“This food is delicious and true to Dominican food! It is incredibly hard to find authentic DR/PR food in Newark area. Customers service is cool, you are greeted properly. They're usually very busy near weekends. I had the pork mofongo, the chicharron with rice and beans. Everything is flavorful and seasoned well. The portions are well rounded and filling. Price point is great. I'll definitely be back to try Empanadas, chicken etc. It's nice to finally get some real Dominican food around here! I ate it so fast I didn't take a flick, maybe next time.“

“I. Adore. This. Place!I will start with complimenting the staff. They were friendly, helpful and even patient when i was ordering on the phone as we both have language barrier.Secondly, the food!!! The food! — we ordered platter of enchilada in salsa verde, tacos of al pastor and carnitas, chicken tamales. Every single dish was amazing: flavorful, portioned with generosity, seasoned just right, cooked just right, packed with care. I went from being excited, to impressed, to happy and back to excited for another bite until everything was finished.I thank you, Mi Ranchito, for such a wholesome experience with Mexican cuisine. We are a big fan of yours!“

“I love coming here! It's super eccentric and there are several unique paintings of the city (made by local artists and are for sale)! The food comes quick, and even when it's super busy there is never a long wait for a table. I have had a few different breakfast and lunch items here, and they never disappoint.“

“Update:We returned last week and we feel that now they served us less food than before,We have been back several times but now we notice that the portions are small, not like before it is more the flag (look at the photo) before they served us on oval plates that were a little bigger. And they no longer gave us avocado like before, now they gave us fried ripe ones.Excellent atention!Good tasting foodThe dry goat that we ordered had burnt meat (deep black) on one side, it seems that because it boiled so much, it stuck to the pot, or something like that.Let's hope this first experience in the place is only due to the fact that they did not move the ingredients in the pots from below, but those meats should not have gone like that.Otherwise, all good!Kid-friendliness: Children's menu, sausages, papipollo, and others,“

Leo's Café & El Guame Restaurant Puerto Rican • $

“Went here for breakfast and we are coming from 35 minutes away just to try their Puerto Rican breakfast and this place did not disappoint what so ever. The food came out fast and hot. We had (which l'II picture) two coffees, oatmeal (avena), ham and cheese sandwich (with the works) and a breakfast platter. This reminded me sooooo much of breakfast from the island. We enjoyed all of it and we will definitely come back out to try lunch & dinner food as well. But we wanted auth pr breakfast and that's exactly what we go. Not many around like this.I wish they would update the restaurant a little bit, it's a bit outdated and it has so much more potential for a nicer ambiance.“
