“We’ve tried Italian cheesecake from many different bakeries and always ended up disappointed and they went in the trash. But then we discovered Mario’s Pasticceria in Babylon! Their Italian cheesecake is absolutely the best we’ve ever had! It was rich, creamy, and had the authentic flavor we’d been searching for. It tasted amazing!! “I stopped in to Emilia’s Bakehouse Café on Walt Whitman Rd in Melville yesterday (they have another location in E. Northport) and boy, was I glad I did! I entered into a well-lit shop filled with pastries, scones, cookies, brownies, croissants, breads and quiches, etc. and was greeted with enthusiasm and a smile by 2 attractive young ladies. It was a great vibe just being there, very stress relieving. The chocolate brownie is perfection in texture and taste! The scones and peanut butter coconut power bites are delicious! Their organic Colombian coffee is the bomb, and you can get it with your favorite milk - for me it’s Oat Planet oat milk. Stop in, it’ll make your day! A feast for the eyes and tastebuds :)“

“The food was amazing, I got the Texas Hold ‘em but with grilled chicken and they did an amazing job. They cook the chicken/bacon right in front of your eyes, plus the food tastes incredibly fresh. I recommend getting one of their panini’s, they know what they are doing and most likely what they have on the menu is a really good idea.The place has a huge drink selection on the wall, a few shelves full of chips, and the menu is incredibly easy to read and it actually includes the ingredients which you don’t see anymore nowadays.The staff was super nice and took your order quickly, somehow the (I believe manager) remembered my order (Texas hold ‘em with grilled chicken) in just three visits.Sadly soon I’ll have to leave New York and won’t be able to eat here anytime soon, but I will remember this place.“

“Whenever I'm in Merrick, which is usually two or three times a month, I always stop at Bagelman of Merrick. They have the best bacon and egg sandwiches and their tuna and chicken salads are always a welcome sight back home. Their bagels are always fresh and flavorful no matter what variety I get. I've come to know the owner, Boris, and his staff, and they are always most helpful. Looking forward to my next trip to Merrick.“

“Great little Greek grocery store and bakery. I go especially for their fresh goods - baklava, spanakopita, tiropita, galaktoboureko, kourabiedes, koulourakia, melomakarona, etc. Everything is so fresh and so delicious. They have a small hot case with the spanakopita and tiropita, so you can get a piece ready to eat. The people there are so nice as well. Good variety of cheeses and frozen goods too. One star removed for convenience of store hours. They are only open during the day, Monday to Friday. I wish they would consider opening on Saturday, if even for a few hours, or staying open past 4pm a few times a week.“

Her carrot cake is SO moist and full of delicious, fresh goodness that you can actually see the carrots and raisins. The frosting adds the perfect sweetness and enhances the cake’s flavor. The best I’ve ever had! Her blueberry pie, another winner, delicious and made with fresh blueberries and not overly sweet. As she said everything is made from scratch with fresh ingredients and best of all you can taste the love she puts into her baking. I was under the impression that the cupcakes would be filled, but it turned out to be a basic cupcake with just a rainbow cookie on top. While it was still tasty, it didn’t quite meet my expectations.“

“Kareem is a SAINT!! He greeted me my first time, and he has the warmest welcoming personality. Their pastries are the absolute best, and they make a bad morning better. Their cheese danish is extremely custardy, and has a soft background of vanilla. It's flakey, and falls apart when you bite it. I love their atmosphere, their employees—this location is amazing, and I've made myself a weekly regular solely from his hospitality.“

“I tried the personal size chocolate bourbon pecan pie from Uncle Jeff’s. It was delicious! Mr. Church actually texted me and asked me to give him an hour to bake one fresh, since he didn’t have any on hand when I ordered. It was still warm when I picked it up. My wife, who normally doesn’t like sweets, tried a slice and she told me it was the best pecan pie she ever had! She said it wasn’t too sweet and it was the perfect consistency for a pecan pie. I can’t wait to try some of Uncle Jeff’s other varieties of pies!“

“It's a shame to write this but we couldnt get through to anyone who spoke English. They bake delicious goods but the girl behind the counter sold me white bread instead of rye. You would think she would know the difference. This is the 2nd screw up. The last time she overcharged us and didnt even blink. Be careful you don't get ripped off by the cashiers. Otherwise, it's a nice bakery. I sincerely hope management takes this seriously.

Parking: It's hard to find bit worth it.“

“This place is great, they make amazing grilled cheese and breakfast sandwiches. I wish they had tomato soup to go with the grilled cheese, but hey, can't have everything. The cookies and sweets are to die for. Stop in, grab a cookie, have a sandwich. The staff are super awesome. They're closed on Mondays though. The rest of the week though, they open. Limited seating, so maybe do a grab and run. This local business is great. Stop in.“
