The food is always consistently great, except for the one time one dish was a little overcooked and the bartender/wait staff surreptitiously removed it from our bill when my date and I had only a softly spoken conversation with each other about it (great service). “Ordered the paella, the grilled gambas special, and the lamb shank. All very good, expertly done, with touches that elevated the cuisine. Sauces and mole very good, taken seriously, obviously made with care in-house. Worth a trip, but since I live a few blocks away, it’s no burden at all. The pistachio tres leches cake also a winner. “I randomly stumbled on this location after a quick Google search of "best cocktail bars/lounges in Hoboken." I was not disappointed, the location it self is right at a corner and cannot be missed. Parking is tricky as it is fairly residential but there is a nearby parking garage. Upon arrival I was greeted by the most sweet, attentive, and professional hostess that guided me to my seat and made conversation. In the background there was live music. A guitarist was serenading the atmosphere with his lovely voice and music selection. I sat at the bar and was immediately checked on by the bartender who went down the line of what my taste profile was, favorite type of spirit, and made a recommendation based on Gin and it was delicious. Ended up ordering two. Then she made further recommendations which all hit the mark. Although I did not eat, the people next to me ordered food that looked quite appetizing. Being in NY and commuting to NJ for this bar was the best decision I made that night and I will be back. This place is great for vibes, date night, dinner, or a quick pre-game. Pro Tip: ask them why the bar is called Olivia's. #illbeback“

“A very cute place to have Sunday brunch! My first meal after the Jersey City marathon was right here! We weren't able to put in a reservation beforehand, but we were still able to get seated when we arrived close to noon. I had the sweet potato & andouille sausage hash withOUT the sausage. The server said he could add more brussels sprouts since someone else had requested the same before, and I agreed to it (though I wasn't too hungry and didn't care either way). My meal had a beautiful presentation. The eggs were perfectly poached and there was just enough hollandaise sauce. The brussels sprouts however just seemed undercooked flavor-wise and more could have been done to better their quality. Needless to say, I finished my plate except for the brussels sprouts. All-in-all, a great cafe in an excellent location of Jersey City---well worth the visit!“

“Really good food and atmosphere. Watch out for the automatic tip on the receipt. They didn't include it on Thursday but did on Friday. Usually I tip 20% but when places automatically add 18%, I don't tip extra when places auto tip. They also included a tip line even tho they added an auto tip lol, not falling for that trick.“

“Saravá has become a favorite date night spot for my boyfriend and I. We've been coming here regularly for the last couple of years, and they never cease to amaze us. They have magnificent seasonal menus and tasty holiday menus in addition to their signature meals. No matter the option, the food is always top-teir and made with deliciously fresh ingredients. The service is incredible as well. We're always greeted with a smile. I’m not much or a drinker, Bourbon and Whiskey at that. However, I was here celebrating my dear friend 43rd Birthday and I said “Why Not” and boy was I glad I did. I had the “Hibiscus Lemonade” and “Year Five 2.0”. The first drink was great, but that second one “Chef’s Kiss”. But what made my experience grand was the customer service. The team were so pleasant and fun to be around. Thank you Silk City for an amazing time.“

“A fun place to visit with friends or a date night. They decorated the place for Valentine's Day and even folded the napkins into hearts. The first time I came was for the drinks so we just sat at the bar and ordered chips and guac. It was really good so we came back months later to try their actual food. The steak on the stone was cool because you got to cook it exactly to your liking. The plantains were good. I wasn't a huge fan of the green salsa, as it was bland. I would have just stuck to the original. For the dessert we tried the churros, dulce de leches and the brownie and ice cream. The brownie is a very very small portion but it is also rich and decadant. I would probably recommend putting it on a smaller plate presentation wise. I think I liked the churros the best which had two dipping sauces. Drinks were fun and delicious too.“

“We tried a few items. To start we got the mushroom arancini which was really delicious and crunchy. There was a cheesy cream at the bottom of the bowl that was room temp but very delicious. We got the meatball which was amazing and the bread dipped in the sauce was so good. I was really excited to get the mussels but they were really unimpressive. Not so much flavor and not a lot of broth. The bread that came with it was great. We also got the charred Caesar salad. The dressing was really thick. Almost a hummus consistency and was on the bottom of the plate. The salad was very watery but still interesting. The table next to us got the arugula salad which was beautifully presented. For entrees we got the rigatoni which was missing something. It looked like an ideal pasta but was missing salt or spice. We also got the short rib which was highly recommended. Overall I would come back here to try some other items like the salads, sides and Mac and cheese. I'm taking off a star for the mussels. I'm also taking off a star because there was a really bad smell in the restaurant. It was a mix of seafood and sewage. I don't know if it was the bathroom and kitchen smells but either way it was foul. It was kind covered up at times by a slight fragrance but still disgusting.“

“The menu is a sweet merry-go-round that licks my brain like a dish in ratatouille. This past time I indulged with The collard green melt. Think about a vegetarian Ruben without pastrami but instead an earthy perfect collard, a pepper spiced Russian dressing oozing out the sides because of my vigorous bites, and a marble rye time capsule of perfection. I licked my nubs and used the fries for plate cleaning. But... I digress. The menu always changes but it never fails. There are a couple of these brilliant finds on every new iteration. Surround all that with nice bartenders that exude the word craft, some swell bluegrass on hump day, and the aer of 1970s Missoula. it's always a jersey city staple.“

I highly recommend the jackfruit croquettes and the sliders which I love that they have vegan options for someone like me. I'm not sure of the name it was a passionfruit cosmo type drink and I didn't even realize it came out with a dry ice bubble. 10/10 for presentation on everything and ambiance. They have a dining area which feels a little more formal ( the chairs were so comfy by the way) and then a bar area with high tops which I think would be great for a girls night. We ordered blue crab beignets for the table. These delicious little bites were a nice starter. A nice drink menu offered a bunch of different old fashioneds.
