“Went snow shoeing yesterday at Western Turnpike Golf Course. Stopped by a little gem we have right in our backyard afterwards for a beer and sandwich. Had no idea they are open during the winter. The Hedge Bistro open Tuesday-Saturday 11-5 until about April. Happy to see several “made in house” items on their menu…pizza dough, smoked brisket and pork, NEVER frozen burgers (which makes a difference!) Caesar dressing, marinara sauce and chocolate chip cookies!“

“This restaurant is Schenectady’s Best kept secret. I’ve been there several times for lunch and it never disappoints. The service is spot on from when you walk in the door, no pun intended but I’m in a wheelchair(handicap accessible) to when you are leaving, opening doors and exchanging goodbye pleasantries. The place itself is immaculate, shiny floors, beautiful atmosphere, great background music and above all delicious food you know is prepared to order. While being there for lunch, I ordered off the dinner menu with no problem, as the staff is extremely accommodating. The menu includes a wide variety of options to satisfy every palate.
Next time you’re looking for a great, quiet and delicious place for lunch or dinner, give Chez Nous a try you will not be disappointed. They have private spacious rooms for small private events and I will reiterate the place is spotless and extremely comfortable with GREAT FOOD!

Several staff members came up to me afterwards to complement the quality of the food. We have gotten family dinners from. Maisies' before and I definitely recommend them, as well. Everything is freshly prepared, homemade, and delicious. Such a great asset to our community!“

“Stopped in for an early dinner on a Saturday. It was quiet for a Saturday. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. I hadn’t been there in a couple of years, so we decided to stop in. They usually have some terrific specials in addition to the menu. Patrick will always give great advice on what to try. My wife had a huge lobster roll and I had a panko encrusted baked cod. Both were specials and both were terrific. While it’s a bit out of the way, it’s a great spot. The deck is covered and overlooks the 18th green of the golf course. Very enjoyable.“

“So we had an amazing DoorDash order from tops the other night. We usually cook but had the flu so needed no contact delivery. Dolmades were not on the online menu as an add on and we wanted to split a salad and add some on. I called and the waitress was happy to manually add them on if I put in a note & charge accordingly. She did it and they were amazingly fresh, best we’ve ever had. I’m big on trying Rueben’s from different places and this is hands down one of the best corned beef Rueben’s ever. My husband got the chicken sandwich with the basil and pesto I forget what it’s called but tried a bite of that and so fresh. I have always liked tops but in the past but I don’t know if they got new cooks or not because this was above average from the food we’ve had in the past and when I’ve ordered takeout in the past there’s been a thing or two missing. Not now. Everything was hot and fresh and the waitress that ordered was so friendly. I know DoorDash can be difficult because the food may not arrive how the restaurant puts it out but we had an amazing driver too!!! This experience will make us go back. When you are used to eating home cooked meals and you are sick and you get a good meal like that and friendly service it makes such a difference. Thank you! I cannot stress how fresh everything was. So important that the food is checked prior to ensure everything is there and that was done.“

However, the service experience was unfortunately quite frustrating. The wait for a table was significant, and the waiting staff appeared overwhelmed and disorganized. We waited over thirty minutes after being seated before anyone even approached us for a drink order or to bring water, a delay that felt prolonged even for a busy night. Seeing other tables not receive menus and witnessing several groups depart due to the extended waits suggested a need for better coordination among the team, even while acknowledging potential staffing shortages. “In town for a little bit just was driving by and saw New York rangers flying out front. I'm a rangers fan and the game was on at 7:00. I went in there at 6:30 sat at the bar bartender put on the anger game and was very attentive. Great service. I didn't ask his name but he handled the whole bar. Good people. No craziness. Ordered a Heineken onion rings which both were fantastic. Look I'm mostly interested in good servers and someone that's smiling and that's what I got. The bar stools were far enough apart where you weren't hitting shoulders or elbows with other people who's good nice hometown bar. I miss it. I live in Scottsdale most of the year and everything's a free-for-all. I don't care what bar you're in

“In the past year, I’ve ordered an appetizer, the flatbread pizza at least 3 times. It’s always been delicious with just a little bite to it. Tonight I ordered it and it was excessively spicy hot. My tongue and lips were on fire! We told our waiter and he said he’s had other complaints this past week about it being very spicy hot. I couldn’t even eat it. My husband switched meals with me. The waiter did ask if I’d like something different but seeing my husband switched it wasn’t necessary. Has this menu item been changed?“
