“My son and I had a nearby doctor appointment and put "breakfast near me" in the Google search... this delightful café came up... we took a chance and found it not only to be quality and sophisticated food, but a delightful ambience, friendly staff, visually pleasing food, baked goods and decor! even the bathroom was sweet! this is a new staple in my repertoire of breakfast/brunch and coffee spots. I expect to be a regular!“

“Such a cute bakery! Picked up pastries for my dad’s birthday and they were a big hit, especially the mango tart. He doesn’t like sweets but devoured that. They seem to have a mix of sweet and not too sweet items to give everyone an option. Will be back to try other options 🤩“

“This is a beautifully rendered restaurant, comfortable without being ostentatious, with excellent food rendered by the chef owner Ben Pollinger. You can dine outdoors, in their bar area, or in the spacious dining room. The wine list is nice, with good wines across a wide price range.“

“This is my favorite local place to grab a quick lunch, or grab food to go. I have converted most of my family to loving their chicken pot pies - they are divine and so easy to heat up at home!
You can't go wrong with any item on the menu, though my favorite is their farm burger with their lemonade. You can sit outside at a table (with umbrella) to enjoy the day, or sit inside. They have 1 bathroom open to the public.
They offer a variety of farm goodies each season: eggs, pumpkins, ice creams, lavender, and more.
The staff are always friendly and I always look forward to going there.
Also, you need to try their pies!“

“EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT!!!
Holy Schlitz! This is the best pastrami I've ever tasted including Katz's, Carnegie Deli (70s-90s), & Harold's of Raritan (80s-2010s)! If you've not gone, GO!!! I won't steer you wrong. It's tender, juicy, fresh, and has so much flavor! It's the Kobe of Pastrami! Sorry, didn't try the corn beef or knish but maybe next time. I got the $15.95 sandwich plus one Lb of pastrami $26.95. Tax is 6.625%. I paid cash but they do take cc. Just GO!“

“Featured on Binging with Babish. This is an excellent breakfast burrito, we tried both the bacon and chorizo burritos. I slightly preferred the chorizo - hints of lime, big chunks of avocado. This is a hefty meal at a very good price. Excellent service, kind and friendly staff, and perfect to take to the park“
“So we had the Candy/Ice Cream Truck as a fun addition to our Hanukkah Celebration. Booking the truck was super easy! Liz was on time and just so sweet! The variety of candies blew us all away! An absolute must to make your celebrations extra special. We will be using them again!“

“Stop the presses!! I found a great new restaurant where artistry trumps slinging hash. It’s Pop Empanada, re-christened Pop Pasta Supper Club on Thursdays and Saturday nights. On those days, Chef Nicolas Pescatore prepares a 6 course meal, and even if you don’t like every course, you will appreciate the artistry and the ambition. Tonight, the courses were 1. celery avocado salad (replacing salmon, which this landlubber doesn’t like), 2. shrimp empanada in a butter curry sauce, 3. pork belly confit, 4. raviolo-soft boiled egg center in a brown butter sage sauce, 5. brisket ragu paccheri pasta, and 6. dessert of frangelica panna cotta key lime shortbread crumble. The cost with tip is around $100 per person plus the cost of your BYOB. We wouldn’t pay that cost often, but it’s a welcome break from the restaurants where kitchen staff show up at 4 PM and are ready to serve at 5pm.“

“Was looking for Mediterranean food for my wife and I on a casual evening out and we were not disappointed. Super friendly/helpful staff, wonderful atmosphere, and a wonderful selection of food. My wife and I got a bowl and we both loved it. If you are looking for a counter style Mediterranean place to eat this is a fantastic choice! All the food is made fresh. My wife ordered pita chips and falafel on the side and both were made fresh when we ordered. The pita chips were thick and super crispy. The falafel was incredibly moist too. Highly recommend!“

“My boyfriend and I have passed this cute restaurant many times, but yesterday was our first experience eating there. We came on a Sunday for a late brunch and there was lively gospel music playing and also a live guitarist. The atmosphere is homey, comfortable and inviting. We went in blind and ordered the fried chicken dinner and the BBQ dinners with potato salad and greens. We also ordered a side of mac & cheese. The house provides biscuits and muffins drizzle in honey and syrup. These were served warm and they were delicious! The dinners we had were absolutely phenomenal! 10 out o 10. The portions were also very generous. We were moved by the food and could tell that they were prepared thoughtfully with love and care. Everything was beautifully seasoned and flavorful. This place is a hidden gem and can easily compete with some of the heavy-hitter soul food restaurants in Harlem like Melba's. Melba's is one of our favorites, but My Father's House is on par or surpasses Melba's in certain respects. We were delighted to meet the chef and owner of My Father's House named Adrian. She was absolutely delightful and greeted us so warmly. I learned that she is a preacher and a teacher and has opened up the restaurant in honor of her late father. You can feel the love and sincerity in this establishment. We will definitely be back and inviting others and recommending it to others! We also sat next to a beautiful Asian family who was dining there for the first time along with us and they also said they absolutely loved the food. 10/10! Can't wait to go back!“
“Phenomenal IPA’s, sours, and seltzers! This was my second time here and their menu just keeps expanding more and more. I felt like they had more options in person than what was listed online. Phenomenal vibe, good people, and good beer. I will return and recommend it!“

“This is a pleasant addition to town, and obviously quite popular. I only gave 2 stars for food because despite having a collection of 3 nondairy milks (75 cent upcharge not appreciated!) there is not a single food item a vegan or person with dairy issues can eat. Also, the only place you can sit and work on a device is the big table, which is usually full. Every other sitting area has tables that are the same height or lower than the chairs/stools so really not back friendly. Service is good and nice minimalist vibe-- will be back!
Response to owner: Regarding vegan pastries, if they are indeed vegan (dairy, egg, butter honey free) then why not label them as such or at least put up a little sign that says ask us about our vegan options?“

“Popped over with my 8-year-old that “needed” a hot dog. Adorable historic spot … we were incredibly impressed with the fresh buns and the very very hot spicy chili that did not disappoint. Staff was fantastic and the line was out the door, but they knew exactly how to hustle people through. Understand why this is included on the New Jersey hotdog Trail and people need to go here!!!“

“Fantastic local spot, gets quite busy during peak lunch and dinner/weekends. Nice salads, burgers and wings. Lots of interesting patty choices (elk, bison, etc). Also, one of the best (most diverse, interesting) rotating domestic crafr tap lists in the county. They're always playing great rock, blues & funk.“

The staff have always been welcoming, and the croffles come out warm with the perfect texture. I especially like the blueberry croffles, and I hope to try tiramisu next. “My only complaint is that the lone worker today, when I was paying with a credit card (without tap) took my card and tried to use tap. Before she took my card I was going to put it into the card processor. When I pointed out that it doesn’t have tap, she (2x’s) typed my card information into the register screen and it was declined (plenty of credit was available because I got gas with it shortly after). I then used my debit card which she just took from me and again tried to use tap (again not a feature on that card either). She was finally able to put my card information for the debit card and it went through. If she had let me put my card in in the first place there would have been no problem with the original transaction attempt. I feel some of the staff might need better/more training on using the register.“

“My husband and I was craving some good authentic pizza and let me just say this place DID NOT disappoint. The owner and everyone that worked there was super nice which made me love it even more. I wanted my husband who’s from Baltimore to try zeppole, he’s never heard of it and for me, growing up in Bk and Staten Island it was one of my childhood favs. They didn’t have any made when I asked about it which was fine but while I was in conversation with their delivery driver the owner came out with some. He actually went out of his way to make me some zeppole, and it was delicious and extremely nostalgic for me. He has no idea how that made my day and brought back so many memories to me. Their food is delicious, atmosphere warm and friendly. I recommend this place and we will be back.“

“Very clean, well maintained. This used to be owned by Japanese as a sushi restaurant but I guess its been that long I haven’t visited this spot. I was looking for the ‘Japanese thick cut katsu’ and it was done pretty well. It was surprisingly quiet for a weekend lunch, which made me hope more people discover this place soon. The staff seemed a bit down—understandably so—but I believe they’re on the right path with their katsu.“
