“We found this restaurant via Google search. We showed up without a reservation(sorry). We were welcomed and offered two seats at the bar. What a fantastic experience. Miranda was our server and there was nothing she could have done to make our dining experience more special. We spoke with the owners, the chef, and several servers, and everyone there made sure our dining experience was perfect. The drinks, the wine, the apps, the food(tuna nachos, crab fritters and shrimp Seoul bowls), everything was spectacular. We are already planning our next visit!“

“Our group of three ate here on a spring vacation. We liked it very much, we ate here twice! The place was small, yet not crowded. No wait for a table! One time there I had bacon and eggs , yummy! Another time there I had the BLT . Delicious! My parents and I enjoyed watching the people walking around the streets outside of our booth window and the restaurant noise level was not too loud. This made it easy for us to talk about our trip plans. The best part was our service was spot on… staff did awesome job on taking orders and getting them not only correct yet also out quick . “Fishy Fishy is a gem! It blends the best views, with excellent food and service. We first came as tourists, and now are residents of the area, and it's still our go-to restaurant in the Yacht Basin. We love a good early or late lunch, overlooking the water. The servers are personable and attentive. Believe me, it's not just a tourist stop. It's the type of restaurant you crave and expect in a special place like Southport.“

“Provision Company was amazing! I met a friend there for lunch, and we both ordered the crab cake special. It was absolutely delicious. The crab cakes were full of flavor and loaded with crab, the shrimp was fresh, and the corn and potato salad sides were so good.

The location is beautiful, right on the Cape Fear River. We sat facing the water and enjoyed the gorgeous view while we ate. The whole place has such a fun, relaxed coastal vibe.

One of my favorite little surprises was seeing the great egret the locals affectionately call Diva, who was patiently waiting on the far side of the building for shrimp. Such a fun touch to an already wonderful lunch. Great food, great view, great vibe — I’d definitely go back!“

“My boys and I had dinner here on Saturday after the music festival. There was a short 15-minute wait to get a table, but it was well worth the wait. Our server was wonderful, and on top of everything. We never had to ask for anything, and refills were on the table before we were out. “It's been a rough few weeks for small business owners in Southport since the storm and local road issues haven't helped. The other day instead of waiting in traffic I stopped in to check on a friend & fellow restaurant owner at Southport Gourmet and Sushi Bar. Like me at The Saucy Southerner their daily business has been greatly affected and I had an idea I offered the owners. I decided to put together a night with friends and let the restaurant show off a little! Let me tell you!! They showed off big time and made us the most amazing meal!! Our group ate until we couldn't eat any more, and then we ate more!! Everything was fresh, great service and the food was delicious!!! From the sensational appetizers to kick things off, to the second course of some delightful fresh sushi boats and then finished it off with some of their favorite items!! All around we all had a wonderful time and we're grateful to be able to support a local small business during these challenging times. The best part was we beat all the traffic issues, had quality time with friends and made the night a little better for everyone involved! Get out there and support local small businesses and slow down a little. Live life and have fun!!“

“Visited Ocean Grill & Tiki Bar and it ended up being one of my favorite spots on the trip. The location alone makes it worth going, right by the water with a really relaxed beach vibe. It’s the kind of place where you can sit outside, feel the breeze, and just take your time enjoying the food without feeling rushed.

The atmosphere is very laid back and tropical, with the tiki bar style setup and outdoor seating that gives you a great view while you eat. It feels more like a vacation spot than a regular restaurant. We went around sunset and the view made the whole experience even better.

Food was really good, especially the seafood. Everything tasted fresh and cooked right, not greasy or overdone. The grilled fish and shrimp were some of the best things we ordered, and the portions were good size. You can tell they focus on simple food done right. Drinks were also solid, the frozen drinks and cocktails fit the tiki bar vibe perfectly.

Service was friendly and easygoing. Even though the place was busy, the staff kept up with everything and made sure we had what we needed. Nobody rushed us, which I liked, it felt like a place where you’re supposed to relax and enjoy being there.

Prices were about what you’d expect for a waterfront restaurant, a little higher than normal but worth it for the view, atmosphere, and quality of the food.

Overall, Ocean Grill & Tiki Bar is a great spot if you want good seafood, cold drinks, and a nice view all in one place. Definitely somewhere I would go back to if I’m in the area again.“
