“What an amazing experience we had at The Plating! We dined with my brother who’s been raving about this place. It was one of the best elevated Korean food we’ve ever had.
My husband (professional chef) was blown away by the quality of food!
We started out with Gujeolpan, and ordered Braised Angus short rib, Sotbab with sliced brisket. Every dish was prepared perfectly and banchan (side dish) were freshly made by the chef.
Pricing was reasonable for the quality they provide. Anyone who’s been to modern Korean restaurants in NYC will appreciate the value of food you are getting at The Plating. We felt the chef’s passion and dedication to this wonderful restaurant. We will definitely come back with rest of our family and friends in a near future.
Decor, table setting, plates.. all the details of the restaurant were curated by the owner. If anyone wants to experience authentic modern Korean cuisine, it is worthwhile to travel to this restaurant in NJ.“

“It's such a futuristic way of getting your Korean fried chicken. So simplistic so to the point crunch is phenomenal, And even though it's made to order it's still fast! It reminds me of those individual food dining cubbies/booths for people who like minimal contact/interactions during dining that I've tried in Japan before. A lot of the items that I wanted were sold out but the experience was so well that I will go back again in hopes to get those items ☺️
(I'm not a spicy person but if you are the bokki is perfect for you, to me it was too spicy to enjoy unfortunately, even with the cheese added. But everything else about the bokki was spot on delicious!)“

“This place is SUPER affordable and the food is amazing ! I have been here twice two days back to back and will probably be going again. They are very nice and the food is very comforting. They change the sides up and it’s always delicious! Imagine all this for 12 bucks!!!! Spicy pork and the other is the beef bento Box“

“Very good food. Great service, friendly staff and waitress. I recommend the fried chicken, and the kimchi fried rice. The black sesame pudding, as a dessert, was insanely delicious and buttery. Super good.
Brussel sprouts were very tasty. Tteokbokki dish was very interesting and a good interpretation of a creamy, rich pasta-like dish (a bit like a creamy Mac & cheese with everything seasoning). Enjoyed every dish.
Matcha beer was fine, but would opt for a regular beer or cocktail next time.“
“This is my first time here all the way from Newtown, Connecticut, and it Definitely did not disappoint. The atmosphere, the food, and of course, the wonderful service. Aymaan Was our server, and I’ve eaten at many restaurants and this is by far one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. He was on top of everything, and treated us with tons of respect. I asked him multiple questions and he was able to answer them at the top of his head. A very kind, hard-working young man.“

“Brilliant Korean spread at Cho Dang Gol in midtown Manhatten. Specializes in tofu dishes so we plumped for the spicy tofu hotpot but also ordered some tasty beef and zucchini pancakes and spicy gochujang chicken. This eatery features on the Michelin guide and is always packed, and rightly so! Maybe a little on the sweeter side for my taste but isn’t everything in the USA? 😜 Regardless, it was stupid tasty and we inhaled everything“

“Food is the BEST. I love the tripe soup a lot, the rice wine, and the bulgogi. They provided some cold dishes like kimchi in the beginning which also tastes amazing. I love this place so much and the owner (I think) is super nice and friendly.“

“This spot is a bit of a hole in the wall. It's cozy but elegant. One thing to note, is it's definitely Korean forward cuisine vs. Japanese which does contribute to the overall flavor profiles. We got the 5 hand roll set along with the scallop crudo and Janchi Guksu. For the handrolls the fatty tuna was a favorite, while the shrimp was a miss. It was like a cold shrimp salad. The scallop crudo was delicious, and the Janchi Guksu was a little too fishy for my taste.
Overall this place is worth giving a try, but I think I may personally stick to Japanese handrolls.“

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Came to KPOT BBQ for the food and left raving about the entire experience. The food was great, fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you hope for when you walk into a place like this. But somehow the service was even better. Shoutout to Stella, our server, who absolutely made the night. Attentive, friendly, funny, and on top of everything without ever hovering. She handled our table like a pro and cooked some of our food for us too! , even while I was clearly having the time of my life and probably making a bit of a spectacle of myself. Stella, if you’re reading this, thank you for making an already great meal unforgettable. And if by some chance you felt the same good vibes, feel free to reach out. Either way, KPOT BBQ has a customer for life.“

“All the side dishes were great, especially the oyster kimchi was the real highlight 🦪🙆♀️
Everything tasted super fresh, and you have to try the galbijjim and braised kimchi with pork bones 🥹 so good! The galbijjim is a bit spicy 🌶️ but it balances the richness perfectly :)
Great atmosphere too 🙌 perfect for bringing your parents :)
Next time, I’m getting the galbijjim with noodles and fried rice for sure! 😋“

“I love this place. Whether you want some k-bbq or kalbi-tang or even some nangmyun, this is always the perfect place!
The waiters are very attentive and helpful.
I’ve tried different k-bbq places in NJ but wooga is the best among them.
Specially their yookhye is the best of the best. I love korean style beef tartare and no place can beat it. I can eat it literally every day 😆“

“Got the half mozzarella, half beef dog with the potato coating and it hit the spot. Super crispy on the outside, cheesy and juicy on the inside. It is one of those things where you take a bite and immediately want another.
Edit: I wish it came with a full beef dog instead of just half, and the kimchi fries didn’t include enough fries or kimchi for what we paid.“

“I LOVE this place!! Best lunch spot in the garment district by far—this has been my go-to lunch for office days. Everything’s delicious but I especially love the spicy pork and bulgogi ssams (you can do half and half which is amazing). My coworkers also really love the tofu ssam. They’re refreshing, healthy, and super filling. All the sauces are equally delicious too! Plus there are Korean pear and grape juices that are so full of flavor. It is a ghost kitchen, so there’s not much seating to eat inside, but I was always taking my order back to my office so it didn’t matter to me.
I cannot recommend this place enough—I’ve been turning all my coworkers onto this hidden gem! Switching jobs soon so I won’t be in the neighborhood, and going to miss this place a bunch! Will definitely be back anytime I’m back in the area. Thank you Gary for everything!!“

“Korean marinated crabs, shrimp, abalone and other more tradition dishes as well as a seafood tower. The bagged drinks were good, but preferred the simple sweet rice drink. The place is packed and smells great, but pretty loud. Gloves are provided to handle the marinated items, also ordered pork stew, rice chirashi and pancakes. Ok service, a bit lagging to get the bill and pay.“

“Okay so I do think this is a chicken and burger joint now combined together on the outside of the building. I really didn't notice the time for the chicken place. It was any small corner lit up attached to a burger place. With that said I am not mad at it as I ordered the bulgogi burger which was so good. Very soft and flavorful and I also ordered a order of 10-piece wings. I split it between soy, garlic and sweet and spicy. Now for me I am a Korean chicken lover and I just did it fully get the full experience of Korean Chicken meaning that in every bite it is very crunchy and it is packed with the sauce flavor on top for me. I did not get that full effect and that's really why. I love Korean f and wings that are usually double fried so they get a very nice crunch and the sauce is usually nicely styled on now. There was something wrong with the sauce but I would have liked to have a little bit more of it as well as more of a crunch. I would definitely come back here. I did notice that the burger place and the chicken plays. I have menus but a little bit different. I did order from Uber eats so I didn't really notice that at the time until I really checked out your iron. They do have the tablet where you can order from as soon as you get there. That has Uber just did for both places. However I was very happy with the wings. I got 10 pieces which I think you can order. I only ordered through the bloomberger site and they were nice sizes.“

“I want to say this place was great in food, vibes, and coziness. This is a great definition of a mom and pop restaurant.
Firstly the food.
I had the bulgogi bento. The bulgogi looked, smelled, and tasted amazing. It had the normal bulgogi flavor with that nice hit of smokiness almost like wokhay from Chinese cooking. I loved each bite as the smokiness hit my mouth and nose. The sides of the bento was good too, the dumplings were nice and crunchy with a nice but just a tad bit bland filling, tho to be fair the filling is fairly standard for korean dumplings. The kimichi is what I prefer, which is the more freshly made kind. And the rice was cooked as I expected from a Korean restaurant, which is good. The salads were fine again its a salad, but it was nice that they added kale to the salad adding this bit of variety. The salad dressing was sweet and a bit tangy, mostly sweet which I do like since I have a sweet tooth.
The other bento was the shrimp tempura, I did get one of the shrimp tempura and it was good. The crunchy and breading was nice and you had the shrimp flavor that was still there.
Finally the tteokbokki. It was great. The rice cakes were chewy and soft and the fish cakes were soft and not mushy. The flavor of the sauce was great too, it had this nice umami to it and was the perfect level of spicy to enjoy.
The price for the food was also reasonable. Both bento costed roughly $18 each and the tteokbokki costed $12. They also had an interesting line up of drinks that was nice.
All this aside I want to also note how cozy and welcoming it felt. The lady that was serving us was very kind and caring. She even asked about how the addition of kale to the salad was because it was a new addition that they changed because people liked kale. I really liked that attention to detail. The store was medium sized with some odds and ends here and there but that added to the charm of the place.
I went on a Thursday during lunch time and it had a good amount of business via pick up but I was there alone with the person I was with dining in.
Overall as a Korean I think this place hits better then certain places in mind the food was good and the atmosphere was comforting.
I do regret not trying some of the other menu items I guess I have to return for some more.
For the sake of Google reviews I gave everything a 5. My personal score may be closer to a 4.4 which is high for my own personal score“

“Raon managed to delight across a well paced tasting menu and drink pairing (both the non-alcoholic, which featured interesting and memorable entries and the mixed pairing). While billed as a Kimchi-led tasting menu, the named dishes take center stage in both portion size and flavor. All the Kimchi dishes are excellent, but never overshadow the course they are paired with (which might be a bit unexpected depending on how the menu was advertised to you).
All the staff were exceptionally friendly and there really wasn't a miss anywhere in the progression.
I would definitely recommend stopping in to try some individual courses on the bar snacks menu (the uni gimbap was a particular favorite of mine) if you aren't prepared to do the full tasting menu.“

“I've eaten at many Korean fried chicken places across Bergen County over the years, and this was hands down the best. The flavor was incredibly authentic and reminded me of the original Korean-style chicken I grew up with. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and every bite was packed with flavor.
After trying so many places, I can confidently say I've finally found my go-to chicken spot. This is where I'll be coming from now on. Highly recommended for anyone looking for truly authentic Korean fried chicken!“

“KOBA Korean BBQ nails that sweet spot between stylish and cozy — the kind of place where the vibes are right, the grill is hot, and the food seriously delivers. The quality of the meat is standout (the marinated short rib was a favorite), and everything is cooked right at the table for that perfect smoky sear. The banchan was fresh and flavorful, and the dipping sauces added just the right kick. Service was friendly and on point, making the whole experience feel smooth and effortless. If you’re looking for Korean BBQ that’s modern, delicious, and just the right amount of elevated, KOBA’s got you.“

Staff. The K street burger 🍔 hit the spot with the honey 🍯 drizzled buns. The fries were mediocre. The store front was flashy but can clean up on the floor a bit. No seating area, but nice to take to the park. Also love the yuzu Japanese drinks.“

“So glad I found this place, this is going straight to my favorites list I will definitely be revisiting. I was looking for a casual neighborhood eat for dinner the other night.
This place specializes in DIY kimbap (rice rolls) or bi bimbap (rice bowls). I did a DIY bulgogi bibimbap bowl. The bowl includes a choice of protein, 5 veggie toppings, choice of rice (brown or white) and choice of sauce.
You can also make it a meal with +$5 which comes with Mandu (chicken, pork, or veggie), salad, AND soup.
The quality and taste was great! I really loved the gochujang dressing it was so tangy and sweet. The Mandu were cooked so well, so crispy and juicy. I love that the portions are also huge!
Really good deal for $20. And the service person was so friendly :)

“This is EXACTLY what I was looking for.
I needed some super super lazy easy way to eat lots of variety and especially vegetables everyday and this place is:
- Cheaper than Woorijip.
- Way healthier than Woorijip.
- Got less kids than Woorijip.
- And it's far from 32nd street so there's always seating.
The store vibes are on point and the way they structure the store makes it easy to take your time to browse even when there's a lot of people around.“

“A Korean-style donkatsu place is finally open in this area, and it has been so long overdue! The moment you walk in, the clean and modern interior sets a welcoming tone that makes it perfect for a quick lunch or a casual dinner. I tried the signature king-sized cutlet, and the portion was impressive, arriving piping hot and beautifully plated. The sauce is the real star here, offering that nostalgic, slightly sweet, and savory flavor that defines authentic K-style comfort food. Every bite delivered a satisfying crunch from the golden-brown breading, while the meat remained incredibly tender and juicy inside. I especially appreciated the traditional sides, like the light cream soup and the refreshing shredded cabbage salad, which balanced the richness of the meal perfectly. The service was prompt and attentive, ensuring that the water glasses stayed full and the food arrived shortly after ordering. It is a fantastic addition to our local dining scene, and I can already tell this will be a regular spot for my weekend cravings. Whether you are a longtime fan of the dish or trying it for the first time, this place is definitely worth a visit.“

“Delicious Korean style Chinese food inside of H Mart, a popular Korean grocery store. It is set up like a food court style where you order at the counter, pay, then wait for your number to be called to pick up your food on a tray.

“Whenever I find myself craving a comforting bowl of Yeonpotang (octopus soup), Hansang is my reliable choice for takeout. The service is consistently warm and welcoming. What stands out most about their preparation is the clean, natural flavor profile; it notably avoids the heavy reliance on artificial seasonings that you sometimes find in restaurant soups, leaving you feeling nourished rather than weighed down.
While I have noticed the dining room is a bit quieter on weekdays compared to the past, the quality of the kitchen remains steadfast. Their Yeonpotang is exceptional. The broth carries a delicate, slightly spicy kick, perfectly balanced by the natural, refreshing sweetness of squash and napa cabbage. The octopus itself is remarkably fresh and tender, truly serving as the centerpiece of the dish.
I highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a genuine, comforting meal. Their octopus soup is a prime example of the clean, restorative qualities of traditional Korean cuisine here in New Jersey.“

“This was my first time visiting a naengmyeon place since coming to the U.S., and it was absolutely worth it.
Both the Mul Naengmyeon and the Bibim Naengmyeon were delicious, and the Buchu Jeon was especially amazing.
The setup is pretty straightforward.
You order at the counter, find your own seat, pick up your food when it is ready, and return everything yourself afterward. Since it is self-service, there was no separate tip expected. Even so, everyone was very kind, and I also loved that hot broth was available for self-service.
After living in Boston, where it can be hard to find really good Korean food, I was so happy to finally have such a satisfying meal.“

“I loved this experience. Visited with my roommates for a Saturday lunch. Two of us got the bento lunch box and it was perfectly sized and so flavorful!!! My other roommate got the burger which was just as noteworthy. Main highlight – we all split the famous Golden Diner pancakes for dessert. I really think this is the ultimate hack to try it because it’s a smaller portion and reservations here aren’t hard to get. I think this place would be perfect for a larger group with attentive service and fun, casual vibes that would attract any crowd.“
