“I'm writing to share a story about honesty of staff here. I was gonna order hot milk tea from the menu. Then, the staff honestly suggested that I didn't need to order that since they have tea and milk for self service. So, I tried matcha+strawberry instead. It turned out to be good. 50% sweet is really 50%. I like it.“

The service is wonderful, the gentleman at the register always remembers our usual order and greets us with a smile. “There is absolutely no reason to go over the Hudson for one of those fancy, overpriced omakase experiences. Butterfish in Rutherford was a 15 out of 10.
JoJo took hospitality to another level, making our entire family feel so special... especially my daughter on her birthday.
And the food? Course after course, it just kept getting better. The name Butterfish couldn't be more fitting because every bite was so fresh it literally melted in your mouth!!

“Ordered via GrubHub for a late Friday night dinner when the sushi craving hit. I ordered a tuna bowl, and hubby had a salmon bowl. All of the sushi bar bowls come with edamame, miso soup, seaweed salad, kani salad, regular salad (in this case, it was arugula), and avocado. The fish came in huge chunks, lightly marinaded, and tasted fresh. No complaints. I’d order again and try some actual rolls next time. I saw on their menu a pretty good deal for lunch - $12.50 for three regular rolls, so I’ll have to check that out.“

“Sushi and food is pretty good overall but the service at this place is really hit or miss. There are two (I believe) revolving servers/people who answer the phone. The younger server is very polite and friendly. However the other is incredibly rude, on the phone, and in person. I ordered from this place very often in the past but I will no longer be ordering from here. His attitude makes it not worth it for me. Overall if you’re just looking for good sushi this place is fine, but don’t expect good service.“

“So good!! I went in with my boyfriend around 9:30 and got the chicken katsu curry. The food was so delicious and came out fast. The lady who served us was so nice and helpful! She didn’t rush us at all we will definitely be back :) and the music is very nice“

“Since they opened, they have been consistently excellent. I truly hope they're around for many years to come. I've eaten here at least 20–30 times, and the sushi is always fresh. The rolls are well made, with just the right balance of ingredients, not overloaded with rice like you find at some other sushi restaurants.

I've tried the spicy tuna roll, salmon roll, avocado roll, and the ramen, and they have yet to disappoint. I'm wishing them continued success because they've earned it.

I gave them three stars for the atmosphere only because of the bright, white lighting. It reminds me of the lights in a dentist's office. While the restaurant is clean and inviting, I personally prefer warmer lighting to create a cozier dining experience.

One more thing really stood out to me. One evening I called to place an order, but no one answered. I called a second time and assumed they must be closed. About two minutes later, they called me back! 😀 Thanks to that, I got to enjoy sushi that night.

“We've been meaning to to try so many of the new restaurants in the area. We finally got here for a late lunch today. Not surprisingly on a Thursday at 2PM and snowing, we had the place to ourselves. It was fortunate because the woman who took care of us explained everything to us in detail. I wasn't familiar with the Kurobuta pork. Apparently it's known as the, "Kobe beef of pork." All their pork come from Berkshire pigs. They come from a farm in Jersey. I'm guessing North Jersey. (Lot's of cool info if you Google them) Cooking is done using White charcoal which is used in traditional Japanese cooking. We started with the crispy cauliflower. It had crispy shallots & tahini vinegarette on them. They were delicious! Then the Shanghai bao. Filling was pork. (naturally) So delicious and juicy! When you slice them in half watch for the juice to squirt! We ordered six skewers. Two with pork jowel (cheek) Two regular pork and two fish. Again, delicious. i also had a bowl of spicy miso ramen. Our server explained how the broth is simmered for eight hours with pig bones and marrow. I could tell as the broth was very rich! That was it for us. We were both very full and i even took half of my ramen. We can't wait to return and bring friends! Highly recommend! ✌️“

“Have been wanting to try this spot for a long time and it didn’t disappoint. The meat was seasoned well, moist and smoky. Don’t sleep on the eggplant skewer and the grilled rice ball though. The rice ball was slightly crispy on the outside, but kinda fluffy on the inside. Each grain of rice was plump, very well cooked. The chef and owner was attentive and I could tell he set a high standard for himself. What a treat on the weekend!“

“This is our local go-to for sushi and hibachi. The food is excellent, staff is friendly and efficient. We mostly order to go, but the restaurant itself is small but cozy with tables and a sushi bar. I'll also add that, in 7 years of ordering from them, they have not gotten a single item on any order wrong. Definitely worth trying.“

“I ordered the two-roll sushi combo with a California roll and a salmon avocado roll, and both were incredibly fresh and delicious. I also got the green salad with ginger dressing, which tasted so fresh and flavorful. The shrimp shumai were honestly addictive. They also included veggie gyoza and miso soup on the house, and both were delicious as well. Everything tasted fresh and well made, and I will definitely be returning to Kame Sushi.“

“I love coming to Wasai Bistro whenever I’m visiting the east coast. I’ve followed Chef Nelson since his days at Aozora and Wabi Sabi. His food quality, menu options, and value are unmatched in the area. Once you try his food you will understand why he has so many repeat diners. I highly recommend the Mes Reves Roll, Uni and bone marrow ramen, Miso glazed sea bass entree and salmon lover entree but it’s very hard to go wrong with anything Chef Nelson serves. Parking is street parking only but honestly I’ve always had a very easy time finding a spot. BYOB so you can drink what you love.“

“I've only gotten rangoons from here, and it's the best crab rangoon in the neighborhood. The crab is visibly present and you can taste it. The wrapper is also thin and crispy. I can only assume they make the rangoons themselves, which is a good sign of the care they put into their other dishes. Every other restaurant gets pre-made rangoons because they are all the same joyless cheese packets with overly thick dough and no flavor. If you, like me, crave the rangoon...make sure to give theirs a try.“

“food was amazing. served at relatively quick speed. apps usually come in pairs, so if you're a party of three, don't expect three pieces (just two). sushi/specialty rolls came in 5-8 as it's listed in the menu. soy rolls they add a dollar though per roll (or sushi, i forgot), be careful. they do have a waste policy on their sign, i forgot what it was. i had some soup spilled on me as they attempted to serve it, and they didn't always notice our papers were done already, but not end of the world stuff. the food taste made up for it! it's about mid $30s on a saturday buffet in the late afternoon/early evening. bill is paid by those electronic machines they bring to your face at your table. bathroom is upstairs. water is served in paper cups. i saw another group and ourself seemed to have to manually ask for water refills otherwise. ice cream options at the day were just green tea and strawberry (which wasn't even listed in the menu) but i loved the strawberry. i would come back here.“

“Called and ordered chicken hibachi, which comes with a free soda and had a ~15 min wait as they cook it fresh. The food is tasty, especially the chicken but the fried rice seemed like it was drenched it teriyaki sauce which made it kinda salty and over bearing. My suggestion to the cook would be to put less or omit it and put it on the side or something. Ill come back to try again and ask them to do that and update my review.“

“Literally best sushi place ever!! We walked in and were immediately shocked by the beautiful atmosphere and lights. We were greeted warnmly, and ordered a few minutes later. Our food arrived less than 10 minutes later. Everything was so delicious and we had a great time. 10/10, will definitely be back here.“

“Had a girls night here and was so excited to try it out after hearing nothing but great reviews and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The number one item you MUST try is the sticky ribs. We initially didn’t order it but our server Bradley said it was a must, and it was truly our favorite of the night. We did a ton of sushi from the nigiri platter to the lobster temaki & the toro tartar, and the Surf n Turf roll they torched at the table. Everything was so delicious and fresh, the atmosphere and presentation was 10/10 as well. Can’t wait to come back and try everything else!“

“I have been to Poke Cafe many times and have had only great experiences. At this point, I have tried quite a bit here! The food and drinks are delicious and it's clear that fresh, high quality ingredients are used. The menu has a variety to choose from. The owners are very polite, accommodating, and welcoming. The cafe also has a very nice atmosphere should you choose to dine in - it is kept clean and neat, and is very cutely decorated.“
