“The service is very good, and the food is delicious. However, the focus on drive-thru is very poor. In the morning, they will take your order quickly from anywhere. At night, the dry-thru is good, but inside the restaurant, sometimes it takes a long time and the staff is small at night, but they do their best. The food is very delicious; I recommend it.”

“I Love Mappatura. I’ve been dining here for years and I’m always telling people they need to as well. The calamari is amazing, as is the Lemon Tart. I tried the Chicken Piccata for the first time the last visit and I have to say, it’s probably the best chicken I’ve ever tasted. I literally couldn’t shut up about it for an hour afterwards. Great wine selection and wonderful owners and staff make any visit to Mappatura an absolute pleasure. ♥”

Thanks to the entire Canteen family - and I say FAMILY purposefully as you feel the family atmosphere as soon as you arrive - for hosting our team for dinner last week. We booked out the whole restaurant and they did just what we hoped for: Maritime hospitality, wonderful, genuine service and knock-your-socks off food. The team from across Canada went bananas over the Crobster sandwich. The special welcome from the owners was a lovely touch. The guests raved all the way back across the harbour on the ferry about the wonderful meal from start to finish. It’s a lovely space that is not pretentious and puts an emphasis on fantastic food and exemplary service, with a genuine smile. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“We had excellent service on Canada Day 2024 with our friendly waitress Pal. She was very helpful and kept checking on our party of 12 ages from 3 to 80, to make sure everyone had what they wanted. She put treats on the Robot and had the children go get their treats off the tray on it, which was a highlight for them. We could tell she enjoys waitressing because she does it to perfection. The food was delicious and plated appetizingly, too!”

“Yesterday we had the privilege of eating at The Narrows Halofax, Nova Scotia's #1 Public House and number #12 in Canada. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere and personable host made us feel like we were home! All of the waitresses were incredible and ours went over and above to make us happy and we truly had the best time. The food was to die for, they have a fantastic menu with a bit of everything on it. 100% highly recommend we will be back 🥰”

“Wonderful breakfast spot! Service was unparalleled. Every dish is carefully and masterfully crafted, with a lot of love from the chef who served us with a smile and great recommendations when we couldn’t decide. The plantains were roasted to perfection — gooey on the inside, crispy on the outside. The sassy croissant was absolutely scrumptious: perfect ratio of smoked salmon to cream cheese, lovely caramelized onions and the perfectly poached egg on top! The jerk chicken crepe was also delicious. The rose water digestive after we finished our meal was a lovely touch and the perfect way to finish off brunch. Would definitely recommend if you’re in Halifax! Skip the tourist madness for a homey meal.”

“Sunday morning after nine turned out to be perfect timing, no wait at all and the kids could actually be loud without anyone glaring at us. We split the lobster benny and a stack of pancakes and both plates got demolished, which never happens with my picky eater. Our server kept the coffee coming and even brought the little ones some crayons without us asking, which bought us just enough time to eat while it was still hot. Easy to find parking nearby too, so loading up two toddlers afterward wasn't the usual circus.”

The brisket and shrimp spring rolls served with peanut sauce were so fresh and tasty - highly recommend this new menu item! The shrimp vermicelli bowl served with fish sauce was absolutely delightful, and my husband had a dish with pork, rice, vegetables with a fried egg on top served with a sweet sauce. He loved his meal! If you're into spicy drinks, try the tamarind margarita - it has a real kick and is so good! Great restaurant - can't wait to return! :)”
