“This hole in the wall serves tasty Dominican staples: rice & beans, pollo guisado, pernil, they usually also have a few soups on deck. The food is well-seasoned and the prices are very reasonable; super friendly service. Excellent homemade juices well: jugo de avena and morir soñando of course! I come here often and it never disappoints.“

“Great food and great service. The food reminds me of home and is reasonably priced. We keep coming back for the ox tail stew, ribs, beef steak, porkchops, dumplings and the boneless chicharonnes de pollo. Most meals are served with white or yellow rice and beans or vegetables. If you want to try something different, they have the beef liver and squid ink fried rice which remind me of squid ink Paella. The combination meals are a great option to try out different dishes. The staff and owners always greet you with a warm welcome.“

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional service from Yanerys!
I had the pleasure of having lunch at Mary’s Restaurant, and the best part of my experience was the incredible service provided by Yanerys. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm smile and made to feel truly welcome. Their attention to detail, kindness, and professionalism were beyond impressive.
Yanerys was very attentive! Yanerys is a true treasure for this restaurant.

“i ate here for the first time and got mofongo and a limeade. the mofongo was delicious and they give you a generous serving of gravy! it’s classic dominican, exactly what you’d expect. the mofongo does take a bit long bc it’s made fresh but the waitresses were nice and accommodating. a casual atmosphere with good food“

“Really nice place to eat everyday, the 10$ meal is just really generous, if you eat a lot this is the place for you. I'm only speaking of 10$ meal. There are more things on the menu. Add a nice costumer service and this place is just great, I just had lunch in Newark, for ... like the same amount of food or less and it cost me 33$, I wish I was near Rancho Deli...“

“I ordered dinner yesterday and came back for breakfast today. I ordered Tres Golpes (Mangu, salami, fried cheese, and fried egg) which is a Dominican breakfast, two guava y queso empanadas and a coca cola. The breakfast was very authentic and flavorful. The empanadas were good too. The staff is very attentive, greets you and takes your order as soon as you walk in. The place is very nice inside and you can grab a table to sit down and dine in if you want. The breakfast is better than the lunch and dinner in my opinion.“

“This place is hands down the BEST Dominican fritura spot in NYC! The food is delicious, full of flavor and FRESH. The service was phenomenal and Laysha was amazing. She put us on to the best items on the menu and we walked out completely full, satisfied and beyond happy. I’ll be posting a Reel and video on TikTok (@radiantcin). Gracias por esta comida deliciosa y buen servicio 🫶🏽👏🏽🇩🇴We also created a new name for their dish pictured here!!! Tierra & Alas!“

“Great portions! The pernil and pollo guisado are my favorite. I’ve ordered lunch plates to stay, take out platters for group dinners, and catering orders for a party. They give such great portions. The catering orders are of course freshly made, but the lunch and take out are from the ready made trays in the store and the chicken and pernil are so tender and delicious.“
“Stopped by for breakfast. The 4 Golpes, let me tell you… worth every bite. The food was delicious — fresh, flavorful, and made with real love. Rudy, the owner, was amazing and super attentive, making the whole experience feel even more special.
If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out. Support local, support good food, and support people who truly care about their craft.“

“DELICIOUS! Best mofongo & chicharron in Manhattan. Takes exactly like the one in PR that my family serves me. Everything is so flavorful and juicy and the chicharron is so incredibly crispy but still fatty. Was perfect for takeout and I’ll def be going back all the time“

“A Home Run of flavor I just devoured at Lugo's Restaurant & Lounge, and I'm still reeling from the culinary hat trick. This dish is the MVP of my food here - succulent shrimp, indulgent lobster, and tender skirt steak join forces to create a flavor trifecta that will leave you screaming 'Triple Crown!'
The shrimp was so juicy, it practically swam onto my fork. The lobster? Butter-tender and begging to be devoured. And don't even get me started on the skirt steak - cooked to perfection and practically singing 'Take Me Out to the Ball Game' with every bite.
Lugo's Triple Play is a grand slam of flavors, a culinary World Series champion. If you haven't tried it yet, drop everything and get to Lugo's - your taste buds will thank you. Five stars, ten stars, a million stars - this dish is the real MVP."“

“I ordered from two good to go, which is an app that gives you discounted meals for less at the end of the night. They gave me liver which I’m not a fan of liver, but I gave it to a friend. I got potato salad. That was delicious a soup with pork in it and vegetables, rice and beans and a vegetable dish with okra and plantains. I will try out their fried chicken soon everything was packaged very good and the place looks very clean. A+
Parking: Very busy street and hard to find parking in“

“We had a delicious breakfast here. Passing through the neighborhood and wanted some hot food, not breakfast sandwiches or pastries. I had mangu, sausage, and egg. My husband had rice and pork with a soda. Less than $20 together. The staff was friendly. Counter seating inside or.2 small.tablea outside.“

“The food is extremely good. The place itself is a bit hot and cramped. They're cash only. Portions are bigger if you eat in (way too much to finish) but God value either way. For my money, it's the best well-rounded meal in midtown.“

“I’m Puerto Rican and when I’m feeling homesick (often lately) I come in for a feast. Best rotisserie chicken, perfect seasoning, tasty crispy skin. Arroz con gandules is my favorite but the congris (black bean rice) is a close second. Also, I have a severe gluten allergy and have never had an issue! Love this place!“

“I stepped in here because I wanted a coffee but it was a pleasant little surprise. The lunch special is reasonably good. Rice , beans and chicken for $10 in dumbo? That’s a deal. It was seasoned well and tasty. I had some coffee too. Would absolutely come back here again if I’m in the area.“

“So yummy!! We got chicken, fish, and beef and all were delicious. Each meal comes with beans and rice and is a good value for the food and location. We also shared 4 meals (they gave us an extra plate and cutlery set) between 5 adults and had plenty of food!“

“DELICIOUS. The Chacá (maíz craquiao/sweet corn) is really good. I’m from PA and don’t come to NY at all, but anytime I have to cross the GW Bridge for whatever reason, I have to stop by the corner of W. 182nd / St Nicholas in the Bronx ( I think that’s the Bronx). I haven’t tried the habichuelas con dulce, but sometimes they have rice pudding (Arroz con leche) and it is also good. The habichuelas must be really good also because everyone on the line in front of me ordered the habichuelas con dulce. I left from my house in PA at around 9AM when I checked to see what time they open, Google has their hours from noon to 8pm. I arrived to NY at around 10:45AM hoping they were going to be there already, and they were. They were just getting set up and there were also other people waiting to get this delicious sweet treat. I guess they open at 11AM. One thing I didn’t see was their price list. I heard someone getting charged $9 for the big cup and I got charged $10. I’m not sure if that person got the habichuelas or the sweet corn and/or if the habichuelas and the sweet corn have the same price. They should list the prices so some people that are not from the area or don’t go there often think they are getting overcharged. If you pass by the area, stop by and get yourself some Cachá or habichuelas con dulce. By the way, the people selling are very nice and have been on that corner for many years.“

“If you're looking for some of the best Dominican food in the US, it's here - down a few steps, in this pool hall. Everything was delicious, and I absolutely loved the habichuelas (beans). The gallina was tender to the point it was falling off the bone, and the rice was fluffy and full of flavor. This is truly a place where you can taste the love.“

“I love this hidden gem, the food here reminds me of my grandma cooking. I order the bake chicken with white rice and red beans with a passion fruit juice . The chicken was cooked to perfection so tender and juicy and it fell off the bone when I picked it up“

“Beef stew and Chivo were good. Beans are ok, not great. A serving of tostones is for 2 people it seems like. 4 stars 🌟 on that. I like the potato salad with eggs but they didn't have that today. Today they had macaroni salad with Tuna but I didn't taste any tuna 1 star 🌟 for the Mac salad. Service is good. It seems like a family run business. Overall I'll give them 4 stars because of they way they treat you like family. If your in passaic and hungry pass by and you won't be sorry.“

“Very authentic Dominican food at a great price. The people here are super friendly.
I had the sancocho with rice and a mofongo de pernil, both cooked the traditional way and full of flavor. Portions were generous, everything tasted homemade and was affordable (extra charge for credit card). Simple, honest Dominican food with no frills. Would come back.“

“Yeah I got that at the Dominican Restaurant, where at?? Inside the Delta Gas station, sounds sus??
It’s definitely going to raise eyebrows, but let me tell you, the place looks fabulous you walk into a standard gas station convenience store, turn right it’s a wrapped up beautiful fully running restaurant.
Food portions are MASSIVE! A platter with pernil, congris $15 , 2 people can eat from this- or at the very least you’ll have leftovers- unless you’re bougie . The Pollo Guisado was juicy and tender not rock chicken, penil was good. The beans are absolutely scrumptious. We legit got 3 platters, extra rice beans, extra maduro, guineo and a morir soñando (freshly made to order!) check didn’t go past $60 .
Plenty of parking, restaurant is clean and bright, service was pleasant- will return!“
