“Unbelievable experience. The owner and staff are wonderful and make you feel like a guest in their own. The food was fantastic and of a rare quality. Located on a beautiful pedestrian street and facing a bookstore.Kid-friendliness: Our 2 year daughter made friends with some other kids and they laughed the whole time playing in the open-ish space.“

“Such a cute bookstore and Cafe. The selection of books was very unique as they had many special edition copies. The children's section was also quite nice and I got a particularly good book for a friend for her upcoming baby shower. They also had a good number of games for sale, many of which I had never even seen before. Excellent place to stop by if you are into books or libraries.“

Also, the aesthetic of that shop is very trendy and modern. When we went the place was hoppin'. Very friendly staff. They have a large variety of home made pastries and other snacks.Additional Tip: they have limited parking right next to the shop (3 parallel parking spot with a 15 minute line) but then tons of parking in the back! “Absolutely love this place! Full disclosure: it gets busy, it can get full fast and this location doesn't have a great waiting area. That said I feel like parking can be easier than the Schenectady location and if you have to wait there are cute shops that can occupy your time. The food and staff are wonderful and anything you get to drink will be amazing. It's fun to do the full afternoon tea service, with a mimosa flight and overall it's a delightful experience.“

“VFGS is my Thursday place to be for lunch with an old friend. The atmosphere is welcoming and eclectic; there is always new and interesting merchandise to peruse. But...the food is what always brings us back...oat milk chai, lemon scones, chocolate chip sea salt cookies and the breakfast sandwich with turkey sausage...and chicken salad and soups that change weekly and are all delicious! The staff is friendly and efficient and remembers your name and your preferences. A hidden jewel in our community that I am so grateful for!“

We absolutely loved the house made cinnamon roll - definitely one of the best we’ve ever had… not too sweet and just the right balance of cinnamon and icing. The milk teas were great too! We tried the Earl Grey, which was similar to a London Fog, and the Mango with popping bubbles. “Nice coffee shop in a hip area on Jay St. Owner and service are friendly. Good atmosphere. Pricing is average for coffee. Ordered a lg hot Skybar and 1 lg iced Smore's and was disappointed on the flavor profiles. Not sure if they forgot to flavor both coffee's but both tasted like straight espresso. The coffee was also bitter compared to most places which could mean a couple things but are easy fixes. I'll give them another try. On a street with 2 other coffee shops they need to make some minor adjustments and I think they'll be a hit!“

“The best Starbucks around. Excellent customer service. Staff is so friendly and welcoming. I usually do a mobile order and they always say hi and have a nice day when running in to grab it. Most other locations don’t acknowledge you at all when picking up and order. Occasionally my drink may not taste right but they are always happy (they probably aren’t really happy but they act it at least!) to redo it.“

“This place peaked my interest because it is always jam packed when I come downtown on Sundays. Yesterday I decided to give it a try and all I can say is wow, I found my new favorite spot in Schenectady!I had a hard time choosing my Latte because so many sounded so good, but I went with one of their favorites on the chalk sign, the Baklava, YUM!!!! I got a banana muffin to go with it and a breakfast sandwich that had avocado and spring mix, and both were delicious. They told me the muffins are made there and you could tell, fresh and amazing. ♡While I was waiting for my food (which was not long, surprising with the line).I heard one of the staff from the kitchen talking with people as she brought their food, and I loved she knew so many people by name.They obviously have a lot of regulars, and I can see why! It’s great to see businesses that appreciate their customers and want to make sure any wrong is addressed and quickly righted. BARE has amazing options for vegan and gluten free dietary restrictions which is difficult to find. I’m glad to be able to return.—Extremely disappointed with my order and the response when calling about the mistake. I placed an order for 3 açaí bowls, only 1 of them was made correctly.I called to let them know of the mistake, and the response was they’d write my name down and next time I come in they’ll give me 20% off my order. “Love this place. Lots of options to drink and eat including bagels, sandwiches, paninis, and salads. Their drinks are great they have a ton of coffees and teas. The chai latte was delicious. Plenty of seating and they have comfy chairs to read a book or do work all day without feeling guilty for staying. Definitely recommend. They also have a small room I think you can book for small get togethers.“

“Great local place with a true local feel smack in the middle of overpriced food & spirit that has become out of reach for many. In addition to the food being made to order is the excellent value in pricing. Spacious dining tables where on a Friday night you can grab a meal from a wide variety of plates found on the menu and sit and enjoy some local music. And finally it's all done with the biggest of smiles from those working the counter & grill. Go & enjoy!!“
