“I love green curry, if I could eat just one food for the rest of my life it's green curry so I'm picky when I try a new place and this place was INCREDIBLE!!! I inhaled this dish like it was my last meal and wanted more, and great service“

“Stumbled upon this Thai restaurant, and was very pleased with the food and experience. The Khao soi chicken was cooked very tender and fell off the bone. Pad Kra Pow pork dish was also really satisfying. The food was spicy, but the flavour worked well to make you want more. Highly recommended!“

“They just revamped their menu and I’m all here for it! My favorites were the rice noodle rolls wrapped with tofu, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, shiitake mushrooms, carrots and preserved radish, Thai beef stew and the Panang short ribs. The beef stew was SO tender and collagen rich, literally every bite was melt in your mouth. Short ribs, also as expected, tender and flavorful. The Thai ice cream was a perfect finish - sweet toppings, cold coconut ice cream, warm pandan sticky rice - all different flavors and textures but all work together in harmony.“

“The food here was excellent. I got the Pad Thai and it was one of the best I've ever had. Their appetizers are all very good. I'd highly recommend going here on a date or family dinner. Menu is a little pricy but worth it.“

“Plue is a very vegan friendly restaurant with a lot of options and alternative sauces that make it inclusive if you don’t eat meat. Most main dishes have the option to be made with Mock Duck or Tofu or Soy chicken.
I recommend getting of the curries with Mock Duck and Pad Thai or See Ew with soy chicken. The service was good. For starters you can also try the coconut roti, beetroot dumpling or Avocado summer roll.
On the pricy side but worth it.“

“I like this place a lot. I’ve been three times. They have a nice drink special too. My friends said they could smell the air freshener from the bathroom from our table and that the bathroom wasn’t nice. I didn’t smell that and the bathroom seemed normal to me.“

“As a longtime vegan and someone who absolutely loves Thai food, I can honestly say this is one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever been to—not just in East Harlem, but anywhere in New York City.
Every dish I’ve had here has been outstanding. The vegetables are always incredibly fresh, the flavors are vibrant and authentic, and it’s clear that a lot of care goes into every plate that leaves the kitchen. Finding a restaurant that consistently delivers this level of quality is rare, and Chu Ros Thai does it every single time.
The staff is warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind, which makes the entire experience even better. You never feel rushed, and they always make you feel like they’re happy you’re there.
And if you’re vegan, do yourself a favor and order the Thai iced tea made with coconut milk. It’s one of my favorite drinks in the entire city and the perfect complement to an already amazing meal.
I’ve eaten Thai food all over New York, and Chu Ros Thai has earned a permanent spot at the top of my list. I come here whenever I can, and whenever someone asks me where they should eat in East Harlem, this is the first place I recommend.
A true neighborhood gem.“

“I absolutely loved this place. The interior holds no more than 18 at max and I’m honestly surprised that it wasn’t more crowded given the ambience and the quality of food. It’s like a little oasis in the middle of 9th Ave and everything food wise just feels a little nicer than you’d expect - the presentation and the menu itself are brightly colored and the flavors of what we ordered (clams with roti, whole fish, curry duck) were absolutely outstanding.
If you’re walking by and you stop and peer in and look at the menu and think “hey, this place looks great, I should go” - you would be correct. You should come eat here.“

“This is one of the most delicious Thai meals I've ever had. The lunch deal is awesome. An entree and soup for $22. I added on a lager for $7. In NYC that's a deal for food of this quality. The interior is well designed, music creates great ambiance. The service is prompt and friendly. Go!!“

“This is the best and most delicious Thai food I’ve ever eaten. You also have the option to make your dish spicy ~ which I LOVE. They made the panang curry extra spicy and it was phenomenal. Service is quick too! Highly recommend!!!“

“Pickleball got cancelled thanks to the rain, so we pivoted to Koo Thai and have no regrets.
After an indecisive debate between Thai, Mediterranean, and Indian food, Thai was the winner. The basil fried rice and Panang curry were comforting and the colors were beautiful. The restaurant is a sweet little space and a rainy-night win.“

“I had the hainanese chicken with liver over gingered rice, really well executed and super delicious. Absolutely loved the taro in coconut milk too , not too sweet, lands all the flavors I wanted in taro. Service was speedy and attentive, I highly recommend this place.“

“I gave this place five stars for one reason only: I wanted the people to read my review. If I gave one star, the review would be pushed back to the end. My review... Worst food we ever had in our lives!! Bland and expensive. It came with none of the toppings we ordered!! Tasteless and dry. I suspect the food was kept in the heat for most of the day. STAY AWAY FROM THIS S...HOLE!!!! It should be reported and closed. I can only imagine the unsanitary conditions of the place. Restaurants that do not care about the quality of their products do not care about hygiene.“

“We always order take out from here but decided to dine in and so happy we did! We sat in the back patio which is covered and had live music. Very nice ambiance.
Food was very delicious as always. A little spicy but the right amount even for those who like mild.
Mind ohm fah was our wonderful server. Very attentive and gave good recommendations.
Can’t wait to come back!“

“The vibe alone draws you in from the street. The friendly service gets you to take a seat, and the food makes you want to come back! You don’t have to wait long, and it’s worth every minute! We brought our teenage sons for their first taste of Thai, and they ate every bite! The Mango Sticky Rice was amazing! We’ll be back!“

“Of course it’s a basic dish that every Thai restaurant has — but the crispy pork basil at this place is hands down the best in the neighborhood.

“I'm Malaysian and let me tell you that this is home to the BEST nasi lemak in the city. The sambal is 12/10 sedap (delicious). Everything on the menu we tried was a banger. Can't wait to come back. Note that the space is a little tight, so plan accordingly. The family that runs this place are lovely.“

“The best Thai food I have found so far in NYC. Relatively authentic taste, reasonably priced, friendly service, and less busy/crowded than the Thai restaurants on 9th Ave. Will definitely return. :-)“

“I enjoyed the food at Chorn Thong, but I wouldn’t consider it fully authentic Thai cuisine. The dishes were not spicy, which is unusual for traditional Thai food. However, I understand that this may be adjusted due to the location and the local clientele, where there may not be many Thai customers.
That said, the place itself is beautiful, and the service was excellent! I will definitely come back for the sticky mango dessert.“

“KKKR quickly became a staple for my partner and I, especially their lunch special. It has been one of my favorite restaurants in Astoria pretty much since it opened. If only it wasn’t so tucked away, more people would be able to try their flavorful while still wonderfully balanced dishes. Owen is also the sweetest server I have ever met. Always incredibly courteous and well-mannered. I’m absolutely heartbroken to hear KKKR might be closing. To the new ownership coming in, you don’t know what you’re losing! Please keep KKKR around!!!“

“Came here for Thai food and had a great experience.
We ordered the Massaman curry — absolutely delicious. Rich, flavorful, with a unique taste that really stands out. It’s not too spicy, which makes it very enjoyable even if you don’t usually go for spicy food.
We also had the Pad See Ew (stir-fried wide rice noodles with meat) — perfectly cooked, very tasty, and well-balanced in flavor.
The atmosphere is what really completes the experience. The place feels very warm, personal, and welcoming. Everything is clean and well taken care of, and the music fits the moment perfectly. It’s an ideal spot to relax, enjoy your time, and have a quality meal.
Overall, a great place to come with your partner or just unwind and enjoy excellent Thai food. Highly recommend!“

“Thai- and family-owned, super friendly and very quick turnaround, perfect for the lunch rush. The chicken noodle soup with vegetables is my go to. They also offer a nice array of Thai “nam prik” spicy sauces, if you want more kick. Some dishes are spicier than others, very typical of Thai food, so be mindful when ordering. Highly recommended! :):)“

“The meal was delicious and served hot, just the way I like it. The duck was outstanding. I’ve had duck at many restaurants, and it’s often either too dry or too oily, but this was perfectly cooked, tender, juicy, and flavorful. The waitress was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance made the experience even better. This is definitely my new go to restaurant.“

“Food was excellent. Service was slow. They only have one server caring for those dining in and the numerous take out orders. They lost several customers due to the long wait. This was a Friday, during dinner hours. The server said that they are very busy on Fridays and Saturdays.“
