“I really appreciate this location and all the great staff who work hard to ensure the town starts their day out right. Not every Dunkin is the same and even if I am headed in a different direction, I will go out of my way to stop by my favorite location with the best staff and who always takes care of me.“
“Suraya Restaurant in Philadelphia is a culinary delight, offering an authentic Lebanese experience in the heart of Fishtown. It’s known for its exquisite food and perfect service, with a cozy ambiance that’s ideal for any occasion. The menu celebrates traditional Lebanese dishes with a modern twist, and the desserts are particularly renowned. While prices are a bit premium, the quality and the dining experience are well worth it. The patio area is a city favorite, providing a unique outdoor setting with a separate bar. Suraya isn’t just a meal; it’s a memorable dining event that’s definitely worth a visit.“
“Love this place for Gelato and drinks. Feel like in Italy when entering the shop. can eat in or take out Gelato. There is a bar inside that they made fresh coffee as well. Best espresso martini and Aperol spitz. There is a restaurant upstairs too but didn’t try yet. Many import staff from Italy. Very enjoy to be in this place. really recommended“
“Food is great very creative I’d recommend the shrimp taco, new favorite place drinks are good too not watered down like other places. Service here is awesome. Leah is great our second visit she remembered my name she treats her regulars like we visit everyday. At one point I thought she was the owner bc she does such a great job running the place. This is now my favorite place to go.“
“A cute pet-friendly cafe with a persimmon theme in Fishtown. It might be a popular spot in the neighborhood as it was busy on a Sunday morningSide note: My friend recommended me Drift Magazine for city coffee guide and I was excited to flip the physical copies there. We ordered latte and cappuccino. Very smooth coffee with a nutty espresso base. Well-frothed milk gave a creamy texture. Loved the latte art on top. The porcelain mugs and coasters they used were cute. Their pastries looked attractive to serve with coffee too.“
“Il Sorriso is a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of the city. The moment you step in, you're greeted by the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff make it the perfect spot to unwind or catch up with friends. Their espresso is bold and flavorful, and their pastries are delectable. Whether you're a coffee aficionado or just looking for a relaxing atmosphere, Il Sorriso never disappoints.“
“Best coffee in the city -- truly perfect every time! It is a tiny space so unless you time it right you probably won't be able to sit. Not a good study/hangout location but great for a coffee on the go. Truly cannot recommend it enough! All the coffee snobs I know adore this place!“
“This is one of my favorite places to get work done near Penn/Drexel’s campus. The atmosphere is great, with a mix of sunlight and greenery as well as areas that are more removed for a less distracting environment. Would definitely reccomend the food, as well. Especially an egg white and cheese croissant!“
“Absolute best bakery in Philly. Local gem run by the coolest/sweetest couple. Best bagels in the city and you can’t go wrong with anything else. Creative dairy and vegan options including the best croissants I’ve had outside of France. Get in line early if you want the goods!Vegetarian options: Amazing vegan selectionWheelchair accessibility: Accessible“
“Charming brunch spot nestled in a corner in Old City. I’d be a regular if I lived locally. Very similar to something you’d find in Alphabet City, NYC. Staff is nice and food was super fresh and flavorful, beautiful and mouth watering presentation. Rating 4 only because no non-dairy options and I was dying for coffee, and my daughter didn’t get her French toast until 4 of our party of 6 were already finished with our meals. Ordered 2 veg omelets, lox Benny, chocolate chip pancakes, blueberry pancakes, and French toast. Sorry no pics of the pancakes. Kids were too hungry. The egg dishes came out first, then the pancakes, with the French toast maybe 15-20 min later. Just need a little more attentive waitstaff but aside from that, great place to eat once you’re served!“
“Incredible service! They're super accommodating with my dairy allergy and made an incredible vegan latte. My boyfriend got the croissant and egg sandwich and said it was perfectly crispy and the eggs and sausage were fresh. Highly recommend!“
“I’ve gone in twice for birthday cakes. I’m horribly last-minute, but luckily they always have already-made birthday cakes for sale which are DELICIOUS. They’re super flavorful without being too much, and they’re beautiful to look at. Plus they can write a message on the cake very quickly. I’m a fan!“
“I had the early gray milk tea with pearl boba and milk foam. It was amazing and they even put it in my reusable 16oz coffee cup!The place is so clean and the gentleman behind the counter was super helpful. I will for sure be back to try other flavors.“
“This place gives me nostalgia. There’s something about it that reminds me of being in Burlington Vermont coupled with the laidback apathetic individuality of living through 90s grunge era and listening to Elliott Smith and Neutral Milk Hotel. The interior aesthetic isn’t try hard (they showcase local art on the walls and theres a less-is-more vibe), but theres still a cozy sip-slow-and-linger feel. What sets it apart from other places for me is the muted warmth from the people who work there. The kind where you know if you become a regular you’ll get a half smile and they might remember your name, really adds to the overall charm. And even if this place had none of that going for it, the breakfast sandwiches alone are worth a 30-minute walk. Not only are they only like 6 bucks, but they are delicious. The eggs are incredibly well-seasoned, fluffy, and scrumptious. They also have unique lattes, like Cinnamon Toast Crunch (it actually tastes like it) and their matchas are spot on.Even though there’s at least a dozen coffee shops much closer to us, this is our go-to.“
“We loved the casual, unpretentious vibe and great music, with a diverse crowd enjoying dinner on a recent Wed. evening. Our server recommended several things based on what we told her and they were 100% on the money. It's great to find creatively prepared dishes that don't sacrifice taste. Get the brick chicken to share!“
“Beautiful little spot for a cup of coffee and tasy treats in bustling center city west. Fantastic art. They also have roasted coffee. Unfortunately, this location has a large step up to get in, getting inside is not easily accessible for people with mobility challenges.“
“Delightful visit to this bakery! The mocha cake was heavenly—moist, rich in flavor, and with the perfect balance of coffee and chocolate. Paired with their freshly brewed coffee, it was an absolute treat. Cozy ambiance and friendly staff added to the wonderful experience. A must-try spot for anyone looking for quality cakes and coffee. Highly recommend!“
“For my wife's and my wedding anniversary dinner, we ordered around 100 individual cakes from A La Mousse for our guests. We ordered mango mousses, papa bear cakes, and tiramisus. We all loved them!! We received so many positive reviews for the cakes, especially the mango mousse. The cakes were the perfect size also, presented beautifully, and all in all we thought added a really special touch to our celebration.Lynn and her staff at the South Street location are super friendly, helpful and were great to work with in the preparation for this event. This is definitely our go-to cake place in town!“
“Located in the heart of Chinatown, another establishment that doesn't take credit cards. Instead payment is via Venmo. So I guess that great since you don't need to pay tax. They have a limited selection of baked goods (see photos) and drinks. Menu is a bit chaotic to read (but this is Chinatown). Baked items are very fresh. Limited seating inside though. Prices are cheap for this economy.“
“This has been my go-to bakery since I lived in Philly! Always a great selection & variety of items with the ability to try something different each time you visit. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious and will keep coming back! Also some great gluten-free and vegan options there as well.“
“I googled a coffee place. I found this 2 blocks from my nieces apartment. I had my elderly parents with me. They complain everywhere we go. My mom loved the crossiant, arugula, turkey, bacon. My dad loved his ham and cheese croissant. I had an ice cafe latte with almond milk. The only negative for me is I wish they had something healthy like oats or granola for me to munch on.“
“There were no tables available when we got there in the afternoon so we ordered takeout. We split a Philly cheesesteak and a kale salad. Both were delicious but would have liked more cheese on the cheesesteak. I can't wait to try the breakfast there and actually sit down at a table, as the atmosphere is so cozy and sweet.“
“A pastry shop, a beacon of delight,Where morning treats turn dawn into bright. Two souls, prompt and kind,In every task aligned,Make breakfast fare a memorable sight.Croissants cradle eggs and prosciutto alike,A harmony of flavors that make us psyche.Coffee rich, price fair,In this haven rare,Perfection this place does strike.“
“A neighborhood staple, and a great example of how a cultural melting pot like South Philly offers a cross sample of delicious food from different parts of the world. Neighborhood family-owned and operated. The sausage egg and cheese croissant and fruit pastries are a “
“Very nice hidden gem for a coffee or tea stop. The coffee was great. To be honest the tea was ok. So if I may give the very nice owners a suggestion; choose for very good teas like Damman or Rishi (e.g.). Then also for tea drinkers (or mixed couple as we) they will be even more worth wile to go. And btw; one teabag is probably enough. They also have some pastries, pancakes and panini. Very nice interior with lovely background music. I believe they started not long ago so we wish them good business“
“Service is both friendly and kind. We ordered an oat latte and an almond milk flat white to stay. We wanted to get pastries but at the time they had none left. I guess they make them little by little throughout the day because they told us more would be ready in twenty minutes or so. The presentation and execution is lovely. And I love the minimalist aesthetic. And there were several outlets available throughout the cafe for patrons doing some work. Plus points for a spacious and clean bathroom!“
“This place is an absolute gem. This bistro is family operated and we felt like family being there. Their daughter Holly even made a point to come over and introduce herself to our baby daughter. It was so hard to make a decision on what we wanted to eat due to everything sounding so wonderful. We went with “the rooster” and “the hot and honey” and with the baked brie. These were all a hit! Will be recommending Wood and Thyme to all family and friends.“
“OMG, I just discovered this little spot tucked away in an office block. Absolutely the freshest food. I had a smoothie, amazing veggie panini and the soup of the day which was chicken noodle. The ladies are lovely and service is top notch. All good and will be back when the opportunity “
“Good coffee and the baristas seem nice and approachable. Not a cafe I would hang out in, but I prefer that it's an easy and friendly grab and go spot. Lots of good drinks and snacks to come back and try. And it's not too expensive which is appreciated. Don't forget to tip too! :)“
“Just moved to the neighborhood. We moved here because we wanted to be able to walk to places like Coffee Cream & Dreams, and I’m delighted that everything about it is so good. Big fan of the cold brew, donuts, and croissants. The service is fast and friendly too. We’ll be back often.“
“Twisted Grounds has become our ultimate neighborhood hot stop – my partner and I can't get enough! Their peppermint mocha is hands down the best, and paired with their incredible pastries (seriously, that cinnamon roll!), it's a match made in heaven. Plus, our dog, Reese is a huge fan of their pup cups, and knowing that all proceeds go to Paws makes it even sweeter. Definitely worth checking out!Vegetarian options: Vegan pastries and alternative milk options“
“I came here for the first time after an otherwise hectic morning and had such a delightful experience. The coffee and quinoa bowl were delicious and I am obsessed with their HUSKEE drinkware, which is made from recycled coffee husks. Everything about this cafe—from the general vibe to the customer service to the art—makes me want to return, and I look forward to my next visit :).“
“My partner booked Le Cat Cafe for my birthday and it was AWESOME! The staff is super sweet and knowledgeable, able to answer all your questions about the kitties, and helped my partner set up the food and beverage we brought in. There are SO MANY ADORABLE CATS, and I was able to play with/pet/admire all the sweeties. Highly recommend visiting, as they do very important work, between finding kitties their forever homes to TNR work.“
“Coming to leave a review because I mistakenly left and forgot to tip! I stopped by while getting an oil change and had my pup with me - couldn’t bring him inside so they kindly took my order and brought it out to me. Such a lovely environment and good coffee- thanks again!“
“For true coffee snobs this is the real deal. They care about the coffee, and take the time to make it right. The cortado was the right balance of creaminess and smooth, and on the bright side with lots of citrus for those who like that in a roast. My friends had a latte, and a strawberry matcha oatmilk latte, all reportedly delicious. Note that if you like a darker, more chocolatey roast this might not be the place for you.“
“The best place to have some coffee in the center city, continently located!Service is always great and friendly. There are long lines during rush hours, so plan ahead. It can be super crowded during lunch time as well. Try their strawberry matcha latte (iced or hot) - that’s my favorite there.“
“We checked out the Ground Up Cafe & Coffee shop last week in South Philly. This a great little coffee shop on East Passyunk. The decor was simple and fun with just a hint of an European vibe. Bistro seating was available inside and outside. It was very comfortable overall. The menu offered many choices from prepared sandwiches to baked goods. I wasn’t planning on eating, but then I saw scones - I had to try one. Cranberry - and it was delicious! The coffee was also very good (definitely made note of that for the next time I am in the neighborhood). The barista was also very pleasant. This is a great café to try while out and about shopping on East Passyunk. I’ll be back!#trustkj“
“Clean minimal shop with quality matcha products and great ice cream.Strawberry and earl grey swirl are my current go to after dinner in Chinatown, however it is a seasonal flavor so get it while you can. I’ve also had the hojicha float which was refreshing and had a deep roasted nutty flavor with an edge of bitterness. What I enjoy most about this place is the typical Asian compliment when it comes to dessert “not so sweet”.Surreal is quite trendy but I find myself becoming quickly tired of it due to amount, all the toppings, and just the overall sweetness of the ice cream whereas matcha Maiko has the perfect amount of sweetness to remind you it’s a treat but not to the point where halfway through you feel like need water or tea to tone down the sugar“
“Went here for the first time, hearing it has some of the best dim sum in the city. I can’t speak on other places as much but I loved every single dish we got. The pork buns and soup dumplings are definitely a must have, even their scallion pancakes were flavorful and a hit. The beef and curry fried dumplings were also wonderful. Be careful not to order too much because the portions are huge but you can continue to order if you need more! Everything was filling, we spent about $80 with three people, so very affordable! There’s only one server and she moves very quickly and efficiently so make sure you’re ready to order with your paper and don’t hold her up! Would definitely come back for dim sum!“
“really cute bubble tea/coffee establishment! i have always heard of this place but never got to check it out until recently and it's becoming one of my favorite shops. i tried the white coffee with coffee jelly and it's amazing. it definitely has a strong coffee flavor (i think vietnamese coffee), so if you're in need of a caffeine boost, i recommend coming here. i originally wanted to try the egg coffee, but they told me they didn't have it. i tried checking their online ordering system for a couple days and it seems like they haven't had it in a while. i've been enjoying egg coffee a lot recently from other places and i was a bit disappointed that they didn't have it, but i hope it comes back soon! the atmosphere is also very chill if you want to do some work or hang out with friends. overall, i recommend it and would come back soon.“
“My absolute favorite cafe in the neighborhood. They have the best tasting lattes and always have a new and inventive monthly special. My husband and I always look forward to the 1st of the month when they post their newest creation on Instagram! A huge plus is they have incredibly friendly staff.“
“I revisit Joy Cafe (which is the newest name/incarnation for Soy Cafe) whenever I'm in NoLibs. It always leaves me feeling incredibly healthy and happy. Soy/Joy Cafe is in my top two vegan restaurants in all of Philly. My favorite dish here is the ramen with BBQ seitan. The seitan is just so very tasty. Everything here, from the seitan, to the vegan cream cheese, is homemade. My husband gets the carrot lox sandwich which includes the housemade cream cheeze along with red onions, carrot lox, and more, on many choices of really excellent bread. Don't leave without getting a smoothie! I tend to get the Green Giant, but the Coco Loco is also really yummy. Eat in the back garden on a nice day!“
“Stopped in after a doctor's appointment to grab some breakfast. It's easy to walk by the place and not realize it's there. The service was slow but friendly. They have a really nice seating area upstairs. Lots of sun and artwork. I had a toffee nut latte which was disappointing. The espresso was burned and the latte didn't have much flavor. The bagel sandwich on the otherhand was delicious! A nice soft everything bagel with real egg and sausage. Very tasty. I will probably try it again at some point to give the coffee another shot.“
“vegan banh mi with braised jackfruit & kimchi was chef’s kiss! my mouth was watering from the aromatics as I waited for my order. really delicious take on traditional vietnamese yet still brought me back to my momma’s kitchen. cafe space was eclectic and very much what I expect from a coffee shop in old city with its cool art & decor. a must stop if your in the area!“
“Lovely little neighborhood coffee spot. Delicious coffee, great service, cute atmosphere....and it always smells *amazing*!I can't speak to the bakery section due to a gluten allergy, but my friends who have eaten here say the food is really good!“
“I work right down the street from Top Hat and when I'm craving a crafted beverage: its SUCH a good choice. It recently had a Vanilla Nitro Cold Brew on special that was just the perfect blend of sweetness, smooth Nitro, and crispness. I would drink iced coffee any day of the week, and I would drink this one in particular every day. I've had the ballsy goat waffle on other trips and its the perfect blend of sweet and savory: balsamic reduction, goat cheese, strawberries: it sounds unusual but its honestly just the right balance. I really want to try more of their items. I will note: they are not cheap. But I think the quality and attention to detail is worth it.“
“Absolutely amazing experience! The matcha latte was honestly the best quality I have ever tasted! All the food we ordered wasn't too sweet, and the matcha flavor itself was delicious! I was wary of a matcha overload, but it was perfect. The atmosphere is adorable too, and the matcha was in a cute green cup. I admire how even the ice cream cone wasn't the generic too-sweet cone. My kid brother loved the stuffed animals, and we will definitely come back!! ?“
“I attended a charity dinner at Winkle and the food was delicious. Came to table fresh and hot and I got a lovely piece of fish. Carrot cake was great. We enjoyed the atmosphere and servers were efficient and friendly. Will go back for sure.“
“I got two large and two small cannolis. One each were tiramisu and one each were traditional they were pretty good. The tiramisu was very very strong, but very delicious. I’ll definitely be back. The only thing is the prices were a little steep. Still really good and the staff are super friendly.“
“The service is alright, and the ambiance is niceI love the Iced Chocolate Hazelnut LatteParking: Free street parking is available in front of and across the street from Trouble Brewing Coffee House, and it looked like there was a small parking lot behind the coffee shop“
