“Grabbed a coffee and breakfast sandwich a little after 8 am on a Saturday. Went inside as the drive thru was lined up into the parking lot. Employees were friendly and moved us quickly. Good stop for your morning pick me up, especially if you're heading to Target or the other local stores.“
“I can’t believe how good this place was. The vibe, the welcoming and smiling staff, the food … all totally on point. The coffees- we tried hot and cold- were each THE BEST we’ve had in Charlotte…no contest. No paper cups here if you eat in… coffee only as it should be served: in real mugs on saucers with decorative art in the foam that holds while you drink it. The bahn mi sandwich was light and tasty like it should be- loved the bulgogi one. The bread was beyond anything I’ve found locally. I can’t say enough to express my delight with this place… a hidden gem in Matthews that you NEED to experience!!?“

“I stopped in for a latte and took a few pictures of their menu board since I didn't find them when I looked on YELP. The service was friendly and my drink was hot and delicious! I'd definitely come back to try other drinks and some of the pastries as well. The inside is small but clean. The outside has some cushioned outdoor furniture and market lights in a sectioned off part of the parking lot. I believe there may be a tv outside as well.“
“An absolute hidden gem ! Lots of local items , specialty season baskets ( Easter is coming) outstanding coffee and the best baked goods . The rotation of baked goods keeps us coming back . We have sampled many items and can't pick a favorite as there as so many yummy options . The sausage balls are also delicious - a tasty protein snack that my boys cannot get enough of . The owner is friendly and welcoming- not to mention a very skilled baker with a flair for delightful treats. This weekend we grabbed hot cocoa , a bag of goodies and enjoyed a relaxing swing on the porch . A great small business . We just love The Packing House and all it has to offer. So . Darn . Good.“

“Anytime I am in the vicinity of Brakeman’s, no matter if I need it or not, it’s coffee time. It’s a quaint little home that they turned into a full-fledged business. The concept is locomotives, so the interior exposed brick, hard metal accent pieces, and even names of beverages all point in the same direction. The customer service is incredible and usually has the same faces, so getting to know the staff on a first name basis is very common. The bakery they contract with is a local non-profit and puts out amazing products. They also have other food related items for purchase for convenience. Where it all matters, because upscale coffee shops are white noise these days, the beans and roast are impeccable. I’ve tried a little bit of everything on their menu and the espresso is very high level. I highly recommend the Ticket to London. Pricing is on-point and reasonable considering the quality of product and location of business. What I really enjoyed, just as much as the rest of the aforementioned aspects, was the customer demographic. You get a variety of everyone in there, but yet it doesn’t feel overcrowded, overhyped, or commercialized. It’s just a good local spot with great coffee and top shelf staff. I highly recommend. “My daughter introduced me to the Uptown Tea Shop in Waxhaw a couple of months ago by buying some loose leaf tea for me. It wasn’t until yesterday that I went to the shop with her to see for myself. From the outside, you see a house and there are three shops inside. The quality of the decor could be slightly upgraded. The Uptown Tea Shop is in a medium size bedroom which has been converted to a little store.Here against the walls are nearly every flavor and types of loose leaf teas you can imagine. I typically like herbal teas and caffeine free teas and finding something new was fairly easy. There are also tea accessories such as canisters to keep your teas fresh. The prices I found to be inline with the quality of the teas. The customer service associate was polite, helpful and welcoming; needless to say I will be supporting this small business in the future.“

Albeit upstairs feels like you’re hanging out in a storage room. We like to sit outside and watch the Waxhaw traffic go by. Lots of parking around there. Lots of locals but coffee here. “This quiet cafe is a gem in the rough. I ordered a cappuccino and cinnamon muffin which came to about $12 with a modest tip. I'd expect to pay around $14 at the most for coffee for two. Orders are done on the front counter (no kiosk), seating is plentiful and there's even a digital fireplace for a toasty get together! This quiet cafe feels like home though home also has a cortado on the menu;) (if I had to nitpick).P.S. “Do you like a smooth sweet but not too over the top coffee? Brakeman's Honey Bee Latte is for you! I am sure their other drinks are fab but this is the drink I purchased a minimum of 5 times in my weekend sun the greater Charlotte area. Even when the place was busy, the baristas kept their positive and upbeat attitudes about them. It made the experience that much better. Plus, you have cute items and decor to view if you have to wait for your coffee which doesn't happen often given how quick the baristas are.“
“I came with my three kids since two had a teacher work day. Trying to make memories.IKYK. Anyways, my kids were actually being manageable but my son decided to channel his inner babe Ruth. A perfectly executed throw of his milk bottle directly into my latte. As a mom I wanted to cry. I was overwhelmed and outnumbered. Not your moms donuts was so beyond kind and helped me clean the mess( I insisted on helping because my slugger was the reason for the now spilled coffee) then they went ahead and made me a new coffee. I’m so very thankful we ventured out to see them today. They are not only kind and so understanding to parents but also the donuts were sooo tasty. I HIGHLT RECOMMEND THEM!“

“I visited Le Peep to have breakfast. The service was great, quick and friendly. Coffee was served in quickly and our order was taken. In less than 10, we had out full breakfast. My Greek omelette was light, fresh and not at all salty. Our cups were refilled without a request. Breakfast was delicious. I will return to sample other items.“

“The new older is extremely nice, friendly and much better then the previous owner. I am excited to see that changes he has made and the food is fresh and delicious. Had their new chicken salad sandwich and a coffee and it was great!They also now carry Waxhaw creamery ice cream. I don’t have to go downtown waxhaw to get their ice cream“

Two things to improve... whole milk & almond milk are not the same, please ensure I get what I pay for and the pumpkin spice is HEAVY handed. Typically I taste test at time of transaction but I was enjoying the conversation of the cashier. Got home was not satisfied... refrigerated and tried again this morning and had to dilute with home brewed coffee. My tea for the day has been spilled... thank you for your time.“
“Drive thru only coffee shop that offers coffee, smoothies refreshers, and some food. Service is quick and accurate, moving the line quickly, and staff was cheerful and friendly. Everything was good but nothing wowed me where I feel the need to go often. Will probably go back since the location is convenient, but I typically prefer coffee shops where you can sit and enjoy.“
“Super nice baristas. Although the egg sandwich comes out of plastic and is pre-made well in advance and then nuked, it hit the spot. Not being a coffee drinker I opted for the black iced tea. Again delicious. The beat part of the entire experience is sitting outside by the fountain looking over the beautiful campus of Wingate University. I just hope the view doesn't come with a parking ticket. We don't know where guest parking is. Update: Now open Saturdays 9am-1pm.“
