“Five of us had a party on Saturday evening. The tavern was quite busy which reflected on service (our waiter wasn't present all the time). But I can understand that.
The space itself doesn't look like a typical Greek tavern, but high ceiling, good furniture and an appropriate lighting are definitely worth mentioning.
The food is good, but some portions are too small. For example, Greek salad is very tasty, but the portion is way too small. The same goes for grilled saganaki. In addition, our lamb chops were served well-done, although we asked for medium. On the other hand, our red snapper was great.
Restrooms are too small for a restaurant with this capacity.
The wine list should be MUCH better.
Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. And the prices are very reasonable to be honest.
However, if I compare the food and portions with some other Greek taverns in Astoria I have to admit there are better options.“

Firnee dessert was given as service - so sweet of them.
I recommend eating the dumpling with both red and green chili as well as the yogurt sauce - in one bite makes a difference.“

“Frank Oley behind the bar is amazing! I attended a party at Rivercrest and the atmosphere was relaxed and fun thanks in large part to Frank's delicious drinks and very cool, personable nature. He's clearly a seasoned pro and I highly recommend stopping in to see him and going to Rivercrest in general. Frank elevated the experience greatly and I'll surely be returning!“

“My friends from elsewhere tried the place I recommend and totally agreed. The workers demonstrated real kindness. Workers make you feel welcome while assisting you. The meals contain surprising combinations that work harmoniously. I question the experience of those rating lower.“

“A few months ago my partner and I had a serious conversation that ended up lasting five hours. We arrived at about 5:30 and as we realized while leaving that it was half past their closing time! This young entrepreneur went from working from home to a beautiful little location. It is a pleasure to contribute to her rise in this field, so give her a shot for your baking needs or just stop by and try her products you certainly will be pleasantly surprised and pleasantly satisfied.“

“Friendly staff and bartender. Good drink selection. I don’t even like bars or drinking but this place was cozy. The food was surprisingly really good given that it’s a bar. I got the burger which was juicy and the fries were crispy and hot; chicken bacon sandwich which was amazing. They also did a bingo night which was fun.“

“I stopped by BZ Grill in Astoria for a quick lunch and left seriously impressed. The owner, Margarita, is a super nice, hardworking lady who clearly takes pride in her food — everything is made fresh and with care.
I ordered the Bifteki Sandwich Lunch Special, which comes with fries. The bifteki (a seasoned Greek-style all-beef patty) was packed with flavor — juicy, perfectly grilled over charcoal, and I could taste a hint of cumin and other warm spices. Easily a 9/10. I also tried the kebab— a delicious mix of ground beef and lamb with Middle Eastern spices. It was tender and flavorful — a solid 8.5/10.
Overall, BZ Grill is a must-try for Greek street food lovers. Great flavors, generous hospitality, and a clean, welcoming vibe. I’ll definitely be back!“

“I have hosted 3 big parties here over the last 5 years, and had countless nights here for food and cocktails. This is THE spot in astoria for vibes+good cocktails + good food (especially with great vegetarian options). Staff is all great, place is clean well kept and sexy lighting. “This pizza is delicious. Even after 3 slices you don’t feel full and weighed down. So good. The dough is unlike anything I’ve had in a pizza. Soft yet crispy. The sauce , cheese all terrific. Found my new pizza joint.“

I do recommend the Chocolate tres leches cake is so yummy! As well as the horchata and chips.

“Amazing place. So invited. You walk in and it feels like family. The staff, especially the owner, are all wonderful. I go there with my 1 year old daughter and always get the vegan Spinach pie. OMG sooooo freaking good. I can eat so many of them but I restrict myself to one. Even my daughter loves it. She gets so happy when we stroll on into the cafe because she knows what that means. I hope to try other items but just can’t let go of that spinach pie. Ugh so good lol“

“Can’t say enough great things about this place! I placed a catering order for my baby shower and everyone loved the delicious food! We had chicken shawarma, falafel, basmati and yellow rice, hummus, baba ghanouj, house salad, and all the different types of pickles and sauces. The portions were generous, and the owner was very sweet and responsive throughout the entire process. I will order here again in a heartbeat!“

Service is extremely friendly, feels like a neighborhood spot. Owners are super nice and personable. Music is fun. If you’re hispanic you’ll probably love it here. 🇻🇪 Try the passion fruit mimosa on a Saturday morning with an empty stomach because my goodness, you WILL be full. 🤩 Fair prices too. “Bai Sushi may seem like a small run-of-the-mill takeout restaurant from the outside, but they are so much more. The cozy atmosphere and welcoming staff make for a wonderful dining experience. The food is amazing (raw or cooked). There’s something for everyone who likes Sushi or Japanese cuisine. They also accommodate if you have dietary needs. Sit in or take out, DEFINITELY stop by!!!“

“I had the beef bulgogi and it was excellent! The meat was tender, flavorful, and perfectly marinated with that balance of savory and slightly sweet. The portion was generous, and the side dishes paired really well to complete the meal.
Service was quick and attentive — Palmi was a great server, handling everything smoothly and multitasking with ease.

“I highly recommend this restaurant! The food is amazing! You must try the buffalo wings if you love your dishes with a spicy kick and the buffalo cauliflower bites that simply melt in your mouth! The Chef's V Steak is a rich and flavorful you should try it. The service is wonderful and the ambiance is very trendy.“
