“My husband and I stopped in to grab a coffee on the way to the Christmas lights and much to our surprise, the sweetest people that own it and work there. What a sweet experience. The coffee is great too!!“

“Melrose is THE place that gives out the cozy vibe...the interior design exudes an exquisite taste of class and social life, inviting indeed to all who intend to chill by having a cuppa ( tea or coffee) or simply a glass of wine...“

“Quiet, cozy, good place to read and write if you like that sort of thing. Good coffee. I like the raspberry white chocolate, hot.“
“Staff was kind, polite and efficient.
My only complaint is the leaking cup.
This is the second time that I bought the largest size of coffee and the bottom leaks.
Don't know if it's just a flaw in the largest cup size. There is a half inch of coffee sitting in my car cupholder after my 2 hour drive.
Thanks.“

“I usually go to Starbucks at least once a week. However, this was my first time visiting this location. Well, this was by far the BEST version of my usual drink - Grande Iced Caramel Macchiato with 6 pumps. It's odd that the same drink will taste differently at each location, but if that's the least of my worries I'd say I'm doing pretty darn good. Thanks for making my morning :)“

“I’ve been here twice now and it’s great! I’ve tried an egg and cheese breakfast croissant, a butter croissant and twice I’ve ordered a decaf vanilla latte with macadamia milk and it hits the spot every time! The staff is so friendly and patient and the drinks get to you prompt! A little longer in the food but nothing a little sitting and scrolling can’t fix. Will definitely revisit this place when I’m working in Clemmons a couple times a week.“

“As of this current year, up until this morning, I was thrilled with this location. Being that I work in Clemmons, I used to frequent the Clemmons spot, but that location is absolutely awful. Nice baristas but the wait, and parking lot logistics are so very bad. I started to go out of my way, and used Cloverdale. For a long time, it was my favorite. Great baristas deliver yummy food & service. Then they started with a barista out in the drive through, which IMO, resulted in watery drinks and cold food. So, I started with Jonestown. Not as out of my way, but still backtracking. Anyway, great baristas and yummy food. I even got hit while waiting at the window, by the dude behind me. But even that, didn’t compare to today’s crappy visit. I don’t know where the regular crew were, and I understand that people have bad days, but when you work with the public directly, and you are the face people see before driving away, you really should be at your best and act happy with your job, or at the very least smile and be courteous. The guy seemed deflated and told me it was busy, though I have seen it way worse. I tried to make it better by smiling and attempting to chat, but he just stood there and didn’t engage. Then he handed me one bag, and said have a good day. I said I still needed another bag and a drink. He looked at me with a blank expression. I then looked into the bag, and didn’t see my sandwich. I notified him it was wrong and he didn’t seem concerned. I showed him the bag and he said, yea a bacon Gouda. I said yea but it’s sausage and cheddar, it’s wrong. Again, blank stare. Someone else came over, I repeat myself and that person looks in the bag and says oh they put sausage on it, and walks away. I say to original barista, they also put cheddar, it’s not the sandwich I ordered. He finally says oh yea we made the wrong one. Ugh. So he steps away and comes back with another bag (my bakery item). Hands it to me and says have a good day. I say, I am still waiting for the coffee and the correct sandwich. So he steps away again and hands me the correct sandwich, which looks like someone made it without and care - ciabatta is off the egg and bacon is dangling off the sandwich, fine whatever. I repeat about my coffee. He looks confused. I repeat my coffee order, he steps away, and then as he is handing it to me, he runs his hand all over the top of the lid, including the spout area 🤦🏻♀️ It started with ordering. I’ve ordered my coffee this way for years. A grande iced coffee - light ice - with caramel & cream, classic ok. But this time the barista didn’t understand and started asking me if I wanted caramel syrup or drizzle. I have no idea, no one has ever asked me?? Ugh. I’m not typically a complainer, I usually broadcast fabulous service and understand everyone has bad days. But, I don’t think I will return to this location, which doesn’t leave me with many other location options. Now I’m deflated and I’m heading into work. Will I let this crappy morning affect me? No, because I work with the public and that’s not how I roll.“

“Delicious and fresh made donuts, lattes, and more! There was a line to get in, but it was worth the wait. We went in the fall and their autumn inspired menu was full of my favorite flavors. Pictured is a maple bourbon latte and autumn glaze donut. Both were made to perfect. There were so many delicious options, we ended up buying half a dozen. They stayed tasting fresh even a few days later!“

“☕️ The Power of Being Remembered: A Primal Branding Moment
“ The new mission is to create a community of people who become so passionate about your success, they create it themselves!”
_ Patrick Hanlon
What a breathtaking day riding the highways and roaming through the Blue Ridge Terrace, just in time to watch the last dance of the season leaves 🍂 glowing in orange, red, and green under the autumn sun. 🍁
I stopped for my favorite Starbucks, expecting nothing more than caffeine and comfort. Instead, I experienced brand magic.
The young woman behind the counter remembered me not just my face, but my drink order. She hadn’t seen me in over three years!
I asked, “How in the world do you remember me?”
She smiled and said, “You were besties with my former manager.”
Here’s the powerful part this wasn’t even the same store!
She carried that culture that Starbucks spirit with her.
And when she leaned over to coach the new barista on how to make my drink just right, I realized I was witnessing something few brands ever achieve: authentic brand belief in motion.
☕️ Starbucks through the Lens of Primal Branding
1. The Creation Story:
From one coffee shop in Seattle to a global community where connection happens over every cup.
2. The Creed:
To inspire and nurture the human spirit one person, one cup, one neighborhood at a time.
3. The Icons:
The green siren. The cup with your name. The smile across the counter.
4. The Rituals:
Ordering your favorite drink. The first sip. The familiar sound of espresso and courageous conversation.
5. The Nonbelievers:
Those who see Starbucks as “just coffee.” They miss the emotional ecosystem built cup by cup.
6. The Sacred Words:
“Grande.” “My usual.” #LeadLoudly Signature Drink “Venti caramel drizzle latte with whip!”
Language that turns a transaction into belonging.
7. The Leader (and Believers):
The baristas, like Stella of Starbucks Frontis Plaza BIvd, Winston-Salem, NC who carry the creed in their hearts proving that brand love is built through humanity.
Today in Winston Salem, North Carolina, I didn’t just order coffee, I experienced a brand that remembered me.
💚 Leadership lesson: The best brands don’t just deliver consistency, they deliver connection.
They don’t just build customers, they build community.
Cheers ☕️ to brands that make us feel seen.

“The coffee is good, and it's a pleasant place to sit and sip while you let them other folks seem comfortable cursing each other out on Jonestown Rd. Rather amusing really. Thanks for the experience. KCS AND COMPANY.

“Stupendously great gelato! I've been spoiled by a now-closed (COVID) gelato shop in Charleston, SC, as well as one in Raleigh. I did my research, and have visited both locations of Cafe Gelato. Fantastic gelato, great people. Fortunately, if I go out of my way, it's right on my way. I wouldn't go anywhere else!!“

“This location is sometimes, hit or miss. The very first couple of times we visited here the food was cold and the employee was distracted on their phone. However, both times we have returned (after a long break) it’s been very nice. Hot food & attentive employees. The Carmel Apple is my personal favorite. Overall glad they decided to come to Winston.“

“a few years ago, my mom was having surgery at the hospital and i was there with her for a few days. now, keep in mind, i was around 12 at this time. i noticed there was a starbucks in the hospital and my dad bought me some iced coffee (this was in 2017 so i don’t remember what drink) because it was early. well, my sister came along later and recommended a drink to get. so i got another drink a couple minutes later. then my mom gives me money and i get yet another drink. it was like 10 in the morning and the worker didn’t question why this twelve year old was downing three venti coffees at that time. i don’t remember his name or much else about it, but i reminisce about those times every time i pass it.“
