“We live about an hour away and travel to Harlem every month or so just to eat at dino bbq! The food is always exceptional and the service is great, Maria is our favorite waitress but everyone is very nice. “I went here with my friends on a Friday night around 10, and there was no line, so ordering was very quick, and the worker had prepped most items, so you received your order immediately, and she was very nice. I had the Tequila Sunrise. It was $18 and was very good as far as sorbet goes. There wasn't much liquor to it. You could taste the white wine in the strawberry sorbet a bit, but the mango just tasted like standard mango sorbet. My friends had a scoop of the hazlenut coffee flavor, and it was very good, but not much liquor flavor either. If you're a big liquor person, you might be a bit underwhelmed. Nonetheless, for the amount of sorbet/ice cream you get in the cup, along with the toppings it comes with and the glass, the $18 is fair, in my opinion and I would go back to try other flavors/creations.“

“I work as a merchandiser in the city and I asked a colleague from one of our stores for a pizza recommendation. She told me to check them out and I am so glad I did. It smelled absolutely delicious the minute I walked in and I was thrilled they had meatball pizza by the slice (my favorite ?). Not only was the pizza a hearty sized slice, the meatball is delicious. “Our friends hosted their wedding at Deity this last weekend and if I had one word to sum up the experience, I would say it was magical! The venue itself is absolutely stunning and beautifully unique! There are multiple levels that can host an array of different settings and vibes, which I loved! We started our day on the fourth level in the bridal suite, which was spacious enough for 14 of us to get ready. We then moved on to the fifth level, which is a beautiful rooftop terrace for photos. Moving on to the third floor, we attended the wedding ceremony in a room that had been beautifully decorated to suit the tastes of the bride and groom. This room was flipped over for dinner as we had cocktail hour and hors d'oeuvres on the second level bar area, which was adorned with soft lighting and an intimate seating area. Finally, we moved downstairs to the first level, which was a room with beautiful art deco ceilings, to dance the night away for the reception. Although the venue itself was a gem, what impressed me the most was the staff and service. The food was absolutely delicious, but more than that, they seemed to think of every single detail to make it an unforgettable experience. The owners were personally involved in the process from beginning to end, which made me feel confident in knowing someone had such a personal investment in the event. I’d highly recommend Deity for a wedding or other special social or corporate event.“

“It’s casual but polished casual.$5.25/ Freddo Cappuccino. It was very good. This was the item I was most impressed with at Pi Bakerie, over and above the pastries and baked dishes. If I come back to Pi Bakerie it will be specifically for the Freddo Cappuccino. I could envision myself deliberately making a detour via SoHo for this Freddo Cappuccino. Which is pretty cool that means they have a “destination item” on their menu.I’d be curious to compare with Café Lyria who also make reportedly excellent Greek Freddo Cappuccino (this is like the Italian Schakerato).Also curious to try their Peinirli (“cheese boat”). “I used Just a Nibble for an engagement party at our house in Brooklyn for about 60 people. They EXCEEDED my expectations. Nick was wonderful to work with, flexible and took the stress out of the situation. He sent out a great team of two servers - Alexa and Xander - and a chef, Pablo. They worked hard, were polite and gracias to our guests, and cleaned up well. The appetizers we ordered were delicious and I had leftovers for days. I will definitely use this team again and recommend them highly.“

“After visiting the Museum of Moving Image in Astoria we walked up the block and had a nice lunch at Pig Beach BBQ. My husband and I split the sampler platter which we both enjoyed. My favorite was the pulled pork and my husband’s favorite was the ribs.We were both surprised that it was more of a cafeteria style set up instead of sit down. To me that was probably the only drawback. But it was a very laid back casual atmosphere which a lot of people may find appealing.“

The chicken soup served Friday night was absolutely superb and above expectations when being served from a commercial kitchen! We did a "themed menu" and the chicken, fish, and vegetables were all delicious. So often the vegetable dishes and sides are afterthoughts but the beans and potatoes were scrumptious and perfectly cooked. I appreciated that they brought cards that identified the food items and indicated if the food was vegan, gluten free, etc. (most caterers haven't done that in my experience). The staff who dropped off the food were prompt and friendly. And Kelly, rep from the catering team who assisted me with the order, was helpful and responsive. “This is the only place in the entire city that I would recommend people go to if they want an authentic New York pizza experience. The slices are massive (take-up-an-entire-plate HUGE), the sauce is zippy and flavourful, and the pepperoni is to die for. I would personally recommend a slice of the pepperoni and bacon, or the Sicilian deep dish. The workers are all very nice and service was quick and efficient. They also have a nice selection of cold drinks to get with your pizza. The joint was right across the street from our hotel so it was very convenient for us to grab a couple slices whenever we wanted. The best bonus is that the place is open late, which meant that we were able to get pizza at about 12:30 at night after catching Billy Joel at MSG. Overall, this is a fantastic pizza place and I would highly recommend it.“

“Gottscheer Hall is a fixture of Ridgewood and has been for decades. It does an excellent job at bridging the gap between the old neighborhood and the infusion of the new crowd in a way in which everyone feels welcome. The food is excellent and reasonably priced and their selection of German beer pretty much guarantees something for everyone. The bartenders are also the best in the area, friendly, personable and great to chat with while sipping on a cold one. I've made many memories and friends in that place from all walks of life. “What’s the Kitch? Catered my husband’s 75th birthday party for 24 people in our apartment in Manhattan. From my initial contact right through til the end of the party, I knew this was the caterer for us. Jeffrey and his assistant were extremely professional. I loved his “if you want it, we can make it happen” approach. We had a wonderful selection of light bites that were all outstanding. They were prepared and served (and cleaned up!) right at home, making it a very intimate and fun evening. We were so impressed that we have already booked him for our holiday party in December. “This place is very nice but very small. There is one bathroom for everyone and the lights there are very dim. It looks larger on the pictures than reality. We enjoyed our avocado rolls and dumplings on the patio. It is a very limited menu for food and drinks. The positive is that it is very cute and they have a train caboose that you can also dine in on the street.“
