“My wife and I are on the #eatjersey challenge to visit and have a meal in all 564 towns of NJ. We chose Tavern on the Lake for Hightstown, our 150th town.

Great eats and comfort food in a place that is at the center of the town. They have a fantastic beer selection on draft that rotates over time. For the fall season, we had a Hot Toddy and Spiked Cider. The French dip sandwich and crab cakes were great.

When there's warmer weather, they have a great outdoor patio too!“

“Anthony’s Chicken & Grill has amazing cheesesteaks and their cheeseburgers are great too! The restaurant is always clean and the staff friendly and helpful“

“This place has really gone down hill. I think the reason they keep it open is because it’s right across from the movie theater and they have a captive audience. Most of the time, you can walk right in and sit, but the good times end there. Usually, they take forever with orders, the food comes out wrong or has been sitting in the window for 10 minutes and comes out like something from Wawa’s hot and ready food by the checkout. The waiters typically look like they’re running around blindfolded serving 20 tables on their own even though nobody is there. The drinks are yummy like Willy Wonka Made them, and I like the brownies and Jack Daniel’s chicken even if they don’t call it Jack Daniel’s anymore. At least they serve food late unlike the tavern downtown. Five stars.“

“I would highly recommend Winberie's! my husband and I went for the first time today to have some lunch. The Executive Chef, Steve Fitch, was so awesome! My husband has a laundry list of food allergies and Steve came out to offer alterations he could make to the menu items to accommodate us. Everyone there was so friendly and the cocktail and food we had was all fresh and delicious. I could have the parmesan tomato soup everyday for the rest of my life and be happy, it was the best I have ever had. Thank you for a great lunch experience, we will definitely be back!“

“My server was awesome and told me that the duck confit flatbread was amazing, and it was. Great lunch spot, or just spot in general. A bit pricey but you can find menu items under 20 pretty easily. Great drinks, too. And free WiFi helps...

“Was checking my out for a possible birthday party location and found the manager and staff to be very helpful and accommodating. The space is ample and the golf course looked great. I'd gone over earlier in the day and arrived as a post-golf tournament banquet was getting underway. If the smell of the food being served was a good indicator. It must be delicious. Will be returning this week to test/taste that theory out!“

“We’ve stayed here annually for 16 years. It’s a pass through for us. One night but friendly and helpful staff good food and we seen the same FD staff for the past 12 years. Even during Covid we stayed, they cared even though the kitchen was closed they advised us where to get take out. It is a comfortable, friendly place to stay.“

(Couldn’t finish the burger cause we over ate, but definitely took that home.) we order the honey soy wings to start they were impeccably crispy and tasted amazing. Our main dishes were the Korean burger with sweet potato fries & the gochujang pasta. Wasn’t sure what to really expect from them but I’m glad I took the risk because it was probably the best meal I had all week haha. Our friend order some type of beef short rib dish on bed of mashed potatoes I believe that I tried and it was very decadent and if that’s your thing then you won’t be disappointed. To finish we ordered some boba teas to go and that was the perfect cherry on top to our meal. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. It was really refreshing to find a restaurant that was so consistent from the waiting staff to the final product. Thanks for giving us a lovely night. (Side note: It’s BYOB)“

“We went to dine with this rag tag restaurant and the experience was awful. The waitress had no teeth and asked my son for his? At first we thought “hey maybe they are joking” then all of a sudden. They lady grabbed his front bicuspid. Needless to say - at that point we were concerned. Because we had a long day we were still hungry. So we stuck around. The next thing you know. The toothless individual brought another toothless friend and tried to get my tooth as well. At that point. We know. Time to get out of here. We were cooked. Unlike the food at this gross place.“

“I had a great experience at Iron & Ivy! I loveeeee going to hotel restaurants! I feel like I'm on a sense of vacation even though I'm not staying over! When you walk into Iron & Ivy, you're greeted by a beautiful fireplace and bright, stocked bar! The hostess was so sweet and recommended amazing menu options! We started off with the quesadillas and the bourbon bbq wings! When I tell you, the quesadillas were top 5 all time, they are TOP 5! They didn't fall apart and were toasted to perfection as well as loaded with shrimp and cheese and beans and corn! It was PHENOMENAL! For dinner we ordered the Grilled Flat Iron Steak and the Spinach & Roasted Garlic Tortellini! The veggies were so delicious and it was a huge portion that I was able to bring home for lunch the next day! For drinks, you couldn't go wrong with the dirty martini, the very berry martini and the Soccer Mom Lemonade! It was a great night overall and they have a huge inside / outside dining area! Highly recommend checking out Iron & Ivy and make sure you order the quesadillas because they are LIFE CHANGING!“

“Celebrating 3 birthdays at Roots Ocean Prime with 8 people. Everyone loved their entrees (steaks ) which were cooked perfectly. Sides were tasty and enjoyed by everyone. Great wine list. Appreciated the wine recommendation by our server. Our server, Rachel, was excellent. The birthday desserts were the hit of the dinner! “Dootsie's Kitchen is a true soul food gem!

I had the whiting with collard greens and cabbage, plus two more whiting with fries—and let me tell you, everything was absolutely delicious! The fish was perfectly seasoned and fried just right, and the sides had that real home-cooked flavor you can’t fake. The collards and cabbage were tender and flavorful, like something straight out of Grandma’s kitchen.

“Haven't set foot inside Docks since 2004 for no other reason than it's a little out of the way from home and I'm not much of a drinker. I've been working in the area again for about a year and wanted to find a local spot to go with some coworkers and figured since it was close, why not try Docks. I happened across a picture of one of their burgers and had to try one since having my gallbladder removed and being able to once again enjoy the occasional bacon cheeseburger. Stopped there tonight with a coworker, got the Houston Burger and let me tell you... it was incredible. Burger was well seasoned and juicy (even though I always order well done) and the bacon was top quality. The prices were fantastic and my coworker said they had one of the best Guinness draughts he's had in a long time. Definitely see it turning into a to-do after work more often.“

“We got seated quickly, our waitress was friendly and gave us good service. The food was good. We had the turkey dinner The lunch special. which was very filling. The only complaint that I had is that it's $4 for a small cup of coffee. where you can get a large cup of coffee for either free or $3 at QuickCheck. The coffee was the same quality. And why is tea always more expensive than coffee. It's $4 for a small cup of tea.“

“I think this place is pretty decent overall. It's a solid spot for decently priced bagels, flavors pretty good but I wouldn't say it's the best. If you live nearby or in the area it's a solid choice and I don't think you'll be disappointed but it's nothing to write home about. I did try the loaded pork roll burger since it was made famous by Guy Fieri, and I appreciate him putting local spots like this on the map but its pretty overrated and not that great. Burger itself is pretty mid but the pork roll and bagel is good, I'd say pork roll burger is a 6/10, and the bagels are 8/10. The Reuben is surprisingly pretty good though.“
