“Was walking by and saw A&J Caribbean Taste. I just had to go in and see what they had. It was like home! They had a wide range of food and I was so excited I asked for a sample of it all lol. DELICIOUS. Further, it was super generous of the server to accommodate my request. My favorite was the oxtail though all dishes were delicious. If you're missing GOOOOD Caribbean food and want a variety - and not have to wait for food preparation - this is a must visit. Compliments to the chef. This will now be one of my go-to spots whenever I come to my Newark Office.“

Grant it this is my first time eating at this restaurant (at work and needed something to eat and it was across the street) but this cabbage and carrots (has a light sweet-spice) taste like gold. Rice and peas are cooked to purrrrrrfection!!!!!! Lets talk about the Curry Chicken ? “I ate here for the first Time today and coming from New York it was hard to find a great Jamaican restaurant here in Jersey but the food was amazing well seasoned. The establishment was clean the customer service was phenomenal. I felt welcomed from the moment I entered the door. So they prepared a meal with a bit of all!

“I have been eating here for a little under a year and the food has never disappointed me favorite is the curry, goat, rice and peas, cabbage and plantain. However, I have tried the fried chicken red pea soup , jerk, chicken, oxtails, curry chicken, beef patty. Regardless, what you pick you’re gonna find chunks of ginger in it, so be careful as you eat some meals are spicier than others, but all are very flavorful in my opinion. I am hoping in the future to try the salmon option when they have a fish fry in the summer. I personally do not like any Jamaican restaurants, macaroni, and cheese, so I have not tried their version at all, nor have I tried the typical African-American sides like collard greens, candied yams, and so forth. I stick to the typical jamaican options for sides. I see signs for roti too never tried that yet . Rank the atmosphere three out of five because the neighborhood is a bit rough know in the area so be mindful of limitations on parking and people randomly standing on the side walk.“

“They have very good service, the seasoning is very rich, more so in the ribs, in the chickens, fish, seafood, everything you order to be made, I recommend it.

Dietary restrictions: There is no food is very healthy

Parking: There is parking on the street so much in front that there is a parking lot and there is no free parking

Kid-friendliness: I think the place is for everyone.

Wheelchair accessibility: I don't know how to explain that part since I haven't been in that situation but I think they provide very good service.“

Atmosphere is ok. Surrounding area is urban and can be a little on the riske' side. But for the most part the food is worth it.“

“I had the jerk chicken, mashed potatoes with oxtail gravy, cabbage, plantains and a beef patty. The food was delicious with just the right amount of kick, the price was right, and the service was great. That container was so stuffed with good home cooking, that we had more than enough for two plus leftovers for the next day. I will definitely come back next time I’m in the area and will try something new. They had a good variety including an assortment of juices I didn’t even notice til we paid. If I had room for dessert, I would’ve had the rum or the carrot cake. My review....amazing!“
