“First time visiting Bamboo Garden, the young lady behind the counter was sweet and friendly. My son ordered crab rangoons and he says they are the biggest he has ever seen!! He asked for extra beef in his pepper and steak meal and extra he received. Meal was delicious,we definitely will be back ??“

“This is my absolute favorite Chinese food spot in the area. I’ve tried various meals: shrimp lo mein, boneless bbq spareribs, chicken wings, egg rolls, pork fried rice, General tso chicken, sweet and sour chicken, all delicious and fresh! The people that work here are extremely friendly and kind. Portions are a great value for prices. Their homemade duck sauce is my favorite too!“

“Sometimes you just want Wanton Soup. Bamboo does a great job with all their dumplings and the other American Chinese food. The owners seem to be an older couple that care more about their food quality than anywhere else in Schenectady. I wish they made real Chinese food as well! I feel like they would make killer Dongpo Pork, Chicken Feet, Tendon with Sea Cucumber, Jellyfish Salad, etc. If you like Beef Broccoli, Sesame Chicken, Sweet and Sour, this place has the BEST American style Chinese food. I haven't tried their pork yet, and that is usually the protein American Chinese makes hard, dry, and sometimes inedible (Scotia/Glenville Chinese food comes to mind, if anyone could make decent Asian food, you'd make generational wealth with all the terrible Asian food in Scotia/Glenville). The only bad thing is the atmosphere. Let's be honest, you aren't bringing a date here, or sitting down for a traditional family style Chinese meal. So atmosphere shouldn't be a problem. This isn't my favorite style of food, I'd rather go to Hu's House or Ala Shanghai. If American Chinese is your thing, DEFINITELY give this place a try!!!“

“This is the only chinese takeout place i trust. Incredibly reasonable prices, the most generous portions in the area, and consistently fantastic egg rolls and fried wontons. i personally love the boneless spare ribs the most! (also one of the only places in this area that puts beansprouts in the fried rice, so delicious!)

its also very telling that the only badmouthing ive seen is because of chicken that someone claimed was overcooked after they knowingly left it in the container tightly packed into a sealed bag for like an hour before eating it, which would obviously leave anything inside overcooked from trapped residual heat.“

“I got takeout. Overall everything was good. The items that had sweeter sauces like the pork ribs and crab Rangoon were almost sickly sweet. For example the crab Rangoon tasted like it had cheesecake filling. On top of being overly sweet, the pork ribs were overcooked.

The sauce on the orange chicken was so thin it wasn't sticking to the meat. But the meat was nice and crispy.

“Best quality Chinese takeout in Schenectady. Fried foods are not soaking in oil. The egg roll I had was nicely deep fried and the wrapper was not soaked in oil! Same with the fried rice and food. Everything tasted like it was cooked with clean oil and not drenched in oil. I would say quality of food is definitely a step above your typical Chinese takeout. Try them out! Highly recommend.“

“Ignore the one-star reviews. They’re all making up fake problems.
Many complain about rude service. Its not rude, its just not fake-friendly like American service is because the staff are not American. Also, they’re way too busy to stand around asking how your day is. In my last visit, a cook personally came out into the front area to ask if I wanted pork or veg for the free egg roll that came with my order. I appreciated that.
Someone complained that the fryer oil hadn’t been changed in a month. How do you know? They do not have an open kitchen. Did you go in the back and check it yourself?
Someone complained the charge for sauce packets. They in fact have a tray full of different sauces on the counter that anyone can take.

Ignore the bored people who need to make up problems so they have something to complain about. This is the most consistently excellent Chinese takeout in Schenectady and I’ve been a loyal customer for years.“

“We’ve ordered from this Chinese restaurant quite a few times, and my family has been eating here for 10 years!

The food is always great, the servings are beautifully large, and I’ve never had a bad experience with them. They’re so quick with the order too! And apparently, in all 10 years, they’ve never messed up an order. Some of our favorite items: Hunan chicken, boneless spare ribs, egg rolls, General Tso, and pork dumplings.“

“I have been ordering take out from the restaurant for years. When my mom was here we used to go occasionally for dinner. I recently made an order from them for an post memorial service gathering at my home. They prepared a delicious platter of all of the things we ordered and which everyone truly enjoyed. Amy was terrific. We had arrived at the house quite a bit earlier than anticipated and she was able to have the order ready a earlier which we very much appreciated.

“It has been a couple of years since I had their food and I was not happy. BUT today I went and got wonton soup and egg roll and boy were they delicious. The place was clean and the man and woman there were very nice. I will be going back there again.“

I see a lot of mixed reviews but
I really like there food the sesame chicken Is spicy, I asked no spice. They provided!! Great taste. The shrimp fried rice is great!! They understood fully what I wanted fast and simple. Stright to the point. The crabrangoons are not greasey at all and are TO DIE FORE!!

Prices are not cheap and not too expensive either, its in the middle.

“Best vegetable egg rolls in town, orders are always correct, friendly drivers. Plus today they sent a beautiful 2020 calendar with my delivery order :) But the font was difficult to read so it made it difficult for the poor driver to find my house. He was very nice though.“

“Most amazing service, we got turned around to the other location and she called to check up and we unfortunately got there a little late but she waited and even gave us a soda to go along when we tried to tip for the amazing appreciation and service. “My husband likes this place so we do go here maybe a couple times a month lately. The food has been good and the service has been good, but I have been there when the service has not been good where I paid by credit card and she didn’t see no tip on the credit card and she said to me no tip, which I usually always give a tip in cash. I still gave them a tip, but to tell the truth, I didn’t want to give them anything. After that statement.
