“First, I need to preface this was a Thanksgiving dinner. It is almost always the case that holiday dinners (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve etc) there is a usual penalty the diner takes in quality and elevated price. It is not a criticism of Empire Steak House, just how things work in the industry to set the context.\n\nWith that stated and considered, the overall meal was better than I expected. My only real criticism regarding the food was the pumpkin soup was a little thin. \n\nWe each had filet mignon. They were well prepared and of good quantity and quality. Staff were accommodating and friendly. We even received a little complimentary port after dessert, which was a nice gesture. \n\nWe had the set Thanksgiving menu which gave you multiple choices for starter, principal plate, and dessert. We had the pumpkin soup and calamari to start (see prior comments on the soup. The fried calamari was fine). We both found the vegetables well prepared that went with our steaks. For dessert, the pumpkin pie was tasty and well portioned along with the sorbet.\n\nIn addition to the above food, we had three glasses of wine. The total price with tax and 20% tip was $365. All in all this was a good value. We may return. Even though we generally don't go out for steak very often, this may be a safer bet in the theater district since the ingredients at Empire Steak House seem to be of good quality and charming service.“

“Wow! What a nite! Absolutely unbelievable! As soon as we walked in, the vibe was electric. The workers all acknowledged us and said hello as we walked to our table. The service is impeccable. Armin, our server, was beyond friendly and yet very polished and knowledgeable. The porterhouse for 2 was delectable! Perfectly cooked and unbelievably tasteful. The entire experience was out of this world. We were truly treated as family. Thank you very much for a wonderful time!“

“Took a friend for a birthday lunch today. The table was nicely decorated with some birthday confetti and there was a lovely birthday card for him. Lunch was excellent from the butternut squash soup and Caesar salad apps to our NY strip steaks and sides. They added a sweet ending with a dessert that said Happy Birthday. Thank you so much!“

“We ordered the porterhouse. Perfect for two people. The meat melts in your mouth and fries are perfect! The steak came out so fast, we thought they’d made a mistake.
Chocolate soufflé was so light and fluffy and not overly sweet.

My mom and 2 children decided to dine here this past Tuesday after searching up about 20 kosher restaurants nearby. We live over 2 hours away but knew we needed to eat good before the long drive back home. Listen… don’t walk, but RUN to this place! I ordered the Tomahawk steak and it came out perfectly. The accompanying chicken dishes (chicken wing poppers, buffalo chicken poppers and chicken and waffles) were superb! You’d think I was a celebrity with how they made sure I left happy. “Kochi and Mari are two of my fave restaurants so I had very high expectations coming to Gui for the first time and it did not disappoint! We took the recommendations of our lovely waiter, Tshepo, and we were so glad we did! I started off with the Guava 2.0 cocktail. It was so delicious and the perfect balance of liquor and sweetness. My husband had a martini, made table side. Tshepo asked my daughter if she preferred apple or pineapple and came back with the most delicious apple mocktail— my daughter would go on to order 2 more. Tshepo recommended the Caesar salad —the lettuce was slightly charred, lots of yummy cheese- and the salmon crudo— I don't know what sauce this was swimming in but it could've been my next cocktail it was so delicious. For the main course we ordered the prime rib — best ever- and the grilled ribeye- cooked perfectly. They came with a medley of sauces and accompaniments that weren't really necessary but fun to try. We had the Brussels sprouts, corn, eggplant katsu, and wagyu fried rice. All had comforting familiar flavors with surprising Korean twists. Finally for dessert, we tried the Paris- Jeju (creamy and fruity), apple cheesecake (rich and comforting), and the prickly pear sorbet (light and refreshing.) Overall, it was a wonderful experience. This will be our go-to for pre/post theater meals. We can't wait to go back and try new things!“
