute perfection. The service was impeccable, attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere made for a lovely midday meal. We topped off the experience with a delicious slice of carrot cake, which was the perfect sweet ending. If you’re looking for an exceptional lunch in downtown Highlands, I highly recommend Primary for its fantastic food, atmosphere, and top-notch service“

“Grabbed some lunch, as we stayed at the Wyndham. Food was delicious and our waitress was wonderful! Will be back!“

“Went for a smash burger and onion rings. Good was very good. My server was inattentive and pushy. Halfway through eating (alone) she came to the table with her credit card machine and said ‘are you ready to settle up?.’ Burger in my hand. I looked at and said, not yet, thanks. She rolled her eyes and walked away. I had to ask another server if I could order a cider. She nodded and in 2 min was back with it. I finished my meal and waited 13 minutes for my waitress to return. I finally stopped another server and asked if he wouldn’t mind getting my server as I was ready to check out. She came back after 6 minutes with her machine and put it in front of me. I popped my card on it. ‘Would you like to include a tip?’

I’ll leave it in cash. She departs and I reached into my pocket and placed $1,56 on the table.
Then found the guy who brought my food and Cider and gave him $5. Found the other server who found my waitress and gave him $5.

‘How was your service?’ Well the two who brought my food and cider, and had to find my waitress to settle up, I tipped personally. The inattentive server assigned to my table I left $1 and change. About that time, my server walked up and said with her hand out holding her tip ‘I believe you left this.’ No, that’s for your service. ‘Really?!?’ She said. I looked at the greeter and said ‘see?’ I thfn walked out.“

“High end resturant, service was good. First time fist impressions a good resturant over all, prices on high side and we notice on the menu if sharing charge extra $4. Atmosphere very good & outside seating for pets if you have them.
See if next time food & service will improve. Could of been what we ordered since was lunch. As much was over cooked and servers where very matter if fact when serving and taking order.
