“This was my second visit in 7 days. The wagu & wine special was fabulous as always. But the service was awful this time. The waiter was very nice initially but we only saw him twice. I had to keep stopping people to fill our water. Our waiter never checked on us and the burgers took forever. The coffee took forever and arrived cold. I believe it was the manager who re-made my cappuccino. We were celebrating my friend's birthday and they did give us dessert for that. But what a difference from last week when we had stellar service from Dominick!“

“Don Pepe never disappoints! Their food is absolutely amazing, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and service you receive. I ordered a calamari to go, and the bartender (a super friendly guy) was fantastic. He was incredibly nice and even threw in a huge piece of bread—easily 10 inches long! Definitely enough for leftovers, which was a nice surprise. The little details like this make the experience even better. I’ll definitely be back!“

But what is compelling me to post this was truly the regarding the service I received here. It brought me to tears!!! Patricio and Dylan were the most considerate, kind, attentive and understanding waiters I have ever met in my entire life. After dining in the tri-state area my whole life, exploring cities like Chicago and LA through food, I’ve been conditioned and numb to lackluster waitstaff and typically take the approach of trying just to avoid them spitting in my food, but Patricio and Dylan completely floored me in their attention to detail, knowledge, and service that showed me exactly what good waiters could be. Living with GI issues and intolerances, I consistently feel like an inconvenience at restaurants and that the entire responsibility of making sure I don’t fall ill after dining is based on how I modify the menu and pick around my plate. EXCEPT here at Rails with Patricio and Dylan, I had the first care-free dining experience in my life, their thoughtfulness allowed me to be truly present with my family, enjoy the wonderful food being served, and just live in the moment, which is so important to me. Dylan was explicit in the detail of every dish and always helped me navigate what was coming around and being served. Now, back to the tears, when I subtly mentioned in passing to Patricio that I couldn’t eat dairy and couldn’t partake in the birthday cake, he brought me a delicious sorbet flight, unprompted, just so that I could feel a part of the festivities. “We had a reservation for Valentine's Day. We were seated, given our menus and then we waited 45 minutes and were not even served water. We left, and no one even noticed. We went and grabbed fast food instead. We have dined here previously but many years ago and enjoyed the food. Other people's food looked good. Maybe they were short staffed.“
