“What a nice cozy place. We sat at the bar. It was great. Our bartender was so Attentive, btw. We had the same name. Jane was super friendly. We mostly got appetizers, they got a lot of selection. We got shishito pepper, pumpkin tempura, crispy squid legs, spicy wings, crispy rice spicy tuna and chicken teriyaki. They were so good. We loved everything we got. We will come back for ramen for sure.
Vegetarian options: I saw one Vegetarian ramen. And couple appetizers and Salad“

“I absolutely love this place. I stop here every time I come into town for business. Delicious, consistent food every time, no matter when I arrive. Tried a matcha beer which was very pleasant after a rough flight in. Ramen was perfect as usual. My absolute go to for quick delicious food!“

“The Veggie Ramen had the most delicious mushrooms and the fried rice is the best fried rice I've ever eaten. This will be my go to restaurant every time I come to the city. I cannot recommend this place enough.“

“This ramen restaurant offers exceptionally flavorful noodles. For tonkotsu ramen, thinner noodles are used, while shoyu ramen features thicker ones, achieving the perfect balance for each dish.
The atmosphere is trendy and inviting, the staff is friendly, and the place is always buzzing with patrons, a testament to its well-deserved popularity.“

“Local ramen spot in Astoria, this is the spot. Reasonably priced and friendly staff. The food was overall great, with the ramen broth being less salty than I remember last which was a nice touch. Definitely go for the classic for those who enjoy pork, the katsu was so soft and fluffy. The karage was crispy and juicy and the tako was as expected. Will be back to try other items soon!“

“This is definitely an out of the ordinary ramen restaurant. To start with, you have a remote hostess ? then you are encouraged to order and pre-pay your food from your table. Fortunately, the restaurant was not full and the waiter had the consideration to take our order ?
The food was good ? I ordered a black mountain ramen, which had an earthy pleasant taste. We also ordered edamame, and gyozas ? everything was good
The ambience was spacious and nice and the service was also good ?“

“Ended up here accidentally on a layover: Hands down, the best ramen I’ve ever had (springy, slurpy perfection), amazing cocktails (if you like gin the Japanese 75 is a must try!), and whatever the whipped cream, creme brûlée’d banana dessert was tasted like heaven. I even ordered another tonkotsu ramen to go (all the way to Florida) to bring back to my fiancé. They separated all of it, packaged it so it wouldn’t leak, and wrote directions on specific timing for heating up each item! Very impressive service. I’ll be back again!“

“Visited here while solo travelling in New York a few months ago. I ended up making this my local evening eatery. The food was flavourful, the pork melted in your mouth and the broth for the ramen was so creamy. The prices are decent and the staff were lovely. Highly recommend this place and I can’t wait to visit again when I go back to New York.“

“Really enjoyed this ramen spot in Hell’s Kitchen! The atmosphere feels so authentic, like a little piece of Japan—I’ve never been 😅, but it really gave me that vibe. I had the pork ramen, and while the broth was a bit salty for me, it was still super tasty. Thank you for the great hospitality!“

“This place has been my favorite to have ramen and I wish I could give it 4.5 stars instead of 4. However they need to train their staff more because a few days ago I asked the waitress about the difference between tonkotsu's broth and miso's, it took her 5 seconds to think and only replied "The miso one has miso" without articulating how it tastes. Luckily the miso came out great and I enjoyed the meal. Will definitely come back!“

“We walked in and it was pretty vacant however, it was lunch time on a Monday so that wasn't much of a surprise. It had a large selection of noodles, if you walk in and see the wall you'll see all the various options and then some. It was a little ambiguous until we saw the kiosk. The food however, was amazing. We got the beef and the duck duck noodles. You do have to make your own noodles and the instructions are on the tray on how to do it. Would definitely try again!“

“Came here for the first time for dinner the other day and loved it! Had to wait about 25 minutes which wasn't too bad and upon being seated it was very clear this was a family-friendly place. The one thing I noticed is that the music was a teensy bit loud but other than that the place felt cozy and roomy! We split a few apps - the chicken karaage, the brussel sprouts, and the pork gyoza which were all delicious! The ramen was also great - I went with the chicken katsu curry special which was perfect though I will say the base was a little oily for my liking. The chicken cutlets were well-seasoned and well-breaded! All in all, a great meal with friends.“

“Here’s an enhanced version:
The tan tan ramen was absolutely delicious, with a rich, creamy broth that had the perfect balance of flavor and spice. The edamame and kimchi were fresh and tasty, making for great sides to complement the meal. The prices were very reasonable, and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere—especially since it wasn’t crowded on a Tuesday night. Highly recommend for a cozy, flavorful ramen experience!“

“small ramen with big flavors. I enjoyed everything from the chill atmosphere to amazing food. the blend of Peruvian cuisine with traditional Japanese dishes is a match made in foodie heaven. I had the double fried wings and sloppy joe bao bun for a starter and each dish was better than the last. the wings were super crispy yet tender inside and the sloppy joe bao buns were a trip down memory lane. the sloppy brought me back to my childhood eating at a friend's house. for my ramen I had the tonkatu. their pork broth was hearty and tasteful and reminded me of my first bowl of real ramen. I highly recommend going there and finding out on your own...“

“Good day, we were greeted upon entry and initially planned on dining in. The cashier was pleasant to me. She was also seemingly ok with me expressing it being my first time and the Inquiries I made. We decided to eat in the vehicle due to parking meter. I stayed in the vehicle while my friend went inside to pick up our order. Upon returning, I was informed that the same cashier was rude about us changing our order to go. Anyways the vegetable ramen bowl was great but my friend was not pleased with the shrimp teriyaki bowl.
Vegetarian options: I loved how fresh my mushrooms were in my bowl. There were also other options on the menu.
Dietary restrictions: Claims there is no cross contamination with any food allergies.
Parking: After 7pm there is more free street parking.“

“I got the basic Ramen and it was great! Next time I will add the extras. It was our first time so we didn’t know what to expect. Great texture and the broth was rich. Absolutely amazing! All I knew was that a friend said it was one of the most authentic places he has been to and he recommended that I try it while in New York! Not disappointed at all!!“

“I will preface this review by saying I typically never review restaurants on google / yelp whether for good or bad purposes - I'm going out of my way for Sakai Ramen because of how amazing of an experience I had.
1. The food truly shocked me being surrounded by Chili's, Cava, and other chains; the N1 ramen spicy is phenomenal and I will be visiting Secaucus to order again.
2. The portions are amazing - typical NYC ramen restaurants I leave still hungry. That is not the case with this establishment.
3. My waitress Emma was extremely helpful, welcoming, and nice to talk to. Pointed me in all the right directions on the menu for someone who is inexperienced with ramen.
For those reasons, I'm happy to right this positive review for Sakai Ramen and highly encourage anyone looking for a restaurant in the plaza area to 100% go. Excited for my next visit!“

“Ramen in New York is often mediocre, but I think the Kitakata ramen here is the closest to Japanese soy sauce ramen among the ramen shops in Manhattan. The seasoning of the chashu, menma, and boiled egg is not customized for America, and the soup is not too sweet and has depth, so I think this is the kind of soy sauce ramen that Japanese people want.
It's in a relatively new restaurant mall, so the inside is clean, and it's in a somewhat remote area, so it's quiet. I would like to have enough customers to keep it from collapsing.
As a side note, when I ate the fried chicken at a restaurant, it felt ordinary, but when I took it home and ate it half a day later, it tasted strangely delicious. I'll take it home next time. I will visit again.
Thank you for the meal!“

“The first time I went to this place I loved it but I came back a few weeks ago and my experience was totally different. The food wasn't that good and the service wasn't that great either but it could just be bad luck at the time. I love that it has a great parking lot.“
