“It was our first time at Salt Fish. We looked at reviews and made reservations. WOW! Salt fish exceeded our expectations!!! Every entree was really good - black beans & rice, scallops and red drum. The true delight is dessert! The rum Cake is a must have - warm, light, complex. The vinho verde and sparkling rose were delicious. I will come Back just to have wine and dessert. “We had the table on the water. Beautiful view!! Unfortunately my phone slipped out of my hand and went straight into the water. Being a teenager without insurance on my phone I was obviously freaking out. The whole restaurant watched me jump off the dock in search of my phone and i was unsuccessful. Then, the manager of the restaurant came in so clutch. He jumped in after explaining he’s retrieved 28/28 phones. It was high tide so the chances were 1 to 100 but he got it after like 10 minutes. It still works and I’m using it currently to write this! He also would only accept my tip for his restaurant, not himself. the customer service is fire, and so is the food!“

“My boys and I had dinner here on Saturday after the music festival. There was a short 15-minute wait to get a table, but it was well worth the wait. Our server was wonderful, and on top of everything. We never had to ask for anything, and refills were on the table before we were out. “It's been a rough few weeks for small business owners in Southport since the storm and local road issues haven't helped. The other day instead of waiting in traffic I stopped in to check on a friend & fellow restaurant owner at Southport Gourmet and Sushi Bar. Like me at The Saucy Southerner their daily business has been greatly affected and I had an idea I offered the owners. I decided to put together a night with friends and let the restaurant show off a little! Let me tell you!! They showed off big time and made us the most amazing meal!! Our group ate until we couldn't eat any more, and then we ate more!! Everything was fresh, great service and the food was delicious!!! From the sensational appetizers to kick things off, to the second course of some delightful fresh sushi boats and then finished it off with some of their favorite items!! All around we all had a wonderful time and we're grateful to be able to support a local small business during these challenging times. The best part was we beat all the traffic issues, had quality time with friends and made the night a little better for everyone involved! Get out there and support local small businesses and slow down a little. Live life and have fun!!“

“Visited Ocean Grill & Tiki Bar and it ended up being one of my favorite spots on the trip. The location alone makes it worth going, right by the water with a really relaxed beach vibe. It’s the kind of place where you can sit outside, feel the breeze, and just take your time enjoying the food without feeling rushed.

The atmosphere is very laid back and tropical, with the tiki bar style setup and outdoor seating that gives you a great view while you eat. It feels more like a vacation spot than a regular restaurant. We went around sunset and the view made the whole experience even better.

Food was really good, especially the seafood. Everything tasted fresh and cooked right, not greasy or overdone. The grilled fish and shrimp were some of the best things we ordered, and the portions were good size. You can tell they focus on simple food done right. Drinks were also solid, the frozen drinks and cocktails fit the tiki bar vibe perfectly.

Service was friendly and easygoing. Even though the place was busy, the staff kept up with everything and made sure we had what we needed. Nobody rushed us, which I liked, it felt like a place where you’re supposed to relax and enjoy being there.

Prices were about what you’d expect for a waterfront restaurant, a little higher than normal but worth it for the view, atmosphere, and quality of the food.

Overall, Ocean Grill & Tiki Bar is a great spot if you want good seafood, cold drinks, and a nice view all in one place. Definitely somewhere I would go back to if I’m in the area again.“

“This gem of a taco place happened to be right down the road from our Airbnb. Everything we ordered came super fast. Everything was fresh and delicious. “First time here. I had a take out, and I ordered the spaghetti. Its very basic, and the sauce tasted like it came out of a bottle, no favor, and the noobles needed salt. I only eat what I could, and threw out the rest in the garbage. As for the restaurant itself, it needs be renovated. Looks like an old pizza hut from the 80's.“
