“Was walking by and saw A&J Caribbean Taste. I just had to go in and see what they had. It was like home! They had a wide range of food and I was so excited I asked for a sample of it all lol. DELICIOUS. Further, it was super generous of the server to accommodate my request. My favorite was the oxtail though all dishes were delicious. If you're missing GOOOOD Caribbean food and want a variety - and not have to wait for food preparation - this is a must visit. Compliments to the chef. This will now be one of my go-to spots whenever I come to my Newark Office.“

Grant it this is my first time eating at this restaurant (at work and needed something to eat and it was across the street) but this cabbage and carrots (has a light sweet-spice) taste like gold. “Traveled all the way from PA to find this Gem. Had their fried snapper, peppershrimp, snapper curry, Chinese fried rice and fruit cake. It was the best I had since I left Guyana. A Guyanese place I would recommend for high quality food. Also bought lots of snacks and groceries. This place is unique. A one stop shop.“

“They have very good service, the seasoning is very rich, more so in the ribs, in the chickens, fish, seafood, everything you order to be made, I recommend it.

Dietary restrictions: There is no food is very healthy

Parking: There is parking on the street so much in front that there is a parking lot and there is no free parking

Kid-friendliness: I think the place is for everyone.

Wheelchair accessibility: I don't know how to explain that part since I haven't been in that situation but I think they provide very good service.“

“I had the jerk chicken, mashed potatoes with oxtail gravy, cabbage, plantains and a beef patty. The food was delicious with just the right amount of kick, the price was right, and the service was great. That container was so stuffed with good home cooking, that we had more than enough for two plus leftovers for the next day. I will definitely come back next time I’m in the area and will try something new. They had a good variety including an assortment of juices I didn’t even notice til we paid. If I had room for dessert, I would’ve had the rum or the carrot cake. My review....amazing!“

“I have been looking for Mac and Cheese in this area for DAYS!!! So many places have disappointed me but this plate actually had SOUL. A medium plate of jerk chicken, rice and collard greens cost me about $18, but you can tell by the long lines that the food is worth it. The pair are patient and friendly. Support your local black owned businesses! 10/10 will have again.“
