“As a person who travels alone a lot, I want to share my experiences about the awesome staff and great food that Le Rouge has to offer. While the menu is small it has something for everyone. Excellent apps , the most delicious steaks, seafood and the best Chocolate Cake. As a returning customer on the first night the Seth waiter /bartender ( recognized me and commented that I was here for my annual show. A year later he remembers my wine choice recommends a the best choice of a steak and of course my dessert taking great care in making sure my allergy to shrimp was never a threat. On my second night, again he recommends the Le Rouge burger that arrives hot and delicious and he tells me that my first choice of nachos contains a fish sauce that might contains shrimp he probably served dozens of customers but still remembered my allergy. I greatly appreciate that the staff was friendly with small talk and checking up me Seth and his new buddy Charbel were awesome to watch as they mixed up a constant array of drinks. With a great atmosphere, delicious food and supreme staff I give Le Rouge a 12 out 10 . I ate at Le Rouge for 6 nights and every meal was awesome 🤩”

“Holy smokes. Where do I start? Thanks to the entire Canteen family - and I say FAMILY purposefully as you feel the family atmosphere as soon as you arrive - for hosting our team for dinner last week. We booked out the whole restaurant and they did just what we hoped for: Maritime hospitality, wonderful, genuine service and knock-your-socks off food. The team from across Canada went bananas over the Crobster sandwich. The special welcome from the owners was a lovely touch. The guests raved all the way back across the harbour on the ferry about the wonderful meal from start to finish. It’s a lovely space that is not pretentious and puts an emphasis on fantastic food and exemplary service, with a genuine smile. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“We had excellent service on Canada Day 2024 with our friendly waitress Pal. She was very helpful and kept checking on our party of 12 ages from 3 to 80, to make sure everyone had what they wanted. She put treats on the Robot and had the children go get their treats off the tray on it, which was a highlight for them. We could tell she enjoys waitressing because she does it to perfection. The food was delicious and plated appetizingly, too!”

“Restaurant was clean, atmosphere and staff were very inviting. There was pitchers of water with 4 glassed at each table. Both my partner and I ordered the same sides, butter chicken and saffron rice with pop. It was absolutely amazing.... so much so we ordered 2 extra sides of rice to take home with the remaining butter chicken. Highly recommend! We will be in again to try out some other items.”

We thoroughly enjoyed each and every meal, be it the beef pockets, noodles, dumplings but the best one was the fried rice. The flavours are authentic, meal portions are great and the ambience is amazing and the best part is it’s all halal. If you are in downtown, I highly recommend trying this restaurant!”

“RFM is fabulous! I absolutely love the vegan eggs benny breakfast.😋 The burgers are delicious too. in fact, everything is delicious. The mac n cheese, butter ckn, the cookies, the deserts, the cheeses and dips... all awesome. One of my fave places in Halifax. Right at the top of the list. 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!”

“Well worth a trip across the bridge! I rarely go to Dartmouth, but had an appointment this aft. Walking back to my car, I noticed this cute spot, Portland Street Creperie and decided to check it out. So glad I did! I’ll definitely be back. The owner and his staff member of many years greeted me with a warm welcome and good suggestions. It was a bonus to discover Neil shares a love of Kraftwerk! I’m so jealous that he will be seeing them for the third time 🤦‍♀️. Oh, and the crepes - fabulous! Definitely recommended!”

As you go through the door u see the sign Canadian Owned and also Truly Canadian. Then why are you not using French's catsup instead of Heinz. In our home we use only French's and it is Canadian. Having the chef come out with the waiter to explain what was in each dish / course was also fun. They took extra care because of allergies too!
