“My daughter-in-law, Amy Sowder-van Erk, brought me here for my first Blue Heron experience, and personally, it met all expectations, and more! I had an excellently crafted cappuccino and decided to try the gluten-free almond cookies (come in a package of 4). For those of you who are gluten-free or gluten sensitive, you know how difficult it is to find that perfectly delicious, made with love, delicacy. These are out of this world and have a full almond taste and are wonderfully chewy. A highly recommended respite for anyone looking for that perfect spot to enjoy your coffee or tea, and dive into a delectably home made perfection.“

“We hosted an intimate wedding celebration in the elegant party room at Jean-Jacques. It was a joy to work with Donna Sullivan, who handles functions. She provided us with expert guidance in choosing the menu and every other detail. The room looked gorgeous, the food was exquisite and our guests were well cared for by Donna and the other servers. We received so many compliments from the attendees who remarked that they had a wonderful time and that the food was delicious. The bride and groom, and all of their friends and family, enjoyed themselves immensely and were able to meet, connect and have conversation in an elegant atmosphere. The party room is indeed a hidden gem at this premiere bakery and cafe in Pleasantville. My husband and I are not from the area and had never been to Jean-Jacques, but I contacted Jean-Jacques at the recommendation of a family member and couldn’t have been more pleased. It was exactly what we wanted. We had ample room for 40 guests and a jazz piano player. From the appetizers, Bellinis, Prosecco, wine and other beverages, to the sumptuous gourmet buffet dinner to the most delicious celebratory cake, everything was PERFECT. I say this as someone who has organized many events professionally over the decades. Donna Sullivan and Jean-Jacques are top notch.“

Highly recommend the secret sauce for those who enjoy a spicier sandwich. I saw another review about space, and I think the booths are perfect for two but may be a bit tight for groups of 3+.“

“The portions are definitely healthy. More than not, you're going to take some home. I would recommend telling the servers to ease on any sauces or dressings or anything like that. Some of the food that's coming out has a lot of it on it. Great little corner for people watching.“

“Silver Lake is a great cafe! The food, atmosphere, and service is outstanding, and the place is very clean and well kept every time I’ve been. I got the #3 which is a Smoked Turkey Hero, and it was super solid and filling. I highly recommend swapping the mayo with chipotle mayo — it was amazing and added a lot of flavor. Maybe even get some extra chipotle mayo on the side. I approve!“

“Christine went above and beyond to provide a beautiful, delicious, kosher cake for our (Orthodox) synagogue event. Although not a kosher caterer, she worked with a certified kosher baker (who does not deliver direct to consumers in CT) and designed a beautiful inscription and decoration using Hebrew spelling I provided. The cake met every aesthetic, ritual, and gustatory requirement, and Christine could not have been more responsive and helpful!“

“The roasted coconut vanilla coffee here is amazing! Rich, high-quality coffee flavor with a lovely aroma, and the toasted coconut flakes add such a great crunchy texture. So memorable — highly recommend!

I actually came back the very next day because I was so impressed by yesterday’s coffee! This time, I asked the owner to recommend something similar, and she introduced me to their new Strawberry Shortcake Latte. 🍓☕

It was beautiful, almost like a little piece of art, and absolutely delicious. The sweet strawberry flakes added a lovely fruity flavor without overpowering the coffee itself. You can still really taste and enjoy the coffee, which I loved.

Two visits in two days, and both drinks were fantastic. Definitely becoming one of my favorite coffee spots! ❤“

“Had a delightful lunch today at the 41st St location. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The dressing on the greens that comes with the sandwiches was to die for! “They say never judge a book by its cover, well that couldn’t be more true for Lou’s Wagon (hot dog truck). On the surface, it’s a really small white box-truck that doesn’t appear to offer much. Rest assure, that is not the case. The food and service here was great. The two hotdogs with chili, cheese and cooked onions that I purchased were very tasty. The chili had just the right consistency and the cheese actually tasted like cheese. The bread wasn’t stale and the dogs didn’t taste like they’ve been sitting in boiled water for a week. The food was fresh. The lady running the hot dog truck was extremely welcoming, quick and courteous. For anyone looking for a quick bite and tasty hot dogs at a very affordable price compared to other food trucks I’ve stopped at, this spot is a winner. They also offer hot sausage, Dr. Browns soda, chips and cookies. The food spot is perfectly located right at the corner of an intersection just off 9A and Croton Dam Rd. Give them a try. You won’t regret it!“

“The food and the atmosphere were amazing. The employees were super nice and patient. The only problem is that there is a heavy amount of drain flies at the bar section. I think they need to apply insecticide to all the drains and clean them thoroughly, and not to leave wet towels because that could attract them.“

The cafe has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in and focus. There’s plenty of seating, the space is comfortable, and the coffee themed decor gives it a classic neighborhood cafe feel.

“The kitchen is small, but the flavors are big at the Playhouse Cafe. It’s unbelievable what they are capable of creating — this is not your typical movie theater cafe. Great cocktails, a full coffee shop (my favorite place to work on the weekends while the kids catch a movie), the charcuterie board is fabulous, the muffaletta is my favorite sandwich. My kids love the tater tots and chicken fingers. Don’t miss the churro bites for dessert! Best of all — you never need a movie ticket to eat in the cafe, but if you are seeing a movie — you can bring your food/drinks into the theater. My daughter had the cheese tortellini pasta she said the sauce was too sweet. The views from the dining room were great. We entered during a rush period so the service was a little slow and it was a little chilly in the dining room. Overall a great lunch!“

“Great experience at the Bloomingdale’s Nespresso boutique! As a first-time shopper, I felt overwhelmed by all the machine options and coffee varieties, but Kaitlyn and Angelise were incredibly helpful. They were patient, took the time to explain everything clearly, and even offered samples so I could try different flavors.
