“This place is an easy beautiful drive from Asheville. Picturesque setting among the vines with a rustic barn porch and great one man band playing some classic rock, country, folk, etc. We met some super interesting locals who come here regularly and they regaled us with stories of travels and exotic wineries in Europe. “Stopped in for the Chorizo Lunchbox and it was excellent. The chorizo was perfectly seasoned, savory with a nice kick, and paired beautifully with the vibrant toppings. The plate came loaded with flavorful orange rice and beans, fresh avocado salad with red peppers and onions, plus a big pile of bright pickled cabbage that added great tang and crunch. Everything tasted fresh, well balanced, and satisfying without being heavy.
Great gluten free spot with authentic Puerto Rican vibes, friendly service, and solid value. Would definitely order the chorizo again, highly recommend if you’re in the South Slope area!“

“On Saturday, February 14th, I went downtown for a solo dinner at Huli Sue’s and quickly realized I had completely forgotten Billy Strings was in town for the weekend. Between Valentine’s Day and a sold-out show within walking distance, downtown was absolute chaos. Walking into Huli Sue’s, though, felt like stepping into a well-oiled machine. The hostess (I truly wish I had gotten her name) greeted everyone calmly and kept the flow of guests organized and welcoming. They were operating on a reservation system for the evening honestly genius given the circumstances. Even as a party of one, the wait was about an hour and a half, which I completely understood. Knowing I was craving their food, she suggested takeout. She even let me sit at the table where they roll silverware so I could look over the menu and wait for my roommate to text their order and never once made me feel rushed. While I waited, I watched her run the entrance like an absolute goddess. She was pleasant, efficient, and incredibly organized. Every table being notified was already set, down to water poured and ready. When guests arrived, she greeted them with genuine enthusiasm and walked them to their tables like they were honored guests. Downtown was a madhouse. People kept walking in without reservations, and she calmly explained the wait. When guests were understandably discouraged, she let them know they were accepting reservations for the 15th and I honestly didn’t hear a single person turn her down. She made everyone feel welcome. Despite the cold and the madness outside, the restaurant remained calm and peaceful inside. Even at full capacity, the volume stayed comfortable. The kitchen ran like an orchestra no yelling, no chaos, no stressed staff just teamwork and smiles. I wanted to take a moment to praise Huli Sue’s, their staff, and their phenomenal hostess. They handled what could have been an overwhelming night with grace and efficiency. They already had my business —but after that experience, I’ll make it a point to go even more often.“

“The only thing I don't like here is that the hours are bad! But that is IT.

I stumbled across Bad Manners just walking around, I live in west avl and I didn't even realize it was here! The location is nice because you can park in the mini lot in front of the store, or in ingles next door. Plus, it's right next to bottiwalla and a cute thrift store that I can't remember the name of (and of course all the other thrift spots in west Asheville!). I like the baristas here they are really nice, and the seating is limited but cute. They have a decent selection of gluten free things for the ratio of how much food they have in general- it's not a lot but it's the basics and something to munch on. All of the drinks I've tried here have been great!

Matcha is not perfect, it looks really green on top for the hot matcha but once you stir it's paler. But it's one of the better matchas in Asheville! It had a nice flavor and wasn't grainy. I would get it again.

“Favorite brewery in Asheville. Was looking for quality craft beer (good sours and Hazy IPAs) preferred. This place hit all the check boxes. Located in downtown Asheville, walkable from where we stayed. Close to the slopes area and other breweries/food/shopping. The sours were amazing. Candy/sweet flavors. IPAs were quality. They do have food as well although we didn’t eat here. Decent sized tap room with an outdoor space. If you’re looking for a good craft brew place do stop in here for a try. IPA/sour forward but they have lagers, darks/stouts and some side pull drafts as well.“

“A large group of us went and shared a bunch of plates, every single item on the menu was incredibly flavorful. It was hard for us to make up our minds on what was our favorite. Also, lots of good options for vegetarians. The atmosphere is beautiful and fun as well. I wish we had one in Greenville, but we will be back when we’re in Asheville!“

“We live just north of the village and come here often. Love Yellow Mug! Order at the counter, find a table indoors or out, they will find you when your food is ready. Terrific fresh-ground coffee, creative breakfasts, sandwiches, salads (I love The One with Quinoa and Butternut Squash—yes, that is its name). Very fresh food, veg/vegan and GF options, beer and wine, excellent wifi….one of our favorite places!!!“

“I always try to patronize small town coffee shops when I am on a road trip, so once I found Papertown, I made it a point to detour thru Canton on my way home from WNC. Lovely little shop that has a case of baked goods and breakfast sandwiches. Service was so friendly and I really enjoyed sipping on my cold brew. Canton has a charming downtown and I am going to make it a point to stop and enjoy more of the town next time!“

“We have lived in Asheville for about 15 years and have been eating Suzy’s food since there was only a food truck. It’s nourishing, delicious, and always filling, not to mention very fairly priced! “Absolutely fantastic experience!! From the greeting when we walked in - to the bar .. we were so blown away by the service! I got a hazy IPA that came out more hazy than usual. The bartender gave me a different IPA but someone in charge of brewing also saw our interaction, fixed the keg and brought me a new beer!! Such a great team!!

“How fun! From the high turf playground with frisbees, dogs, and families, to the afternoon DJ and daytime rave (those moves are much more comical in the daylight). To the delicious juicy force hazy IPA. The Adirondack chairs and fireplace were the perfect viewing station for an afternoon overlooking the river.“

“My wife and I happened upon this magical gem tonight. We had spent the day in Asheville and were actually looking for a Mexican restaurant. My wife saw this and said that we hadn't had BBQ in a good while. So, we changed our plans. We walked in and noticed the awards on the walls and the Pride shirt. Every minute inside was amazing! The front of the house staff were all so friendly. The food was absolutely wonderful! When one of the ladies that works the dining room came to the table, she was warm, sweet, and spunky! “I requested a 2 night stay in my Harvest Host / Boondockers app. I got a quick approval in mins. The brewery was easy to get to, had lots of parking & there was a small local band playing when I arrived. Sky was my very friendly bartender. I asked for a beer suggestion than was on the lighter side. He suggested the Cowboy Poet. He was spot on. I also ordered food from the pizza place. Was really delicious. I got to see Sky on my second night also. I would definitely revisit. The information & description of what to expect were exact. Thank you for sharing your business with the camping community.“

“Great food, service, & beer selection! The fried pepperoni & cheese curds were delicious. My wife liked the firecracker shrimp Alfredo, but said it had some spice. The Greek platter was amazing as well. I got the combination to try both the lamb & chicken. The chicken tasted like souvlaki & was good, but I favored the lamb. I typically would order an old fashioned, but they did not have large blocks of ice. Given what Helene’s impact on western NC, I was happy to see this restaurant thriving & folks in good spirit. “This was amazing! The pizza is so good, the staff is so nice, and the atmosphere is just pleasant to be around! We got a cheese, pepperoni and goat cheese-fig-bacon-pizza. They were to die for! There was a small band playing which was also nice. We decided to sit outside and it was very nice as well. The bathrooms were clean, the staff is polite, and the pizza is good. “We passed by Wagbar on our way to our Airbnb and just knew we had to visit. So many happy dogs playing, my dog was anxious to join everytime we passed by. I love that they take being up to date on vaccines serious. We were greeted by what I called the "Welcome committee" consisting of 3 huge golden retrievers. Got inside, ordered a few drinks and set Stash free. He was right away accepted into the group of dogs playing and shown around. Not only were all the dogs friendly and very social, but their owners were as well. Great conversations were had. Absolutely recommend this place. The employee working that day(can't remember her name) was amazing with the dogs. She took notice anytime the dogs were "bored". She would come out and entice them to play around. Hilarious seeing the regulars reaction to her approach because they KNEW what was up haha! Can't wait to visit again when we are in town.“
